  1. I heard there was a title change last night
  2. I've been trying to set up a Mystery Titans viewing of the four Mighty Joe Thunder matches with the gang for months but the timing has never worked out. Crazy James didn't see the comedy potential in Thunder and failed to include the matches on the 79-83 set. I promise we will view these horrors for either Mystery Titans or regular Titans one of these days! Enjoyed the review. You should dip into more early 80s WWF, we always need more people to support the cause!
  3. Sgt. Slaughter beats Jay Youngblood clean as a sheet in a good match. Who knew Frank Tunney started the "all clean finishes" trend years before Baba. Maybe a response to years and years of screwy finishes with the Sheik on top
  4. East-West Connection vs "Dynamite" Dominic DeNucci and Tony Parisi was a perfectly solid little tag bout with a hot crowd
  5. Piper vs Steamboat is clipped down to the final 5 minutes but it's good stuff and features a rare clean job by Hot Rod
  6. Watching some of this Maple Leaf stuff. Immediately gravitated to the Sgt.Slaughter and Greg Valentine tag team matches, which is like a dream team for me. Dear God, Slaughter was so insanely over as a heel at this point (1981), just nuclear heat. I watched two matches, one where they fought Pat Patterson and Jay Youngblood and another where they met Youngblood and Johnny Weaver. I'm reminded that Jay Youngblood was an awesome wrestler whose early death pretty much condemned him to being forgotten by many fans, which is a shame. Fun stuff here, especially the first match. I'm going to keep watching until I tap out. Coming up is Mr Fuji and Hussain Arab (Iron Sheik) as a team!
  7. Meltzer's reporting Bound For Glory is a go
  8. So is anyone going to pony up the $ or what?
  9. All I know is my immediate reaction a second after it happened was "that's stupid and doesn't make any sense"
  10. I can't remember what he wrote in previous weeks, but he called the latest Smackdown "a very good show"
  11. It was something to do with New Japan for their TV. On the footage you can't hear what he's saying because Vince Jr is talking over him about an upcoming match
  12. I think if the Cruiserweight division is condemned to failure it's because it's on the poorly executed weekly Raw slog and won't be presented in a way that will get anyone over, and not really because of the size of the guys
  13. Of course Balor isn't going to be in the Cruiserweight division, he was being pushed as one of the top guys in the company when he got injured
  14. No, we never got around to doing a third part looking at Piper's later years, and probably never will but you never know. It's kind of hard to get excited about those years, but I'm sure we would've had a blast talking about it.
  15. Both look wonderfully bad. I even suggested the 1990 MSG one yesterday before we settled on the one we did
  16. Thanks man. This one was a major test of endurance. I also got my Savage vs Santana matches screwed up. This was the 2nd match, the No DQ, not the 1st match like I thought when watching the show
  17. The main difference is that in NXT he was presented as a focal point, on Raw, outside of the Owens feud, he's been mostly presented as a JTTS
  18. Thanks for all the complements guys. I wish I could produce these more frequently, but it can be a time consuming process, even for only 30-45 minute shows. I will finish the Bruno story and then I'm planning on going back and looking at the 50s era to conclude the story I started with the preview episode
  19. Women's match was great, so was Sheamus vs Cesaro
  20. Thanks man. Parv and I just recorded a new one this afternoon. 4/22/86 MSG. 11 friggin matches!
  21. That looks like it could be great
