    I liked the finishing run a lot. Perfect did way more than he had to do and he should have gotten a lot of respect for that. Both guys worked hard and while there are definitely flaws, it seems like we should grade this on a curve for how limited Perfect was going in.

    This is like the non-radio-edit version of the promo from before. Either way, Luger needs to start setting himself apart in some way. Any. Way. It seems like shouting and "doing whatever it takes" are the hallmarks of this character, which don't really make him different.

    Cactus is finally sounding like Cactus! I'm excited to see him back on the big stage. I hope WCW can figure out what to do with him.

    Really bad week for Memphis TV. Christopher Love is really annoying. I realize he's supposed to be, but it's not in an entertaining way. The whole Humongous thing is just....Memphis in the worst way possible.

    Shamrock shows off a lot of athleticism and there is a story to this. Funaki gets the better of Shamrock for most of this, with the exception of some Shamrock strikes that catch him off-guard. But Funaki always has a counter on the mat, where Shamrock tends to need to go to the ropes quite a bit. Funaki actually does some foreshadowing when he immediately drops to the mat after Shamrock goes behind for the first time. He'd rather go to the mat and risk Shamrock having his back (remember Funaki has been in charge on the mat) than allow Shamrock a chance at a suplex. Then when Shamrock hits a suplex after the strike flurry it actually does put Funaki away in what seems like a reversal of fortune given the body of the match.

    That TV was absolutely huge. I like how you settled the Rockers, not something that is final, but leaving the door open for them to come back one day. King Tonga is on an absolute tear on TV and I love it!

    Sherri appears to be a bit upset about the wedding. Brutus eggs her on a little, but not in an overly entertaining way. I will say that Sherri plays her part brilliantly as always. It seems like being a great character in the WWF or WCW at the time is the kiss of death. You just sit in a sort of time loop where the only thing that changes is who you talk about in character.

    They did vaguely mention Warrior "not being the same", but that's all we get. Can't fully equate the snake bite to Warrior not being there because, you know, not really in the same universe. I was surprised when Sid jumped up on the apron. Where was that kind of agility or effort in his actual matches?

    I was distracted and then annoyed by the ref, but a good match and one I've seen a few times. Finlay stands out and I think it has a lot to do with what garretta mentioned about Finlay's offense being more suited to the environment.

    I loved Jumbo's reaction to the crowd booing him when he went in to interrupt Kobashi. And after this, instead of trying to redeem himself, Jumbo takes himself and Taue full on into dick heel mode. Misawa looked like he hurt his right shoulder or elbow. Was there a major injury he wrestled through around this time?

    I liked how Funk seemed to take more than a little delight in pissing off the crowd by working the match the way he did. I did not like the 7 or 8 flips over the ropes for no apparent reason. Funk makes this almost worthwhile. I didn't hate it, nor would I put it as the worst match on the 91 YB. I did, however have the thought that it would have been much better even 2 or 3 months later when both would have been more able to go. It did bring up the idea that as wrestlers you have to make the crowd buy into your match, not buy into what the crowd wants. Funk using that ridiculous method of control that the crowd was clearly doing "boring" chants in response to in order to get boos may have been an early usage of the more "meta" type heeling.

    Benoit over Zbysko had to be an upset despite him being champ. Brito beating Humongous can only mean bad things for the former tag champs.

    WWC requests Bruiser Brody and Abdullah the Butcher on February 22nd.

    What a great surprise! Curtis and Cornette completely steal the show in such a good way. If Curtis had been 70-100 pounds heavier he'd have been a junior/cruiserweight guy to watch. And yeah, who knew Corny was such a good worker? So glad I got to see this.

    I was just happy that Luger was involved in something heelish. I mean, the guy did turn heel or so I'm supposed to believe. So him partaking in some actual heel shenanigans seems like a step in the right direction.

    Please tell me all of the matches between these two exist on tape somewhere and I can watch them. Such a great, unexpected feud.

    Really good match for two guys as green as they are. Leaves me wanting to see more of both, which is all I could ask for. I will agree about JR on commentary. Shitting all over Paul is really not what I'm looking for.

    This is two weeks in a row of women being openly punched right? Hooray Memphis? Say what you will about Embry's booking being self-centered. Seems to me we didn't have women being decked by men, which is definitely a positive feature.

    The whole Dragon Master thing was a little ridiculous. I mean, so is Leatherface, but that actually works. Not sure if a guy in a dragon mask works regardless of height.

    More awesomeness from Jake to offset Warrior being really not good. But not near bad enough to take away the greatness that Jake brings to this.

    So I guess 2 cheap Abdullah knock-offs is better than 1. And one of them can do a moonsault, yay? Be nice if they were anything beyond serviceable in the ring. And I feel like I'm being generous giving them that. Fantasma throws a nice dropkick, but it seems like that's all he's good for. This match was....really forgettable.

    I feel like I've run out of good things to say about Jake as a promo. I've been down on Sid since before he left WCW, so I tend to wander off mentally. Bobby's promo was his best work in a while. You can tell he's excited to work with Flair.

    Tag team shootstyle match is just wrong. I can recommend the 2008/2009 Battlarts tags as much, much better than this. But also violent in really almost disturbing ways. This match is...why is it on the set? Scott hits some nice amateur moves early. Nakano does almost nothing of note. Yamazaki and have some okay striking exchanges. And that's all I thought was noteworthy in 28 minutes. I noticed something with suplexes counting as a point deduction for the team that took them. That seemed like a new thing.
