Yeah, that definitely got the waterworks going here.
  2. Taker looked like a giant carrot in tights, and he was concussed out of his mind. It's a miracle the match was as decent as it was. And this should be it. It was the perfect ending to his career.
  3. Ax also looked like an old man desperately trying to look young and hip/ badass and instead looked ridiculous. His in ring work was killer, though.
  4. Let's just make fun of the ridiculous rip off booking that is this wonderful last gasp of a dying promotion, and not bash Eric Young. He's a legit great wrestler and good dude.
  5. Bryan is just being honest as a fan. He's allowed to say shit like the Mountie was fucking stupid and awful. He isn't saying that The guy was a shitty wrestler. And Mountie WAS stupid and awful. Despite the effort put forth by Jacques.
  6. Garea over Calhoun, Ho, Larry, and Martel.
  7. He's one of many who's "Wrestling sucks now and hear me rant" gimmick is old and played out. It's the same thinking he has that he has to have a Robin. It's the most played out radio gimmick in the business to have a Robin. I love Cornette but unless he's sharing old timely stories with a decent guest he stinks.
  8. Neat little bit, Hayes mentions that it should have ended after the door to the head on the latest Austin podcast.
  9. Yeah, but The Mountie WAS a stupid gimmick.
  10. Yeah but that isn't why Ross is holding a grudge for some weird reason. It's some sort of "Ah'm still loyal to the Cowboy" weirdness.
  11. Magnum TA vs Tully Blanchard: "I Quit" Starrcade 85 Here's the grooviest thing about this. It's actually more about Tully than it is Magnum. The whole deal starts with the Dusty/ Tully feud over the TV Title that had been going on for awhile. They had been battling for awhile and at the same time Magnum was US champ. At the first Great American Bash, Dusty beat Tully not only for the TV Title, but he got Baby Doll as his valet for 30 days. Tully was despondent on TV, going on about how Rhodes and his cronies are out to ruin his life and that he'll come back, mark his words. Meanwhile, during one of the vignettes where Dusty is making Baby Doll work on Nelson Royal's ranch, she gains Dusty's trust for a minute as she shows she knows how to ride a horse. She then takes off on said horse to get away from Dusty and contractually enforced servitude. Dusty checks his credit cards that she also stole that show she was in Hawaii. At the same time, Tully was challenging Magnum for the US belt. They met in a match where someone dressed as a cop (who was obviously Baby Doll) came to ringside and gave Tully a foreign object/ roll of quarters with which he slugged Magnum and stole the US Belt. Now on TV Tully was gloating to all that not only did he rebound from losing the TV belt, he did so by winning the US belt, and from Dusty's pal. The 30 days were up and Baby Doll was back at his side. The announcers claimed that she was the "cop", but how could that be if the receipts proved she was in Hawaii? NEFARIOUS! Now Magnum is furious. He wants the belt that he worked so hard to get and defended constantly back. Tully escapes every rematch by the skin of his teeth via luck and cheating. All the while letting Magnum know that he, Tully Blanchard is the man, not Magnum. The feud carries on until Tully finally says that Magnum has one last shot at the belt, then he's moving on. And Magnum loses that match via nefarious means, or there was a DQ, I can't recall. Anyway, Tully gloats that "THAT'S IT" no more title shots for Magnum. Magnum tries everything to get a rematch. At some point he attacks Tully during a match or something like that and attacks him while HE is disguised as a cop! Magnum is pleading for a rematch, but no dice. Finally, Jim Crockett says there will be one and it'll be at Starrcade, and it'll be an "I Quit" match. Tully is furious, and appeals to the NWA Board who agree with him that this should not happen as it will be too brutal or somesuch. Crockett comes out and says that the NWA may not sanction the match but Jim Crockett Promotions will take all responsibility. The match is ON. And this time it WILL be Magnum's last chance at the belt and Tully Blanchard, who robbed him of HIS belt to start with, and it's Tully's time to show if his comeback from the bottom can be sustained. Both by any means necessary. The level of hatred and utter disdain between the two of them during all this is so thick you can cut it with a knife and spread it on a bagel made of awesome. Then......the best match ever.
  12. I won't cancel my subscription, that's cutting off your nose to spite your face. But I'll be pissed off as I'm getting rid of cable/ satellite and going Roku.
  13. Well, that settles that. Lol
  14. Not just match results, lots of other stuff. Like how HHH would put over Bryan for example and lotsa stuff like that. Im kidding about burying it, it's a good show that was a lot of fun to do and listen to.
  15. Exactly. Watts blasted WWF for using Lauper and Mr. T on TV back in 85. For some reason Ross still harps on it. Which is stupid.
  16. Some of you people are on dope. It doesn't get better than Magnum/ Tully. And I can write up a pretty good synopsis of the build, which I'll do later.
  17. Everyone who was ever a wrestler or referee who has died, died from drugs and steroids on Nancy Grace. This includes Andre, Joey Marella, and Jerry Blackwell.
  18. The show with Jake Roberts was good when they were talking about old times, but Holy Fuck did they sound awful when they were going on like a couple of old out of touch geezers from Kafaybe Memories talking about how "there are no rules anymore, no one works limbs" while both of those and most other old man whiny tropes aren't actually real anymore. And Austin, Jericho, and JR all having Lita on in the same week is dopey. You'd think they could work out a deal so something that stupid and Amateur doesn't happen. Especially since Austin will always be the better interviewer.
  19. Inebriation wasn't the problem. One of my pals over for the show made a batch of weed moon pies that were way powerful. So powerful that I was in no shape to talk, mix with my overwhelming glee at the show and it would have been shitty radio.
  20. Finished listening back and while this was a good show that was fun to do, bury it. Cause we all come off wrong and dopey. LOL
  21. I'm at the Shield talk and holy shit we all just sound so wrong about almost everything so far. Bury this show in a vault.
