Observer HOF prediction/ballot question thread
jushin muta liger replied to dkookypunk43's topic in Megathread archive
CIMA has the influence for this modern Dragon Gate style but it seems criminal that Gran Hamada is not in if CIMA gets in. Daniel Bryan is automatic lock off of ring work alone and will probably be the first guy from the modern indies to get into the WON HOF. You can't judge off of being a draw because the business was monopolized in America. AJ will get some votes cause of his two years but will probably get a disappointing vote total. Nakamura is an interesting case because he got pushed as a supernova right out of the gate and had to re-invent himself to stay relevant later in his career and it worked. Orton doesn't stand a chance of getting in. -
I don't think Bill is being hypocritical at all. I like Bill and I went back to reread his earlier posts in the thread and we pretty much have the same view point. But for me, I felt guilty in enjoying that spot especially since now that I saw the Instagram slow mo and how on the NXT show cut really cut quick before she landed in last night's TV highlights where they had phantom cam stuff of the show (which looks really good btw)

I'm gonna have to disagree with Bill on this one. I thought it was a crazy spot when I saw it live but I thought it was incredible once that I knew she was ok. After watching that, I think it's a insane spot coupled with the dive she almost killed herself on in the Summerslam match. Hopefully this is something that she does only once and she can chalk it as one of the crazy things she does in her 20s.

Started listening to this on my way to work this morning and I'm enjoying the show. Naylor talking about the Evolve/WWE relationship is interesting and him saying that "the writers write for an audience of three" should be framed and shown to everyone who questions why WWE can't do anything right booking wise.

Took the words out of my mouth. With WWE I think for them, they have to go even harder with the charity work because of the general public's view of the WWE as a circus. It's important for them to project that image compared to other performers/athletes. I've heard and met people who have met WWE talent and said that they are the nicest and personable compared to athletes and actors.

PTBN Reaction Show: NXT Takeover Brooklyn
jushin muta liger replied to goodhelmet's topic in Publications and Podcasts
With the Bayley botch off the top nearly killing herself, she was going for a rana off the top and Sasha just held on. Seen Bayley pull it off at the Fatal 4 Way match they had in February. Doesn't fully excuse her from the botch but it made me realize what she was trying to do. -
I think that is the only thing blocking me from falling in love with Lucha. I've been watching a lot more Lucha than I've had in years and the mat based Lucha is something I have a hard time with because you can see them feeding limbs to each other from a mile away.

Maybe Meek Mill and Rick Ross doing "I'm a Boss" at Mania but I think that song might be too hard for her.

WWE cut all ties with Hulk Hogan
jushin muta liger replied to ButchReedMark's topic in Pro Wrestling
As a black man, I'm not surprised but disappointed in Hogan for saying those things cause he got me into wrestling as a child. For WWE, getting rid as judge of Tough Enough is the right move coming off them voting off the only black contestant they had. However for WWE to get rid of any reference of him on their site is pretty ridiculous since they still have Michael Hayes and oh yeah ... the guy who runs the company who like black stereotypes. And that's what most people are making fun of the WWE and Hogan in general. There wasn't a social campaign to get Hogan out of WWE like when that woman on Twitter who was sending racist tweets who traveled to Africa last year that was representing a PR firm. Just comedy cause how racist WWE has been for years now. -
I am a big fan of Sasha Banks and when I think of her on the main roster, her potential can go in two ways. In terms of her wrestling wise, she might be the best women's wrestler WWE has had and I'm not saying it in hyperbole. And that is a testament to all of the trainers down in Florida cause she didn't a have a big buzz of heralded work coming off the Indies. With that, she can a multitude of great matches on the main roster with the Charlotte and Becky and I get the feeling that all 3 of them have a chip on their shoulders. Plus watching that backstage video of Stephanie praising them helps cause they have behind the scenes support. If Vince goes the other way with this and still wants to push Eva Marie and Lana, then Sasha's prime years will definitely be squandered unless like other posters have said, they sign more talent the caliber as her. Now the other way I look at Sasha is that if she doesn't get the opportunities on the main roster to wrestle then I think she still can become a mainstream star. As much as they like Eva Marie, Sasha is the one I can see being on Total Divas in a year or so. She looks like a star and has unique backstory that can open up doors for her in other avenues.

Jushin Thunder Liger vs. Tyler Breeze at NXT Takeover in Brooklyn on 8/22
jushin muta liger replied to KrisZ's topic in WWE
I legit marked out when I saw this Twitter. It sucks that I can't go to this live cause prior commitments but if anybody told me that Jushin Liger would be in a WWE ring in 2015, I would've driven that person to a mental hospital. -
This is not the news I was expecting when I landed from my plane ride. This just sucks. RIP to The American Dream.

When I subscribed, Bryan had a thing for Alicia Fox so I guess it has carried over to Naomi. From reading the previous posts, the bit sounds out there for B&V standards. But I haven't heard it, so I can't judge if I should get offended or not.

PTBN Reaction Show-BOTSJ Finals
jushin muta liger replied to shoe's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Good show but the guy sitting next to Liger during the final was not Kanemoto. It was Milano Collection AT. He won BOTSJ in 07. -

Loved the show, love the title of this individual show and now I'm watching Nick Gage promos on YouTube. -
do we need era adjustments for drawing power?

THE MOOKIE SIGNAL! -
But it took Vince from 96 to 98 to get them to that level. WCW could have did something with those same guys in that timeframe along with Goldberg but they didn't. It basically sums up WCW's story in a nutshell since they had Foley and Austin before.

The show was ok considering that I had problems with the Network on my phone cause I was away from my own place. The Owens/Cena match stood out the most and I don't care that it was a spot fest. It was great cause they made a new guy in the main event scene. I'm not even a Kevin Owens fan (I even used to avoid Steen matches when he was on the Indies) but he was great here. I was so surprised that they did this with him instead Bray Wyatt and Rusev. Everyone is saying that Owens is going to lose for the rest of the year but I don't think so. I hope they go with the Undertaker vs Mankind formula that blew my mind as a kid in 96 where Taker won on house shows but Mankind beat Taker legit on TV. Those kids at the PPV felt the same way I did when Mankind beat Take at KOTR 96.

Kane an Observer Hall of Famer????
jushin muta liger replied to dkookypunk43's topic in Pro Wrestling
Saying Kane is a hall of famer is like saying Horace Grant is a hall of fame basketball player. Reliable big man that was with great players most of his run - yes One of the greats of all time - No -
It's entirely possible Joe didn't know about this. Very true. But didn't Joe just get booked for some future ROH shows?
-
No, it wasn't. The two promo pics/posters for the recent tour had Owens, Balor, Sasha and Charlotte on one and Owens, Balor, Zayn, Sasha, Charlotte and Bailey on the other.

Unless WWE is scurrying to edit Samoa Joe off the show they are posting today on the Network, they must have known about this in advance when Joe signed the deal. Either that or Joe is a hell of a business man cause he's about to be on national TV with Ring of Honor and global distribution ( WWE Network & Hulu) with NXT.
