Robbins Arroyo LLP, a shareholders rights law firm, filed suit on 7/25 in U.S. District Court on Connecticut against the WWE on behalf of all people who purchased stock between 10/31 and 5/18. The lawsuit accuses WWE of making false and misleading statements concerning the company’s ability to double its U.S. television rights. They certainly strongly hinted at it, forever citing the NASCAR television deal and comparisons of WWE ratings to NASCAR ratings, which were similar. Vince McMahon also told an investor at a conference when he suggested that the U.S. television rights could double, Vince said to Brad Safalow on a conference call that “If we don’t double, I’ll let you put me in a hammerlock.” There were no guarantees stated, but based on how he said it, he was talking about far more than doubling, as if doubling would be well under expectations. The complaint alleges that during that period, WWE officers issued materially false and misleading statements in filings, press releases and conference calls regarding their ability to double their U.S. television licensing agreements. In 2013, WWE took in $106 million in U.S. television revenue, a number that also included Main Event (since canceled by Ion and put on the network) and several months of Saturday Morning Slam (canceled by CW), as well as Total Divas. The new deal is estimated at being at $132 million for the 2014-15 season for Raw & Smackdown. That doesn’t include Total Divas, which, if two seasons air this year, would up the total by around $10 million. But there is no guarantee Total Divas will have two seasons in 2014-15, as shows like that usually don’t have a long shelf life, even though Total Divas has done well in the ratings so far and appears to have some legs left. The lawsuit stated that WWE, when presenting ratings comparisons with NASCAR and the NBA, never mentioned advertisers pay far less for WWE television spots and thus, even with similar ratings, the value of the programming to stations isn’t there. They also claimed WWE never told its stockholders that the launch of the WWE Network would hurt them in television negotiations. That is true, nobody ever said that beforehand that the launch could impact talks. I was surprised Vince McMahon outright said after the new deal came in and the stock price dropped so hard, that the launch of the network did hurt them in negotiations. People who purchased stock during that period have 60 days from 7/25 to join into the lawsuit. They also provided an 800-350-6003 number for such stockholders

Sheamus missed last week’s television with a serious case of the flu. They were scheduled to start a Sheamus vs. Rusev U.S. title program at the tapings. He was at the building, at least for sure in Orlando, but was unable to wrestle. This week he was not at TV, as he was in Ireland, and there have been no U.S. title programs set up for SummerSlam. There was talk of Sheamus losing the U.S. title to Rusev as a way to increase Rusev & Lana’s Anti-American heat. That still could happen down the line.

According to WWE's website it employes 700 plus. So 70 guys are going to go? How many of those are going to come from the main roster? Ricardo getting the axe really sucks as I feel he was making a good contribution to the Spanish commentating team. I would say that this would be the year for Rosa Mendes, but she is going to be on Total Divas Season 3. I can see Tamina and Cameron getting the axe.

Lame. We knew it was going to be UFC news but I was hoping for more wrestling drama.

Yeah, nothing worse than the Wrestling Observer reporting on non-wrestling stuff to me. But I know it's part of the show now, so I just avoid it altogether. I still don't believe in this magically, ficticious world of cross-over appeal between wrestling & MMA.

Also wouldn't be surprised to see women from Total Divas get the axe. I assume they have some episodes in the can already. If not, they can just put another girl in there. Women like Rosa, Cameron & that don't really add anything at all to WWE.

today is going to be an historic day for all the wrong reasons, isn't it? I think there is a good chance that a few semi top guys or upper midcarders are going to get the axe. I'm thinking in the Del Rio Ziggler range And like Coffey said a few of the total divas

here's Hunter breaking character and cracking up on Monday while the cameras were off him (I assume). Their kids were in the front row with Linda McMahon so I assume it has to do something with them (or something with Steph/Brie or Jericho)

Or he found Chris Jericho's 2001 routine hilarious in its irony.

I just watched Bryan/HHH and Shield/Wyatts from EC last night.

Bryan/HHH was the best approximation of an ROH style match I've ever seen in WWE. HHH using a bunch of new spots hurts the drama when you know that 99% of the time finishers get the win. Probably my favourite HHH match ever...and it wasn't until the 2 Man Power Trip that I started to dislike him as a rule. As the match kept going I was having this weird sense of deja vu. It felt like I'd seen Bryan wrestle someone like HHH in ROH/PWG/EVOLVE/DGUSA but my usually excellent memory can't think of anyone who resembled HHH's gameplan/moveset. It was like Jimmy Rave and Eddie Edwards sinned against humanity and gave birth to some HHH-looking abomination. The selling was a lot better than at least half of Bryan's opponents before he was signed.

It really isn't much of a surprise that Bryan ended up with some big injuries after Mania. He did some dives that Great Sasuke would have reconsidered and stopped short on. On the night of his WrestleMania moment he was wrestling like there was no tomorrow.

What the heck was Stephanie wearing at WrestleMania? Did she feel she needed to "outskirt" Lana? Not many women her age (my age too) would think of wearing something like that. Kids in the first rows would have seen where babies come from if she had to lean over more than 45 degrees.

Shield/Wyatts was a little disappointing. I was thinking it would blow away the Bryan/HHH match but I actually liked the Mania match more. The Shield always had some goofy offense. They didn't bust out all of their odd-looking trademark moves in that particular match though. For some reason I thought it was a texas tornado match. When things settled down into a tag format I was confused. I'm not sure which would be a better match but it is too late now for that street fight/texas tornado style to compare it with. I thought the match was really good but the build up was better than the match from my experience.

Easy, easy... she looked great.
