goodhelmet Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Do my eyes deceive me or am I actually seeing people on PWO get excited for Cena vs. Rusev? That shouldn't surprise you. People here have been praising Cena in big time matches for years and Rusev has also been praised heavily at this board. It doesn't hurt that he is the one heel they have actually bothered to protect in the past year.
Mini Bennett Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 I agree it should be fun. I just remember people here immediately shiting on the idea when it was first brought up maybe a month ago.
The Chief Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Oh Christ, they're really running with Bray Wyatt vs. Undertaker.
Jmare007 Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 I agree it should be fun. I just remember people here immediately shiting on the idea when it was first brought up maybe a month ago. I think people are afraid Rusev's undefeated streak goes to Cena, a guy who doesn't need it. But there's no doubt the match(es) will be very good-great.
sek69 Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 So how exactly is having both guys act heelish supposed to get Reigns and Bryan more over?
Matt D Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 America loves jerks? As for Cena/Rusev, I think everyone's excited for that, at Wrestlemania 32.

I think everyone wants a Cena-Rusev program... that makes Rusev stronger.
hammerva Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 So apparently Roman Reigns strategy tonight was to tell people how boring Big Show vs Daniel Bryan is. Unlike Bryan who can actually talk about a match without sending like a dolt
goodhelmet Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 OK, someone was gong to ask anyway.... who was helping Hugh Morrus hold Roman Reigns back at the end?
Matt D Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 I thought Bryan was dangerously good on commentary, to the point where JBL obviously got the instruction to steer the conversation back to the match.
cm funk Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 That was a pretty good brawl between Reigns and Bryan to close the show Pretty good RAW tonight overall, much better than it has been lately and a pretty strong go-home show I thought

I think everyone wants a Cena-Rusev program... that makes Rusev stronger. Totally true, but this idea that every unbeaten streak needs to be broken by some up and comer who "needs it" is flawed. If that happened every time it'd be predictable. Underdogs can't win in that scenario every time, then they wouldn't be underdogs. Sometimes the monster heel who's unbeaten needs to get beat by the top dog. But just not their first match.
Strummer Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 That was actually a hot segment at the end. Both looked like big stars there. So the logical finish for the PPV is Brock coming in to destroy both guys or do they just have Reigns go over (Sheamus return?)

I think what you're hearing is the combined scream of "No, not yet!"
Strummer Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Hey the first Raw in forever not to have a 25 minute long Authority promo and I really liked the show.
KrisZ Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 OK, someone was gong to ask anyway.... who was helping Hugh Morrus hold Roman Reigns back at the end? Robbie Brookside & Norman Smiley were out there
NintendoLogic Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 I recall being met with disbelief when I suggested that the plan was to build Rusev up to feed to Cena. Also, Reigns no-selling the chairshot in that brawl was pretty bad.
The Chief Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 And hey, the Prime Time Players are back! But those Ascension matches will not be pretty.
Matt D Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Hopefully Gold vs Star gets 12 minutes at Mania and they just have a talking segment at FastLane.

I agree with you that the top dog vs an unbeaten streak is money and should be won by the Ace from time to time. But when it comes to Cena, at point it really just a waste imo, there's much more to win from him not beating Rusev than him overcoming another challenge. Also, when was the last time an unbeaten streak was important in WWE and they gave it to an underdog? I don't see that scenario being predictable at all in today's WWE.
sek69 Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 I thought Bryan was dangerously good on commentary, to the point where JBL obviously got the instruction to steer the conversation back to the match. I noticed this too, it's like they can't help pointing out how much better he is in all aspects.

Christian and the Usos beat the Shield and people shit all over it despite it making perfect sense. That match was after Bryan/Orton/Kane defeated The Shield for the first time and ended their streak. That series of matches on SD! and that win helped Bryan a lot to gain the momentum that made WWE decide to put him against Cena at Summerslam. The "weak link" won and it started a huge thing for the guy. I wasn't bothered by Christian/Usos winning that match on SD! though, it helped build their a title match at the next PPV.
Johnny Sorrow Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Oh that's right, wasn't its Shield's first free TV loss or some shit? Anyway, there was a lot of people not understanding that the Shield were being cocky and were taking Christian and the Usos lightly, so they lose. It made the Shield show a little ass ,but not look weak at all... and returning Christian and just at the cusp Usos look great.
tigerpride Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 No, the Shield's first loss was on Smackdown against D-Bry/Kane/Orton.
