BrianB
Well back in 2006-2007 he put over London and Kendrick like a maniac and right now he's putting over American Alpha like gangbusters. True. But him putting over AA is further proof that he's not exactly a heel commentator. I don't know if he's really getting them over either, though we'll have to wait and see. MikeCampbell
He hasn't struck me as a "heel" commentator in a long time. A few years ago, he did that angle where he tried standing up for Lawler against the Wyatt Family.

The idea of a heel commentator who only likes the heels and always hates the good guys is too limiting and silly. That's why Jesse and Monsoon were so great together. For the most part neither was completely one way or another.
sek69
I went back and watched Hardcore Heaven 95 since I've been thinking that perhaps I'm too harsh on ECW by saying it doesn't hold up. It was actually a little better than I remembered, but man is it depressing as fuck to watch knowing how most of the people involved turn out. The Thread Killer
Watching old wrestling can be incredibly depressing, especially old ECW or even Attitude Era shows. It's shows what a sad state things are in, when a few weeks ago I was watching a match on the WWE Network and exclaimed: "Hey! Everybody in this match is still alive today!" My roommate looked at me like I was insane, and asked if that isn't the case with most matches? I had to explain that frequently that doesn't happen. Just off the top of my head I told her about the main event of Canadian Stampede. 10 man tag match with 4 of the stars gone well before their time. I don't know which show it is, but a friend of mine told me about a major WWE PPV he saw on the network where thought there might be more deceased wrestlers on the show than those who are still alive. (Deceased now. They were alive at the time of the show.)
Rah
WWF Summerslam 1990 has 11 deceased of the 26 wrestlers that took part. I don't think there's a higher number than that. Maybe Wrestlemania 10?
The Thread Killer
I think that is the one. There are 11 matches on that show, and if you count every talent under contract who was involved in that show in a visible role, (managers/seconds, special guest referees, and the color commentator that night) you get... Hercules Kerry Von Erich Curt Hennig Sherri Martel Sapphire Crush Bad News Brown Big Bossman Randy Savage Dusty Rhodes Earthquake Dino Bravo The Ultimate Warrior Rick Rude Roddy Piper That's 15 names. You're right about Wrestlemania X, there are 10 matches and 10 of the actual wrestlers on that show are gone. That is depressing.
Al
Wrestlemania X's percentage would've fared better if the heels picked a captain.
JRH
Not trying to make this thread too depressing, but King of the Ring 94 also qualifies, only 2 matches have both competitors still alive (not counting the Razor/IRS semifinal match or the Kwang/Holly dark match), and all 3 members of the broadcast team are no longer with us either. sek69
On a happier note, Xavier Woods' UpUpDownDown video game show got its own section on the network today. I know he's not everyone's cup of tea here but you gotta respect dude's hustle.
Robert S
The PS3 app is a buggy piece of shit. I have already become used to the occasional crash and that shows sometimes don't want to disappear from the "continue watching" list, but for some weeks the thing has become much worse. Now sometimes when I start the application the "continue watching" list is just plain empty, sometimes a restart of the the app helps, currently it does not. In addition I have also seen shows that I have never watched or that I finished watching months ago appear at the top of the "continue watching" list. That the whole thing usability-wise lacks the most obvious features (like list WWE shows in a chronological order) I probably don't have to mention. sek69
It seems like they have pretty much given up on last gen consoles, since they never really fixed the 360 version either. The PS4/X1 versions seem to work pretty well though.
Hawkeye12
They've updated most of the 1986-89 WCW episodes now, including the 9/17/88 episode that had never aired previously. What other episodes were pre-empted or "joined in progress" over the years to be on the lookout for?
The Chief
Is it just my app or are the new 89 episodes pretty bad? I mean tape quality bad. I can barely hear these unless my volume is cranked up to the top.

What other episodes were pre-empted or "joined in progress" over the years to be on the lookout for? There's an 89 episode that was accidentally not aired, I want to say in June. If there's no gaps in 89, there's a new one in there.
Lee
During SmackDown this week they actually started uploading Eddie Gilbert/pre-Paul Heyman era ECW. Three episodes so far, 13, 17 and 18, from when it was just a glorified bar show early 90s indy group that happened to have TV and could book a few 80s WWF names who lived locally. Phil Austin
There was an update to the PS3 app a couple of days ago that (and I say this with a whisper) seems to have made it work considerably better than before.

Yeah, I figured they'd just plough on with Smackdown uploads to mirror the mid-2000s Raws but to get late 80s NWA and now these early ECW shows is a pleasant surprise. sek69
I know there's debate elsewhere on Mr. Fuji and if he was any good or not. I don't really have any strong opinions one way or another, but seeing a whole collection put up on the network for him made me think he really must have known where the bodies were buried. sek69
Oh come on. To steal a JR-ism, lighten up Francis. Obviously I was making a joke about how A. there's been more important people who've passed on who never got a whole section devoted to them and B. all the comments about how he had a job for life for being the clean up man. Stiva
I've just cancelled my subscription for the network (not out of protest or anything, I'm just in a position where I need to save some money) and it gives you reasons to click as to why you're cancelling. That's normal enough but when you click each one, it offers a reason for you to stay. So, one of them is "I can't find anything I like" to which it says something like "Do you know you can use our Collections feature?" etc which is fair enough but under "I don't enjoy the programming" (or similar), it says "WWE Network has drama, reality, comedy and family shows. Something for everyone! and under "I don't have the money" it says "Did you know: One year of WWE Network costs less than one month of cable?!" Like, yeah, I know all of those things but sorry that 'Holy Foley' isn't quite as engrossing as 'The Americans' Not a big deal and I understand why it's there (to try and valiantly tempt people back in, I guess) but Vince's "Why you watching Richard Pryor, we've got Santino!" line to Freddie Prinze Jr came to mind and made me laugh. Netflix? Stranger Things? Pah, there's some new episodes of Swerved to binge watch!
