Very first wrestling show you attended?

I was on thehistoryofwwe.com and came across the card for the very first wrestling show I attended.

The one and only time the WWF/E has ever put on a show in Brockville.

WWF @ Brockville, Ontario - Memorial Centre - May 26, 1993
Tatanka defeated Razor Ramon
Doink the Clown defeated Crush
Owen Hart defeated Terry Taylor
The Undertaker defeated Giant Gonzalez
WWF Tag Team Champions Ted Dibiase & IRS defeated Rick & Scott Steiner

I actually remember a lot of this. Giant Gonzalez was huge in person. Looking back, this show isn't so bad actually.

What do you guys have as your first?

WWF @ Barcelona, Spain - Palau Sant Jordi - October 5, 1991 (19,000)
Televised on Tele5
Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty defeated Paul Roma & Hercules at 10:54 when Michaels pinned Roma with a roll up after Hercules accidentally hit his own partner with the steel chain
The Mountie (w/ Jimmy Hart) defeated the Big Bossman via count-out at 9:17 when the Bossman chased Hart up the aisle after hitting the sidewalk slam on the Mountie; after the bout, Bossman assaulted the Mountie with the nightstick
Roddy Piper pinned the Barbarian with a sunset flip at 6:31 (World Tour 92)
Davey Boy Smith (w/ Andre the Giant) pinned Earthquake with a powerslam at 8:15 after Andre hit Earthquake with one of his crutches (World Tour 92, "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith )
WWF Superstars (French & Italian versions): Typhoon (w/ Jimmy Hart) defeated Jim Duggan via disqualification at 8:43 when Duggan used his 2x4 as a weapon; late in the bout, Typhoon tried to use the weapon behind the referee's back but was stopped by Duggan
WWF Superstars (Italian version): WWF Tag Team Champions the Legion of Doom defeated the Nasty Boys (w/ Jimmy Hart) at 11:40 when Road Warrior Hawk pinned Jerry Saggs with the clothesline off the top as Saggs attempted a piledriver to Road Warrior Animal
Ric Flair pinned Kerry Von Erich at 15:15 after knocking Von Erich down with a shoulder through the ropes as he stood on the apron and then sliding in the ring and putting his feet on the ropes for leverage during the cover (WWF Wrestling World Tour)
Tito Santana pinned the Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) at 13:53 after escaping from the bodybag, hitting three piledrivers, stealing the urn from Bearer, and hitting Taker with it; after the bout, Santana was interviewed at ringside

Some notes...

17,000+ was the number announced at the arena and it was a legit European indoor attendance record at the time.

If you had asked me to tell you every match on this card I'd have missed the first one. I forgot Shawn Michaels was on the first match I ever saw live.

Match order is incorrect and it looks like somebody was taking a guess. LOD vs Nastys was the main (interesting enough, Summer Slam had not aired on TV yet so we did not know LOD were the champs), Santana vs Taker was the semi and Flair was third from the bottom (not from the top).

Santana beating Undertaker is one of those things that could have never happened in the internet world. I have a clear memory of how fake the three piledrivers looked live.

If I told you who the most over heel on this show was, you'd never guess it was Tugboat. People vividly remember him turning on Hogan.

Maybe 10 people in the arena knew who Ric Flair was. This is because he had not debuted on WWF TV yet in Spain. I knew who he was because of the magazines, and because I had seen him several times on NWA Pro TV (which I could get on a station 100 miles south of Barcelona where I'd sometimes go camping). This was an easy crowd but he was getting a reaction that most heels today would kill for.

If I can remember an earlier card I will put it but I think this is the one. Ten year old me made signs for Lesnar and RVD. One of those sickens me.

From thehistoryofwwe.com. I went with my Dad with press passes given to us by an uncle. It turns out that press pass = no seats. I had fun anyway and became a lifelong fan.

WWF @ Columbus, OH - Ohio Center - July 25, 1986
WWF IC Champion Randy Savage vs. the Junkyard Dog
Adrian Adonis vs. George Steele
Nikolai Volkoff vs. Cpl. Kirchner (Boot Camp match)

That's all Graham's site has and I can remember very little else. Paul Roma-Iron Mike Sharpe was the opener, which ended with Sharpe in a sleeper and I can't remember if Roma won or if the time limit expired. There's a women's match between Black Venus and somebody, possibly Moolah. Steele didn't wrestle Adonis--he wrestled Iron Sheik. George was well into his "special" babyface gimmick but I still wanted to crawl under my seat anyway when he came out, I think because I thought he might come over the guardrail into the bleachers and eat me not because he was an evil monster, but because he just didn't know any better. During intermission, Steele came back out and invited fans to come into the ring and chew on turnbuckles with him.

Lilian Garcia made the mistake of introducing Triple H as the "former World Heavyweight champion"..

Triple H ran down the ramp and chased Lilian Garcia through the crowd and out of the arena!

Triple H tries to help Batista up, but instead leaves the ring in disgust by himself..

BACKSTAGE: Trish Stratus & Lita..

Trish Stratus sarcastically asks Lita (The walking kiss of death) who's career she's going to end tonight?

~When Trish Stratus interrupted the Kane and Lita wedding and offering to be the maid of honor..

Lita took a sick bump on the outside early on, landing in a scarry position after performing a tope on Trish..

Lita pinned Trish Stratus after a Moonsault to capture the Woman's championship!!!

My parents refused to enable my wrestling fanhood by taking me to a show as a child, so my first ever show was an NWA:UK Hammerlock show in Leamington with my friends when I was 17. I remember very little of the card, except a one night tournament was won by a guy called (I think) the Kung Fu Kid, and Jon Ritchie, Paul Vault and Jon Ryan were on the card. My friends and I became big fans of the heel Ryan after he asked a large woman on the front row if they'd charged her double to come in "because you're so bloody fat".

Oh, and local wrestler Majik got a lot of heel heat by announcing himself as hailing from Coventry, which is only 10 miles down the road and, as far as I know, has no rivalry with Leamington.

"You want to cheer Sid over Hogan? Let's see you cheer for this, assholes."

My first show was a Lars Anderson owned promotion that came to town called World League Wrestling. That would have been either late 1979 or early 1980. Lars Anderson (Champion) vs. The Bounty Hunter was the main event. It was low rent but fun. WLW had TV based out of Duluth that we got for some time and they came back a few times after that show. I've looked for tape of the TV for decades but have never found any, which I guess isn't surprising since it would have been on right around when VCRs first became available to the public as a whole (at about a grand per).

I went to a number of UK based shows in the 80's but have very little memory of where or when beyond one show at Dunstable's Queensway Hall...so the first show I can genuinely remember was this:

WWF @ London, England - Wembley Arena - October 4, 1991 (12,000; sell out)
Tito Santana defeated the Barbarian
Jim Duggan fought Typhoon to a double count-out
Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty defeated Hercules & Paul Roma when Jannetty pinned Roma
The Big Bossman defeated the Mountie
Ric Flair pinned Kerry Von Erich with his feet on the ropes
Davey Boy Smith (w/ Andre the Giant) pinned Earthquake after hitting him with Andre's crutch
The Undertaker defeated Roddy Piper via disqualification when Piper used the urn as a weapon
WWF Tag Team Champions the Legion of Doom defeated the Nasty Boys when Road Warrior Hawk pinned Sags

The sheer volume of legendary guys under one roof was lost on me until just now...

NWA @ Little Rock, AR - April 19, 1989

Not the first show I saw, but the first one I specifically remember. Cawthon doesn't have a card posted, but the main event was Ric Flair & Michael Hayes vs Lex Luger & Ricky Steamboat. People next to us also got ejected for spitting at the Samoan Swat Team.

I later went to a WCW house show in the summer of 1992 where for whatever reason, the audience HATED Madusa -- so much in fact that she hugged the ringpost all night long while fans called her a C U Next Tuesday and a "gutterslut". Lovely.

WCW @ London, England - Arena - November 10, 2000 (9,138)
Monday Nitro - 11/13/00:
WCW Hardcore Champion Crowbar defeated Big Vito
Lethal Lottery: Sting & Scott Steiner defeated Mike Awesome & Bam Bam Bigelow
Lethal Lottery: Kronik defeated WCW World Champion Booker T & Lex Luger
Kevin Nash defeated Chuck Palumbo, Shawn Stasiak & WCW Tag Team Champion Sean O'Haire via disqualification in a handicap match
Ernest Miller defeated Elix Skipper
Bill Goldberg defeated Disco Inferno & Alex Wright in a handicap match
Lance Storm defeated WCW US Champion Hugh Morrus to win the title
Lethal Lottery: Sting & Scott Steiner defeated Kronik

Don't remember much outside of how over Goldberg was, and that Norman Smiley got the 2nd biggest pop for one of the dark matches.

WWF @ Boston, MA - Boston Garden - April 20, 1991 (matinee)
Rick Martel did not appear as scheduled
Bret Hart fought the Barbarian to a draw
Ricky Steamboat defeated Haku
Ted Dibiase defeated Roddy Piper when the referee stopped the bout due to injury
Kerry Von Erich fought the Warlord to a double count-out
Sgt. Slaughter defeated WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan via disqualification
The Berzerker defeated Tugboat
WWF IC Champion Mr. Perfect defeated Davey Boy Smith
Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty defeated the Orient Express

I've told the story before but this is when I, at age 9, got to go backstage and meet Bret right after his match vs the Barbarian. I don't remember anything after Slaughter vs Hogan. Meeting Bret is vivid. The end of the Hogan vs Slaughter match I remember. I remember being disappointed that the building regulations meant that Steamboat couldn't breathe fire. I vaguely remember Piper selling his leg but I couldn't swear by that.

First 2 shows were in 95/96, local Connecticut shows. Can remember absolutely nothing other than buying an Italian Stallion autograph and seeing in the program that "Cactus Jack and Terry Funk may take their feud to New England in the coming months".

This is the show where Shawn and Bret got into a fight backstage and neither were on the show. I'm also on TV briefly when the camera pans up the aisle to Sable selling a T-Shirt. 11 year old boy's eyes have never looked so big.

WWF @ Hartford, CT - Civic Center - June 9, 1997 (7,164)

Nick Barberry defeated Tony Roy
Raw is War - featured Vince McMahon conducting an in-ring interview with WWF Tag Team Champion Steve Austin, during which they showed footage of Austin attacking Brian Pillman the night before as part of the King of the Ring and dunking Pillman's head in the toilet; Austin then talked about facing Pillman later in the show, with McMahon then bringing up the Hart Foundation's challenge for a 5-on-5 match at Canadian Stampede and Austin accepting the challenge of being one of those five men to face the Harts:
The Legion of Doom & Ahmed Johnson defeated Farooq, Crush, & Savio Vega at 5:30
WWF European Champion Davey Boy Smith fought Goldust (w/ Marlena) to a double count-out at 7:30; after the bout, Ken Shamrock made the save for the challenger (Best of Raw Vol. 6)
The Headbangers defeated Doug Furnas & Phil LaFon at 3:38
Rob Van Dam defeated Flash Funk at 4:24
Psycho Sid pinned WWF IC Champion Owen Hart (w/ Jim Neidhart) in a non-title match with the chokeslam at 4:11; Ken Shamrock did guest commentary for the bout and, late in the contest, hit a belly to belly suplex on Neidhart on the floor (Best of Raw Vol. 6)
Rockabilly defeated Bart Gunn at 2:52
Mankind (sub. for WWF Tag Team Champion Steve Austin) defeated Brian Pillman via disqualification at 5:00 when WWF IC Champion Owen Hart, Jim Neidhart, & WWF European Champion Davey Boy Smith interfered as Mankind called for the Mandible Claw; during Austin's entrance, he was attacked in the aisle by Owen, Neidhart, & Smith, with Mankind making the save as several referees came out to send the Hart Foundation backstage; after the bout, Austin came out to fight off the Hart Foundation, with Ken Shamrock following close behind; after the Hart Foundation was cleared from the ring, Austin dropped Shamrock with the Stunner (Best of Raw Vol. 6)
Shotgun - 6/14/97 - hosted by Jim Ross & Brian Pillman, who joined the show after the first match had already started; featured Vince McMahon conducting an in-ring interview with Ahmed Johnson, discussing his match teaming with the Undertaker this Monday on Raw against the new Nation of Domination; Undertaker & Paul Bearer also came out, with Bearer cutting off Taker from speaking and telling Ahmed he would be in charge of the team; Ahmed attempted to reason with Taker to try and leave Bearer, that he and the fans didn't care what the secret was, but Taker left the ring when Bearer told him to but shook Ahmed's hand before he left; featured highlights from last Saturday's ECW Wrestlepalooza show, where Jerry Lawler, Rob Van Dam, & Sabu attacked the ECW roster:

Like Karl, I went to a few uk shows over the years when I was young, but don't really remember what happened during them. Although me and my dad bumped into Giant Haystacks in a supermarket before one of them. We has very cool.

The first WWF event I went to was Summerslam 92. My cousin got punched in the face for wearing a bret hart shirt.
