Sean Liska Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Man, good for Liger. He'll probably be wrestling in front of a sold out crowd at a major NYC arena in in a hyped match, after all these years. No one deserves the validation more than he does. Quote
Matt D Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 That's awesome. I'm waiting for the Prophecy next Quote

WingedEagle Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 What are the bigger picture ramifications of this? Liger isn't taking a booking on his own against NJPW talent a few subway stops away. Any details on all of this yet? Quote

Any details on all of this yet? This is what is really the most interesting part of it. I mean I guess if you're New Japan and WWE asks you, do you want to risk pissing them off? Quote

Loss Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Tyler Breeze is a very good opponent because Liger can do the mocking spots which he's always been great at doing. I *really* hope Liger grabs the phone and starts looking at himself. Quote
hammerva Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 The biggest short term question is how is this impacting the Field of Honor show that as of now is running head to head with NXT Takeover. We still have another month to go but the idea of ROH running a ballpark show at the same time is moronic even if it has more popular New Japan stars Quote
tim Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Just do Taker vs. Liger for Summerslam while they're at it. Quote

The Chief Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Holy crap, this is so random. This would like if they announced, I don't know, Ryback vs Bill Dundee..... I'm sold. Quote

We still have another month to go but the idea of ROH running a ballpark show at the same time is moronic even if it has more popular New Japan stars ROH has done a good advance for this show , almost 1,000 tickets sold so far ... Even with McMahon trying to sabotage the show , ROH will still draw over 2,000 for this show. This could end up being the largest ROH crowd ever. Also it is a sold show, so running the show is not moronic . ROH will make money. However it is sad that the WWE is trying to bury ROH . I guess the WWE is paranoid about Sinclair Broadcasting buying ROH . They is really nothing the WWE can do about ROH . Sure they can run head to head and steal some talent. In the end ROH is still of Sinclair . a much larger and wealthier company than the WWE . Quote
pol Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 If this doesn't convince Sinclair to loosen the purse strings a little at this point nothing will and I think we may see a slow decline for ROH in that case. Meltzer alluded to further political maneuverings between NXT and ROH that have not yet come to light too. Quote

KrisZ Posted July 17, 2015 Author Report Posted July 17, 2015 Per Meltz There are other significant moves being made behind-the-scenes that don't involve New Japan, regarding NXT and ROH that are likely to become evident in short order. Quote
Beast Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Wow, that blows my mind. I should really try and attend one of these NXT shows eventually if they come near New England. Quote

I don't really blame WWE for anything they do to try and boost sales for the NXT show, given ROH wouldn't even be running New York on that date if it wasn't for WWE and Summerslam being there on the same weekend. Johnny Sorrow Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Oliver Stone's next conspiracy bullshit project, "ROH vs NXT", coming to theaters full of nobody. And this the idea that Vince is scared of Sinclair Brosdcasting. Seriously, what kind of weed makes you think that? Cause I want some. Quote
Tim Evans Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 I can't wait for Liger/Breeze. Glad Breeze is on the show as he's been lost in the shuffle for a while. If we can get a Cheeseburger/Liger segment in ROH, I'm hoping HHH books Liger to do Enzo's spiel on NXT. That would make my year. Quote
donsem43 Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 If Liger doesn't come out with his own selfie stick and a bunch of anime cosplay models, then this will just be a huge waste of time. Quote
cheapshot Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 I think it's great that Liger is going to be working in NYC in a large arena for NXT/WWE. I am also very intrigued to what this means in the bigger picture if anything. Quote

jushin muta liger Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 I legit marked out when I saw this Twitter. It sucks that I can't go to this live cause prior commitments but if anybody told me that Jushin Liger would be in a WWE ring in 2015, I would've driven that person to a mental hospital. Quote
