Curious how other people organized their lists. I started off drawing up a dream card, knowing I probably wasn't going to get, say, Owen Hart vs Volk Han 7 spots down my card, but it gave me people to shoot for. Then I had alternates listed under each for when I inevitably lost the primary picks. So if Owen goes, then '92 Bret, if he goes '89 Bill Dundee, and so on. If Takada had fallen through I'd have hoped for Maeda, Inoki, Fujinami, or Fujiwara. Some picks I've got like six alternates for. Some I only had one. The top three I didn't have any, so it's a good thing Williams and the Steiners came through. Plus it's all written out so I can just cross people off as they get picked.

Great idea for discussion, Castlebolt! I like the way you planned it out.

I wanted to put together a very King's Road style roster with a mix of my favourite Japanese guys and gaijin who I feel have what it takes to match up with guys like Hashimoto and Jumbo and to get over in Japan. My dream was to have a singles title, tag title, and six-man title match headlining my super card... And if at all possible to have the top three matches be native vs gaijin, and with a mix of heavy hitters and athleticism and just a touch of nostalgia.

I think the top of my card came together exactly as I had hoped. Now I want to put together at least one each of heavy hitting, athletic and exciting, and nostalgic throwback matches on the undercard, with a slightly heavier emphasis on Japanese talent but hopefully still sniping another two or three of the right sort of gaijin wrestler.

I have been constantly adjusting my proxy list to fit my strategy based on who is on the board. LowBlow has been doing a great job making picks when I'm asleep or at work (living in Japan means that I am on a different time schedule).

The first rounds I picked my favorite of who was available that I could think of, then when I realized I needed a babyface in Round 5 and grabbed Kerry Von Erich, my strategy turned toward building a show. I moved things down to Dallas, and decided that I would put together another Parade of Champions. After that I made my list of people I wanted, and built a potential card. Changes have been made as guys I wanted got drafted, but the basics of what I want to do are still in place. Now we just have to see how the rest of the draft plays out!!

I was thinking of John Nord too, but he kept slipping my memory and never made my proxy list. Ah well, still a lot of big scary looking obscure guys to choose from...

There really are. 1988-1992 is just an incredibly rich pro wrestling talent pool. Wrestlers I absolutely love are still on the board late in round 15. That's pretty amazing.

Welp, Ivan Koloff going just shot my plans all to shit....

Haven't gotten to that level yet but when you took Studd I got close. Thought I could steal him or Orndorff in these last couple rounds

I almost took Studd several rounds ago, but I thought I could keep pushing him out. Glad I grabbed him now!! He was one of my Dad's favorite guys, so when I was a kid he was one of my favorite guys too. Thusly, I wanted him on my show.

Koloff going doesn't totally trash my show, but he was set to be the cornerstone of the heel team in a 6 man tag I am planning!
