Autistic Dragon
A Bunkhouse match makes for a great opener. Royal blames Cooley for his screw up but Wildcat isn't having it. Poor Barr's got no clue what happened. Peterson slamming Boone must've been a incredible sight & I know I would've popped for it. Putski blitz's Kelly & even shuts up the Vin Man Yeah! Glamour Boys win the main event but Hickerson has a backup plan & it works perfectly. If anyone wasn't sold for Collision in the Coliseum, they are now! Idol clamps on the Las Vegas Leglock. The Ref runs around on the outside and listens to see if Perez will quit. Baby Doll's screaming at the Ref. Idol's yelling at the Ref, saying he's out but Perez is shaking his head NO. Zenk and Keirn save the day by attacking Idol and hurling him into the cage. Madril and Taylor run into Ring 2 and have a furious exchange with Zenk and Keirn. Dream slams Bob down and follows with several jumping elbow drops. Rich finally gets up and goes to work on Lawler. Rich pushes Lawler into the corner and hits him with several bionic elbows to his bloody head. Rich grinds Lawler's face into the cage. Everybody is bloody, battered and bruised. Dream swings Bob towards the cage but Bob reverses it and swings Dream into the cage. Bob picks up Dream and hits a Jawbreaker. Bob picks up Dream and drops him with another Jawbreaker. Autistic Dragon
Venomous starts the night with a major win. Blackwell crushes the Beast. Larry Z breaks out a devastating new finisher against the Corporal. Fleming's rear naked choke is as effective as ever. Congratulations to the new National tag team champions, The Technicans. Busick wins one hell of a slugfest to retain his title. Polynesian Power stands tall after a grueling battle with Iaukea's Killers. The incredible reign of El Canek is over thanks to...Greg Gagne, Mike George & Gama Singh. Did NOT see that coming. Thanks to the numbers game, the Bruise Brothers retain. Bad News sends shockwaves through the AWA by defeating Ricky Steamboat. And now what we've all been waiting for, WAR GAMES! Heels win the coin toss because obviously. Love that every time a heel enters the face their feuding with is right behind them. It's also funny to me how the entering heel is knocked on his but while the faces all clear house. Great chaotic ending with the despised Rich being the one to surrender. Another great Spaldoni supershow!
kevinmcfl
Great event with so much going on. I like how you called on previous injuries and things to help develop the matches. I kept thinking Billy Jack Strong was going to beat Bully as you kept mentioning the shoulder. Booking is one thing but writing it in a forum like ours it is often had to paint a picture of what is going on but you did an awesome job! I have always hated Greg Gagne and now I hate him even more! Great booking once again! Mike George has risen from the scrap heap to champion... Good for him! I'm really interested to see what is next for Iaukea. He and Colon have been so violently successful here for the last year or so. Will it continue?  Frenchy is "having a meltdown." That cracked me up. Having Bad News go over Steamboat really solidifies him as a champion. This match had me wondering what was going to happen ever since you announced it. Steamboat is BIG TIME.... Now Bad News is BIGGER TIME! Can't wait to see what's next.  WAR GAMES... so well written... awesome match.... all the fans go home happy! Great job. So where is Gerry Morrow? And we are on to Pay Per View!!! The future is here!
GeneJackson95
Collision at the Coliseum certainly delivered! I've always said it and I still stand by it, no one in the game is more effective at building to a big card and making every match mean something like you Spaldoni! One of your biggest accomplishments IMO is turning Greg Gagne into an effective heel and buy did he bring the heat tonight along with Gama helping Mike George win the International title from El Canek! Bruise Brothers retain the titles....who can stop these guys?? Bad News retains over Steamboat! I think this win was crucial for Bad News to ascend to another level of stardom here....I'm happy to see Bad News reaching way more of this potential in this game than he was able to IRL. WOW.....what a main event the Wargames was! As mentioned it was well booked with everyone crossing paths in the course of the match that needed to and the fans certainly went home happy seeing the dastardly Tommy Rich get his in the end! I hope at some point Ol' Wildfire manages to find his way back to Alabama even if for just a little while. Great show bud!
LowBlowPodcast
So much movement in the AWA. The War Games definitely set the bar pretty high for the gang warfare in Dawn of War. The key for these types of matches are to give shine to everyone ad you did good stuff there. Tommy Rich gets what's coming to him and rightfully so. His run on top has been a standard (once again) for us to try and match. Don't sleep on Bad News being the man either... he is without question the toughest guy on the block and he can go with anyone in the ring. spaldoni
AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 9-9-87  Poison's 'I want action' plays as all the highlights from Collision at the Coliseum is shown. The final shot is Jerry Lawler, Bob Armstrong, Steve Keirn, Tom Zenk and Al Perez standing tall in the cage.  Lance Russell: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Well, you just saw all the highlights and boy did a lot go down at the Alumni Coliseum. Collision at the Coliseum was a tremendous success. We'll be talking a lot more about it throughout tonight's show. Now, a number of wrestlers who participated in that event, especially the WarGames match, are still at home recuperating. However, we have plenty of solid action in store for you. Corporal Kirchner takes on Jesse Barr in our main event. You'll see the new National tag team champs, the Technicians as well as the returning Bruce Hart. Plus, the debut of a new tag team, the Teamsters. And we'll be hearing from the still reigning AWA world champ Bad News Brown. Right now, the controversial new International champ Mike George is slated for action.  AWA International Champ "Marvelous" Mike George w/Greg Gagne vs. Sam Smith Gagne arrogantly leads George to the ring. George is wearing a black boxing robe with 'Marvelous' written in gold letters on the back. George smiles as he unties his robe, opens it up and shows off the International title around his waist. Gagne smiles and points to it as the fans boo. Gagne takes the belt off George's waist and hands it to him. More boos as George holds it up high. After a pure showcase, George wins the match with a Russian Leg Sweep. Gagne then escorts him too ringside.  Resnick: In a shocking upset at Collision, Mike George defeated El Canek for that International.... Gagne: Whoa! Hold on one second Resnick! What do you mean by shocking upset? Mike George is the most technically sound wrestler in the world today. The outcome wasn't surprising at all. So, what's your problem nerd? Resnick: (rolls his eyes) Great to have you back Greg. Gagne: Don't get wise with me. Resnick: Well, I will point out, it took interference from you and a lead pipe from Gama Singh to end El Canek's incredible and honorable reign. How Mike George won the title was far from honorable. Mike, you're not the same man I remember. Mike: Greg, you're right. This doofus has no respect and maybe I should give him a lesson. Gagne: That might be a good idea and I for one, would love to see that. Watch yourself Resnick and for now just shut up and listen. Months ago, I made a promise to my Dad, the great Verne Gagne, that I would make the AWA great again. Well, at Collision, my man Mike George has finally brought pride and prestige back to the AWA by winning the International title. We're going to represent the AWA all over the world and we're going to bring it back up to my Dad's standards. Mike, from the bottom of my heart, congratulations and thank you. This is only the beginning. Mike: Greg, it's my pleasure. This title is for you, me, Verne and the AWA. More boos as Gagne smiles while George holds the title high.  Commercial Break  The Cripplers vs. Vic Dutro and Willie Lopez Kerry nails Lopez with a running high knee, then tags in Oliver. Oliver hops on the middle ropes. Lopez staggers up as Oliver puts him down with a flying forearm blast for the win.  Resnick announces that the Cripplers are the number one contenders to the AWA world tag titles.  Commercial Break  Carlos Colon w/Curtis Iaukea vs. Todd Rooney Colon's wearing a bandage on his head from his Collision match. Colon wins the match with a flying clothesline from the top rope.  Resnick: Carlos, scars from Collison are still visible but nobody can deny your guts. Iaukea: Of course you can't! Carlos Colon is here but where are Polynesian Power? This... Colon interrupts Colon: Jimmy Snuka! We have more to do! Let's finish this! You and me, one on one! No partners! No interference! Just you and me. I challenge you and I know you will accept.  Commercial Break  AWA National Tag Team Champs The Technicians vs. Ben Bauer and Ray Glader The fans give the new champs a standing ovation as they enter the ring. Technicians put on a wrestling clinic. Rheingans hits a gut wrench suplex and Fleming follows that up with the rear naked chokehold for the win. More cheers as the Technicians hold their newly won titles high.  Technicians cut a promo on how proud and excited they are to be champs. They tell Resnick, they're ready for all comers and promise to be fighting champs.  Commercial Break  "The Calgary Flame" Bruce Hart vs. Carl Kellerman Hart comes to the ring wearing a singlet with flames on it. He puts on a good display and wins the match with the Boston Crab.  Resnick: Bruce, it's been awhile since we've seen you. What brings you back to the AWA? Hart: First off I want to congratulate Mike George on his tremendous victory. I can't tell you how happy I am for him and my dear friend Greg Gagne. (Hart looks around and listens to the BOOOOOOS) Listen to these idiots. They obviously have no class. To answer your question, I'm here to help Greg's cause. I'm here to help make the AWA great again. Nick Busick! I'm looking at you and that TV title! It's going to be mine soon.  Commercial Break  Footage from last week is shown as the Glamour Boys defeat Phil Hickerson and Killer Brooks inside the Cage. That's followed by the Midnight Express storming into the cage and beating down the Glamour Boys as Hickerson joins in.  Resnick: Joining me now are The Original Midnight Express along with Phil Hickerson and of course Novell Austin. Thundering boos as they stroll out. Resnick: We all saw what went down last week at Collision Countdown. Pretty low and cowardly if you ask me. Norvell: Funny, I don't remember asking you a damn thing Resnick. Resnick: Ok fine, Phil Hickerson, obviously your issues with the Glamour Boys goes way back, but come on, enough is enough. Phil: I'll decide when it's enough! What happened last week was a thing of beauty. It was flawless. Norvell: Resnick! I told you and all these dummies that the Midnight Express would get the last laugh on those punks. All we had to do was be patient. And then let the magic happen. The plan worked to perfection. I mean, it couldn't have worked out better. Phil gets the last laugh and so do we. Resnick: The Glamour Boys might be down but they're not out. Norvell, Phil and the Midnights share a good laugh. Norvell: Are you kidding me? Those girly boys are through! We won! Phil: Yes we did! Finally! Finally! Finally! I can live in a world free of the Glamour Girls.  Commercial Break  Footage from last week is shown as DJ Peterson body slams Commando Boone  "Dynamite" DJ Peterson vs. Clyde Putnam The crowd's fired up as DJ hits a flying shoulder block from the top rope to get the win.  Resnick: Ok DJ Peterson. Huge news for you. You've been given the opportunity of a lifetime. You're getting an AWA world title shot! How does that feel? DJ: This means everything to me Ken. I've worked my whole life for this and now it's going to happen. I know Bad News Brown is a tremendous champion and it's going to take everything I have in me to win that title. I've been training harder than ever and I've never been more focused. I'm ready Ken. DJ claps his hands and pumps his fists to the cheering fans.  Commercial Break  The camera zooms in on the glowing pink 'Beauty Shop' sign, then pans down to Brenda Britton.  Britton: Hi everybody and welcome to the number one rated segment in wrestling, the Beauty Shop. Oh my, how about Collision at the Coliseum? Thanks to all my hard work, that event was an astounding success and the best part is I might have some credible leads on the whereabouts of Gerry Morrow. Don't worry Gerry, I'll find you! Ok, what a show I have for you tonight. There's a lot of buzz backstage, so let's see what it's all about. My guests are Beauty Shop favorites. I'm talking about "Mr. Magnificent" Kevin Kelly and Vinnie Valentino, the Vin Man, yea! Vin and Kelly give Brenda a hug. Britton: So what's going on Vinnie. I'm sensing something big. Vin: You're a smart woman Brenda, that's why we love you. As you know, Kev and I go way back. I have the upmost love and respect for this guy. I know how great he is, and apparently, I'm not the only one. A gentleman approached us last week with an offer neither one of us could refuse. We had a long talk over dinner, I'm talking a steak dinner Brenda. Britton: Oh classy Vin: Long story short. He has purchased the contract of Kevin Kelly. Britton: What?!?! Wow! What a bombshell! Who is this man? Vin: You're going to love him. Let me introduce you to Professor Bill Ash. Ash walks out wearing a cap and gown and kisses Brenda's hand. Ash: The pleasure is mine Brenda. Vin's told me so much about you. Vinnie, it was also my pleasure to do business with you. Kevin's now a member of the Honor Roll. He's my first piece of what will be the sum total of a tag team. Trust me, Kevin and his soon to be announced Honor Roll partner are going to change the landscape of tag team wrestling. Vinnie, thank you my friend. I'll let you two say goodbye. Vin: This is the best thing for you Kev. Kevin: I know you wouldn't steer me wrong Vin. Thank you for everything, we had a great run, didn't we? Vin: We sure did. Vinnie and Kevin embrace as tears roll down Brenda's cheeks. Britton: Oh my, that was so touching. Until next week, tooooodles.  Commercial Break  Scott "Powerhouse" Putski vs. Stu Jersky Putski puts down Stu with the Polish Hammer.  Resnick: Scott, you've been on quite a roll of late but I understand you have a message to send. Putski: Phil Hickerson, you disgust me! What you and your gang of thugs did last week was a disgrace. Yea, you're a big man Hickerson. Let's see just how tough you really are. I'm calling you out!  Commercial Break  The Teamsters (Spike Huber and Dale Veasey) vs. Keith Romney and Jorge Cruz Teamsters enter the ring wearing jeans, work boots, sunglasses and hard hats. Teamsters put on an impressive debut. They hit a double clothesline on Cruz and finish him off with a double gordbuster. Teamsters cut a promo and say they're the new law and order of the AWA!  Commercial Break  Resnick: Fans, next week Jerry Lawler will be here. I also understand Tommy Rich will also be here. That should be interesting. I still can't believe the punishment they took in the War Games match. TV Champ Nick Busick will be in action, as will the AWA World tag champs the Bruise Brothers. I'll be talking with Gama Singh and his involvement with Greg Gagne. I understand Professor Bill Ash will introduce the other member of his Honor Roll team. All that and a lot more. Our main event when we come back.  Commercial Break  Footage from last week is shown. Nelson Royal is blaming Wendell Cooley for the Wild Bunch's lost to the Cripplers. Cooley hits Nelson with a running bulldog. Resnick announces that both Wendell Cooley and Nelson Royal have left the AWA. Barr's now without a partner and manager.  Corporal Kirchner vs. Jesse Barr The bell rings but I don't think the fans were expecting a total brawl right off the bat. Barr just starts going crazy and attacks Kirchner. Kirchner fires back and both men engage in a furious exchange. They fight to the outside, all around the ring and back inside. Both men take turns pounding away on each other. Once again, they fight to the outside but this time the Ref reaches 10 and both men are counted out. They keep fighting, then just stop. Both men look at each other and give a nod of respect before exiting.  Commercial Break  Resnick: Please welcome out the reigning AWA World Champion, Bad News Brown. Brown comes out wearing a suit, no tie, button down shirt and gold chain. The world title's on his shoulder. He looks like a champ as well as a boss. Resnick: Congratulations on your tremendous victory over Ricky Steamboat at Collision. Ricky is a former world champion and that's quite an accomplishment to defeat him. Brown: Ricky Steamboat is old news! You're looking at the real deal. Aint nobody going to take me down and win this here title! That's a cold hard fact! Resnick: I wont argue with you. Ok, up next for you is DJ Peterson. Brown: DJ Who? Oh wait, yea I know who that spineless cockroach is. Does he really think he's got a chance? He's going to find out the hard way what Bad News Brown is all about. I'm going to beat that kid down so bad, he's gonna wish he never got into this business. And that's Bad News for him! The show ends with Brown raising his fist and title.
Autistic Dragon
Gagne & George make a wonderfully obnoxious duo. Cripplers get a good showcase. Colon is done playing around & wants to finish things with Snuka once & for all! Impressive display from the new National tag team champions. The Calgary Flame is back & his sights are set on the TV title. I think Resnick is right, The Glamour Boys have some fight left in them. Dynamite has the biggest opportunity of his career. But Bad News isn't gonna make it easy for him. So the Vin Man is gone & now Kelly is on the Honor Roll. Let's see where this goes. Putski calls out Hickerson. This could definitely backfire. The Teamsters lay down the law. Interesting angle with Kirchner & Barr. Let's see where it goes. The champ sends us off the air with some hard words for Peterson. GeneJackson95
Your writing has always been excellent here and you've brought us a lot of great things but nothing tops the fact you have managed to inject a personality into Greg F'n Gagne....amazing! Bill Ash is underrated Southern guy I look forward to seeing what you do with him and Mr Magnificent together. You've certainly captured the voice of Bad News and I wouldn't want to be DJ Peterson when he crosses pathes with the champ!
kevinmcfl
Big shift of gears this week for the AWA as we move on from the Coliseum to whatever is next. So many new and interesting things have started over the past few weeks. I HATE Greg Gagne and now I hate Mike George. This is a great was to add some energy to the building in the middle of the card. Speaking of Hate and Gagne, I guess I know hate Bruce Hart. Good way to get him some heat in just a few minutes. I also like the changeup of bringing in the Professor. No matter who uses this type of gimmick, they always get heat and I am sure Ash will be the same. I think it was smart to keep Colon and Snuka going. This one still has a lot of juice!  The fact that you have kept us all interested in Gerry Morrow every week for months without anyone knowing where he is has been fun and annoying to read each week. WHERE IS HE! Well I guess we will have a clue soon. Great slow play booking.  Poor DJ Peterson! Great transition show!
spaldoni
AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 9-16-87  Lance Russell: Hello everybody and welcome to another exciting edition of AWA Major League Wrestling. A lot of action for you tonight including Tom Zenk versus Phil Hickerson in our main event. Also... Thundering boos as Tommy Rich and Baby Doll head out. Baby Doll: Hold on Lance, Wildfire has something to say. Tommy grabs the mic, but the fans start chanting "You Quit! (clap clap) You Quit! (clap clap) Rich: Shut up! I never quit! The fans chants get louder. Rich: Lance! You were there! You saw the War Games. I never said I quit! The chants get louder. Rich: Lawler! It's all your fault! Fans: You Quit! (clap clap) You Quit! Rich: Shut up! That's enough! Lawler! This isn't over! October 1st the AWA will be in your backyard, the Mid South Coliseum. That's exactly where I want it to happen. I'm going to end you right there! You and me! One last match! No DQ! I'm going to put you down in front of all your family, friends and fans! You're history Lawler! Damn it! I hate you so much! Rich and Baby Doll storm off as the fans continue to chant "You Quit!"  Commercial Break  Crusher Blackwell vs. Sam Smith Blackwell hits the big splash and it's all over.  Commercial Break  Venomous w/Gama Singh vs. Del Jenkins and Clyde Putnam Venomous pulls out some high flying offense before winning the match with a double snap suplex. Gama leads them to ringside.  Resnick: Gama, Venomous has been nothing short of impressive and I'm sure they will get a title shot very soon. I'm sorry, but I have to ask you, what is your affiliation with Greg Gagne and why did you interfere and cost El Canek his International title against Mike George? I mean you hit him from behind with a lead pipe. Gama: El Canek was a disgrace to the AWA. He didn't deserve to be a champion. I believe in what Greg Gagne is doing. He wants to make the AWA great again. Well, myself and Venomous are all for that. If El Canek or anyone else has a problem with that, come deal with us! And I don't need a pipe to beat Canek!  Commercial Break  "The Latin Heartthrob" Al Perez vs. Curtis Moore In a pre match interview, Perez says he's looking for a shot at the International title. Perez looks smooth and wins the match with the helicopter drop. The fans cheer as Perez pumps his fists. WHAM! He's nailed from behind by LARRY ZBYSZKO! Larry stomps away on Perez, picks him up and hits a swinging neckbreaker!  Resnick: Larry Zbyszko! What was the meaning of that? Larry: You know Alvin and I had some issues after our split. However, I was willing to let that all go. Then I hear him going on about how he deserves an International title shot. Well, I couldn't let that slide. If anybody deserves a shot at any title, it's me. Not that spudhead Perez. I mean come on! Resnick: Hey, he's a War Games survivor and should get a title shot after what he went through. Larry: (pauses and looks at Resnick with a disgusted look) Greg Gagne wants to make the AWA great again. Well, firing you would be a good start.  Commercial Break  Polynesian Power vs. Todd Rooney and Ray Glader Kokina hits the Samoan drop as Snuka follows with the Superfly Splash for the crowd popping win.  Resnick: Great win guys! Jimmy, last week Carlos Colon challenged you to a fight, one on one, no partners, no managers. What do you think? Snuka: Carlos Colon wants a fight? He's got one brutha! Resnick: There you have it. Oh and Kokina, you haven't been forgotten. I've been told that you get an International title shot on Oct. 1st in Memphis. Great news indeed. Snuka embraces Kokina.  Commercial Break  "The Fabulous One" Steve Keirn vs. Gil Jacobs Keirn survived the War Games and comes back looking better than ever. He hits a devastating reverse DDT for the win!  Commercial Break  The Quebec Coalition w/Frenchy Martin vs. Neil Jordan and Stu Jersky The former National tag team champs aren't in a good mood tonight as they destroy their opponents. Charland hits an inverted piledriver as Lefon follows with a senton for the win! Resnick announces the Quebec Coalition will get a national tag title rematch with the Technicians on Oct. 1st in Memphis. Frenchy cuts an angry promo and says the titles will be back with the Coalition in a matter of weeks.  Commercial Break  Footage from last week is shown as Corporal Kirchner and Jesse Barr battle to a wild double c.o. they keep fighting then stop and nod to each other.  Resnick: I'm standing here with both Jesse Barr and Corporal Kirchner. Kirchner: Jesse, I called you out here for a reason. I've been looking for a tag team partner and after what we did to each other last week, you're definatley what I'm looking for. I need somebody that's tough, rough, ready and a bit unhinged. Barr: You know, I've been through a couple partners here in the AWA and here I am all by myself, again. They couldn't hack it. What makes you any different? Kirchner: Because I know what being a partner is all about. I know what it means to watch somebody's back. You tag with me and I'll prove it. Barr paces swinging his bull rope. Barr: Hell, I guess I've got nothing to lose. Barr and Kirchner shake hands. Resnick: Looks like we're looking at an Uncommon Alliance. Kirchner: Resnick! I like that. Matter a fact, you can call us that. Uncommon Alliance! Kirchner waves the American Flag while Barr swings his bull rope around.  Commercial Break  Billy Jack Strong vs. Rory Wilson Strong presses Wilson over his head and slams him down. Strong picks up Wilson and hits a German Suplex for the win.  Resnick: You and Nick Busick had a barn burner at Collison and in 2 weeks you will get a rematch for the AWA TV title. Strong: Busick! You gave me a fight and I loved it! I took your best move on the concrete and I'm still standing! Your times up. That TV title is mine!  Commercial Break  The camera zooms in on the glowing pink 'Beauty Shop' sign, then pans down to Brenda Britton.  Britton: No time for small talk! I have big news! I wont be here next week because I have a very reliable tip on the whereabouts of Gerry Morrow! I'm coming soon Gerry! Ok, I do have a show to do this week and it's a good one. Last week we all saw the arrival of Professor Bill Ash. He purchased the contract of Kevin Kelly and is forming a team called the Honor Roll. Well, tonight, because it all happens here, we're going to find out who Kelly's partner will be. Please welcome out Professor Ash and Kevin Kelly. Ash and Kelly kiss Brenda's hand. Ash: Brenda, I can't think of a better way to arrive to the AWA then to be on your show, not once but twice! Britton: Awwww, thank you! Ash: As you know, my first piece of the Honor Roll is the Magnificent one himself, Kevin Kelly. Kelly does a double bicep pose. Ash: It's now time for the other piece. Introducing the beast himself, Rip Morgan! Kelly looks puzzled and Brenda backs up as Morgan comes out stomping and huffing. Kelly: Professor, I'm with you but do you really expect me to team with this monster? Ash: I sure do! Think about it. Look at the two of you. You both have size, strength and a mean streak. You guys will tear up the competition. I've thought about this a long time and you two together are unstoppable! You two are the total sum. The Honor Roll is born and I'm so confident in your abilities as a team that I've signed a match against the British Bombers next week in Milwaukee. The Honor Roll is going to beat a top ranked team in their first match! Ash is nodding with approval. Kelly still doesn't look convinced as Morgan continues to huff and stomp around. Britton: Ok, Professor Ash and the Honor Roll aren't wasting any time. Will this work? I think it will. Until next time tooooodles.  Commercial Break  AWA World Tag Team Champs The Bruise Brothers vs. Willie Lopez and Vic Dutro Snowman goes to the outside as Atlas and Cameron are on duty tonight. Atlas and Cameron annihilate their opponents and finish the off with double running axe handles to the head!  The champs cut a promo while doing a lot of flexing. That dope can't lace my boots on his best day! He aint fabulous, he's a nothing! From now on he's Stupid Steve Keirn! Cheers as Keirn comes out. Keirn: You know Idol, you have a big mouth for a guy that got busted up pretty dang bad in the War Games. Idol turns around, then turns back and takes a swing, Keirn ducks and knocks Idol down with a punch. Officials quickly swarm the scene.  Commercial Break  "The Z-Man" Tom Zenk vs. Phil Hickerson w/Norvell Austin Pretty good contrast of styles match. Well fans, please welcome out Jerry "The King" Lawler. Mass ovation as Lawler comes out smiling. Lance Russell: Jerry, your team was victorious at War Games. What an epic match that was. However, Tommy Rich says it isn't over and has challenged you to a No DQ match in Memphis on October 1st. Lawler: Wait, isn't he the guy who quit? Lance laughs as the fans cheer. Lawler: Tommy Rich! One last time in Memphis sounds pretty damn good to me! It all started there and I'm going to finish it there. Lance, I would add an I Quit stipulation to our match, but Tommy already said those words. Lance: (Laughing) Ok fans, it's official. Jerry Lawler vs. Tommy Rich, NO DQ at the Mid South Coliseum on October 1st. I'll see you next week.
Autistic Dragon
Great opening as the fans rub Tommy's surrender in his face. Wildfire blows his top & challenges Lawler to a no DQ match in Memphis. Blackwell gets his reps in. Gama & Venomous take the pledge to make the AWA great again. Larry Z & Perez look ready to settle their issues as both look for a shot at the International title. But before either of them, Kokina gets his shot at the Marvelous one. Keirn gives the ladies something to cheer for. The Coalition are bound & determined to take their titles back. The Uncommon Alliance is born! I'm certainly up for another round of Busick/Strong. Bill Ash shocks everyone as he puts Rip Morgan on the Honor Roll. I'm not sure I share Brenda's confidence. But on the bright side, she finally got a lead on Morrow. The Bruise Brothers send the Cripplers a powerful message. Keirn vs Idol is gonna be fun. Hickerson & Austin make two dangerous enemies in Z-man & Putski. The King has a couple of laughs as he accepts Rich's challenge.
kevinmcfl
Great follow up show to the big one in the Coliseum.. I must disagree with one thing... there can never be a last battle between Rich and Lawler... My favorite feud of all time can never end!!!! Bill Ash and the Honor Roll is a great idea. Love how you built this out of thin air.  While I think you are doing Larry Z perfectly, my opinion of him is changing. I found him in real life to be so boring but his monotone style of talking and giant ego are growing on me. Great job!! Keirn vs Ido is great booking. I think Keirn is so underrated as a singles wrestlers and Idol can get anyone over!! Fun read as always. rainmakerrtv
Zenk and Putski is a pairing that is going to get the ladies' hearts aflutter. Glad to see how you are continuing to use my man Busick. Can't wait to see the next (final?) round of Lawler vs. Rick.

Autistic Dragon
Kokina & The Teamsters gets solid showcases. Kerry gets the win but the Bruise Brothers are the ones standing tall. The Cripplers tag title dreams are in jeopardy. Austin sticks his nose in the Bombers business and gets what's coming to him. Scorpio excites the crowd but Peterson puts him down. The three challengers get a big one over on their respective champions. 60 minutes of Steamboat & Fujinami? Yes please.
GeneJackson95
Wow, after Rich has gotten under the fans skin for so long it looks like they finally got under his! He throws down a major challenge to Lawler....there's no telling what Wildfire has up his sleeve! I agree that it's nice to see Keirn getting a run as a singles here.....he deserved better than Skinner IRL. Could Ms. Brenda be the one to solve the Morrow mystery?? That house show more than delivered but wow what main event with Steamboat vs. Fujinami for an hour! Worth the price of admission alone!! Outsider
I grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan and always heard my uncles and father talk about AWA and it's crazy how many times Hogan came to these WWF C-towns like Sheboygan, Wisconsin, when he was in the AWA. HERE'S A CLIPPING FROM THE LOCAL ARMORY IN THE CITY I WAS BORN IN. I was a baby so I didn't attend but the lineup is full of stars.

Rip Oliver gets to choose his partner in the World Tag Title match. Hart & Putski are putting on a good match until Hickerson & the OGMNE ruin it. Buisick is primed & ready for Billy. Autistic Dragon
Blackwell gets the crowd warmed up. Gama gives his boys a helping hand against the Uncommon Alliance. Larry demands 5 more minutes then bails when he gets what he asks for. Classic. The Honor Roll flunks their first test but Ash in convinced they can get it together. Colon is fed with Iaukea & leaves him laying to the confusion of Snuka & I'm guessing a number of fans. Fujinami gets a chance to flex. Matt Borne is a great match for Rip Oliver. Their feud with the Bruise Brothers is gonna get wild. DJ gives it his all but Bad News is just too much for him to handle.
kevinmcfl
Another great week in the AWA. I am enjoying how you are so playing the feud with Larry Z. and Al Perez. I have such difficulty doing this and you make it seem so easy. This is just so realistic for the 1980's! Bill Ash is the perfect leader for the Honor Roll. He played the role of the Professor so well in real life. Could this be the end of Colon as the evil, crazy heel? Can't wait to see how this plays out. You had me a little nervous with Crippler Oliver getting a mystery partner against the Bruise Brothers! Usually mystery partners = a Win and I thought my favorite team in the game was going to lose their titles!! Borne makes a great teammate and while round one ended in a DCO, this is going to be fun to watch. Also, fun to see Rich and Baby Doll get over on Lawler one more time!!
GeneJackson95
Another great TV! Can't wait to see who Rip Oliver chooses for a partner! From a tag team to feuding Al Perez and Larry Zbyzsko has been a fun ride so far! Skipping ahead to the house asking for 5 more minutes then bailing such good stuff! Rich gets a win on Lawler and goes into their last match with a metric ton of HEAT! Ash needs to get his team on the same page...the Honor Roll has a ton of potential. Rip brings Matt Borne as his partner! I love it! The Bruise Brothers haven't heard the last of those two! Bad News keeps the title but Peterson earns everyone's respect I suspect including Bad News' as well!
