I have been one of Cody's biggest fans. I think his promo run in 2018-19 is all-time classic. He's been running the same playbook with diminishing results for the last two years. Now, is it going to work for some people who haven't seen it, have seen less of it, or just really enjoy it? Yes. It might even get him to the top of WWE. He did this angle with Nick Aldis and I have never seen a crowd as hot as they were for Cody at All In, or as emotional. It may be an incredibly smart choice to manufacture a way to use it again. But if you've seen this guy cry because he's fulfilled the legacy of his father by winning the NWA title, it's a little weird to go back to that well and say "Nah, that wasn't the belt that mattered, it's this one instead!"

Angles get reran all the time. WWE redid Summer of Punk, got over just as much if not more so the 2nd time around.

Totally disagree. Sure, of course he's still a terrific worker, but he also comes off like "some guy who's a terrific worker" as opposed to WALTER. He has lost shitloads of aura to me.

And he has *no shot* in the main roster. None.

Skinny Walter A.K.A. Gunther is weird. It's one of those transformations that can make you wonder in a kayfabe sense if it is the same guy.

Why holy shit? Hasn't this been coming? I haven't been following it too closely.

Basically the allegations were flip flopping in a matter of days, so it was hard to see things having such a definite decision.

I dig Veer. Great look.

Same. Has potential.

Vince's teased punts into the crowd at Mania were a fucking (unintentional) hoot, looking like my grandma trying to punt. I'm positive hyper-masculine Vince can't kick, cant catch, can't throw, can't run, with any shape or sized ball.

Shane's kid out here making me ponder an alternate timeline where Vince played college football.

He's a "preferred walk-on," which is college football carny for "he's not actually good enough to make the team but we're giving him a roster spot in hopes his family will give the school a ton of money."

And to be honest, I'm fine with " Gunther". It's dumb but I always thought Walter was a dumb name too.

In a vacuum, it doesn't really make much difference but it's just stupid to change people's names because the boss has a hard on for complete control. It's one thing to give some recruit in the PC a goofy new name, doing it to an established wrestler both in and out of the WWE system just comes off as insulting to fans. Especially when the crowd is chanting WALTER and both announcers have to claim they really are saying GUNTHER. It just makes everyone involved look stupid as hell.

I even feel like if they change the name of an established guy as soon as they bring them in, people can at least go "Okay WWE is going to WWE."

But this new shit of guys being there for 5 years and having appeared on TV and PPV's under the name everyone knows them by, and then all of a sudden Vince has a whim and they are Gunther and Butch.

I don't even know what to say. It honestly amazes me that this is the same company that booked the Hogan/Andre story, or the MegaPowers exploding, or any of those old angles, because everything they do now just screams "we are throwing shit at the wall and making it up on the spot."
