  1. "We ran three shows a day, seven days a week!"
  2. Based off FPT's comment in the giant TNA thead. Which of them has had been worse for the business over the last ten years?
  3. OMG yes. Jim did a really good job at keeping Greg on track, but once Greg got going, there was no coming back.
  4. It looks like that's how it's going to end up, just like the end of ECW.
  5. Did they say whether or not Gallows is going by Luke Gallows or Doc Gallows?
  6. I did a google search, to make sure I'm not crazy (I still might be, but not about this. . . . ) They credit Meltzer with the report. I let my sub lapse, so I don't know if there's any validity to it, or if they're just using his name for the hell of it. http://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news/backstage-news-why-kassius-ohno-was-fired
  7. I believe it was reported that Hero was released because he was complaining about not being called up to the main roster, and saying the he thought he was better than some of the ones who had.
  8. That's brilliant!
  9. Why is Ambrose/Brock a street fight? Considering where the show is taking place, a Texas Death Match would be more appropriate.
  10. VINCE RUSSO Where do you even begin? David Arquette as the WCW Champion. Vince Russo as the WCW Champion. The Voodoo Kin Mafia. Team Pacman. Beaver Cleavage, GTV. Terri Runnels miscarriage. Judy Bagwell on a forklift. He tries to take credit for everything that was good, including just recently claiming the Montreal screwjob was his idea! And when something didn't work or get over, then it was somebody else's idea or fault. Hell, try to read his blogs, and you'll see that he doesn't even know English. He says shit like Kevin Dunn is always at Vince McMahon's "BECKON CALL" or talks about the great "SEDIMENTS" he has from remembering the glory days of the attitude era.
  11. How well did Steen's involvement in EVOLVE 9 go over?
  12. That story alone is worth the price of the disc/download/stream/etc.
  13. Vince Russo claimed it was all his idea, in his KC Timeline. It took nearly twenty years for the truth to come out! (I hope y'all are picking up the sarcasm, I'm laying it on pretty thick here!)
  14. His issue has always been egregious kayfabe breaches within the wrestling program/exhibition itself. Which he's been much more consistent about. He actually addressed this on the Drive Thru today. It's not that he dislikes the Young Bucks personally, he's always said that he thinks they're good kids. But, he dislikes the goofy shit they do, like giving the kid a birthday superkick.
  15. I think it's a possibility that Ambrose wins for the following reasons: - They have the Wyatt Family right there to screw over Brock. - Ambrose spent the last half of 2014 getting beaten like a drum by Seth Rollins and then Bray Wyatt, and, still wound up being one of a very few that wasn't booed at last year's Royal Rumble. - If what happened with HHH at the Rumble is any indication, then there is no way anyone cheers for Reigns on Sunday. They had the backup plan last year with Daniel Bryan to put him over afterwards, but no such luck this year. - Fast Lane is in Cleveland. Ambrose in from Cincinnati.
  16. There haven't been that many recent ones, honestly. They've been more focused with the WCW Timeline, and the Cornette territories series. The only ones I'm recalling, since Bruno, are 1981 with Martel and 1992 with Bret.
  17. Was this a U.S. Tag Titles match? I'm almost positive that Doom were the World Tag Team Champions at this point.
  18. Great show as always, gentlemen. Brian's story about writing to the WWF and not hearing back, and then lamenting that he should have just written to Linda got a big laugh out of me. The Scott Teal interview was really interesting.
  19. As great as that was, I think they topped it a week later, with the Horsemen beatdown of the Booty Man, and a couple of great promos from Flair and AA.
  20. If they let Kenny King come back, and that fiasco was after ROH was bought by Sinclair, then they'll let anyone come back.
  21. I'm hoping to start watching it this weekend. But, judging from the trailer, it looks like Russo's WWE Timeline may surpass the Larry Zybyszko edition as far as how many whoppers it contains.
  22. You're exactly right with that statement. But, there's a big difference between saying "Brock Lesnar did this, that, and the other thing, and then he gave Big Show the F-5. It was a great match." And saying "Brock did this to Big Show, and it worked for this reason, but, that and the other thing didn't work for this reason, so it was a shitty match.
  23. 1. When you read reviews, do you read the whole thing or just the final paragraph and the rating? It depends on the review. If it's just a recap of the match itself, then no, I don't read the whole thing. 2. If I lost the middle section of mine, would you miss them at all? N/A for me, I don't think I've ever read of of your reviews, Jerry. 3. What are you looking for in a review of a wrestling match? Analysis and discussion of the match. No offense to anyone here, I'm not trying to be a dick, but anyone just can rattle off the list of the spots of a match, and then throw on some snowflakes and call it a day. 4. Who's reviews do you like reading? Why? What do they do well? I'm in the same boat as GOTNW, in that most of the people I liked have moved on from this sort of thing. My old friend JD Dunn, and Dean Rasmussen both come to mind. All I really read nowadays is the stuff in the match discussion folder here. 5. When you are writing your own reviews, what are you looking to achieve? The same thing that I hope to find in reading reviews from other people. Analysis and discussion.
  24. I believe it was lumberjacks with straps due to the way Hennig and Windham won the titles. Chris Benoit finally gets some respect from the WCW booking staff. And, Double-A gets some overdue revenge on Hennig's turn from 18-months earlier.
  25. This is obviously Flair's moment, but Anderson's promo was pretty damn good too. "We don't wear white hats. We're not nice guys!"
