    DDT 11/17/15

Watched this match the other day and liked it a lot. Probably liked Ohka the best in the match, if only for his headbutt-based comeback toward the end. Great heat, good tag structure and really nice home stretch. The lightness of Tanahashi's work was really noticable here though.
  2. I think it was a good length and very well worked. WWE could do with working some short, fast paced main events now and then. In fact, such a style would work well as Reigns' calling card.

    Jimmy Rave

I remember watching that Style match once years ago and thinking it was an unheralded top rate ROH classic. Rave's ROH heel run feels like something a lot more forgotten than it should be, he was really hot and a very unique element in the promotion at the time.
  6. I do think calling it an Iron woman match would have felt a little gimmicky -- in a bad way. The match has always been billed as an Iron man match, obviously, and traditionally is one of the biggest stipulations WWE has, maybe the biggest. Calling it an Iron woman match I think would have immediately set it apart from that legacy, making it feel like a little immitation gimmick to throw to the women. Sort of like a "Lumber jill" match sort of thing, but obviously even then not as bad. Though with the success of this match, and the fact the fans chanted "Iron woman" for it, I think they could bill future matches as an Iron woman match without it feeling lesser.
  7. There have been RAWs in the past couple months worse than last night. The Kane/HR thing was actually amusing, and fun-stupid before the ambulance shit took it to stupid-stupid. Plus the opening segment was great.
  8. I watched it all and have it ranked but the whole thing kind of slipped my mind. It's a shame it didn't get the attention/participation the other sets did. I wonder if there's any way to revitalize interest and sort of do a "reboot" and get more people to go through it, setting the vote for a year from now or something.
  9. New Japan has been the shits for the last year or so, aside from the great Dome show.
  10. Thank God, great news.
  11. I'd rather have had Kane.
  12. That feud is freaking great and I am sure he'd love it. It's one of my favorite series of matches ever. Definitely check out the 2003 tag as well as the ones posted above. Watching all those matches about two years ago now definitely helped me get more excited about Liger again after awhile of not caring too much about the 90s junior stuff, really all-time great performances.
  13. I don't recall that Hardys/MNM match in December ever being pimped. The highly regarded one is at the 2007 Royal Rumble.

    WWE TV 8/24-8/30

Shit, I'm totally okay with Rollins/Sting in a title match. All the other main event programs since Wrestlemania have been so stale, at least it's something new and unexpected.

The divas division was better before the call-ups.
  16. Brock is going to end up having had 3 matches with Undertaker, 3 matches with Triple H and 3 matches with John Cena on his limited schedule. What a fucking joke. Unbelievable how much shit this company can get away with thanks to its monopoly power.
  17. It's insane how much more the crowd reacts to a Cena match than anything else on any show.
  18. That match needed a hot crowd to work and the crowd didn't give a shit.

    NXT TakeOver Brooklyn

I don't think this is anything close to show of the year -- the "big three," Wrestlemania, WrestleKingdom and Ultima Lucha all totally blow it away in my opinion and it's not even close. But it was a very good show with one outstanding match (Bayley/Sasha). Corbin/Joe did nothing for me and Crews' debut was a bit boring, should've been a quick competitive squash with 90% him on offense. The big crowd was cool but I'm just getting tired of these chant-happy crowds. I know you gotta deal with it but for some reason it annoyed me tonight more than usual. Maybe I was hoping for something a little different since they're away from Full Sail. One thing I thought looking at the line up was something like Joe/Corbin needed to be replaced by that 8 man tag with Enzo and Cass. If that were the opener and they worked a fast-paced multi-man tag full of crowd pleasing spots from the big semi-home town faces, I think this show would've came across a lot better as a whole.

    NXT TakeOver Brooklyn

That should have went on last.
  21. NJPW booking is just unbearable. Do they really have to run one of the two most boring, stale and overdone match-ups they have as the final?
  22. Cage in a Trump shirt is the highlight of this show.
  23. I should watch it again but on first watch Anderson/Elgin was one of my favorite matches of the tournament, to my surprise. This was by far the best night of the tournament I thought. Goto/Ishii was very good but like a lot of big matches of this tournament could've been about 3-5 minutes shorter.
  24. I thought Muertes/Puma was great. Really worked as the number one big match of Lucha Underground: some brawling, chaos around the outside, some bomb trading, a couple big spots and a big finish. Legit felt like the biggest heel vs. the biggest babyface on the biggest show of the year too. Non-stop action and a pretty unique blend of brawling, workrate and clash of the titans style bomb trading.
  25. The best shit in years you mean. I loved everything on last night's show. Well maybe not Texano/Demon.
