  1. This was good, but also way too long. They could've easily trimmed the first 10 or so minutes of filler and it would've been way better. Suzuki is awesome and did a good job at exploiting Tanahashi's bummed knee. His knee dropkick spot was pretty awesome. Tana also did a pretty good job of getting that over too. The finish felt a bit abrupt and lacked any type of drama as it was out of nowhere.
  2. The loudest pop I've ever heard live:
  3. https://twitter.com/wXwGermany/status/979387888159940609 First Beyond drops David Starr, now wXw drops John Klinger. They uploaded Best of IWA-MS vol. 4 on Powerbomb.TV. If you have an account, go watch Ian Rotten vs. Tarek the Great. It's the best Ian Rotten match I've ever seen and one of the best IWA-MS matches ever.
  4. Signed up to NJPW World today and saw the 2 multi man tags from the post Dome Korakuen Hall show and they were exactly what you'd expect from these post Dome show Korakuen Hall multi man matches -- throwaway tags. I'm going to watch the Dome show and some of the other matches mentioned on here -- the Young Bucks vs. Roppongi 3K, Bullet Club vs. Golden Lovers, SANADA vs. ZSJ, Elgin vs. Ishii, Tanahashi vs. Taichi, Ibushi vs. YOSHI-HASHI, Naito vs. ZSJ, Tanahashi vs. ZSJ, etc. That should give me a solid idea if I should cancel this early or keep it for another month. I watched them both with English commentary and that was a huge mistake. I don't speak Japanese, but I much prefer the Japanese commentators to the English commentators.
  5. The fast paced start between Ospreay and and Hiromu had me hoping this would turn into a wild multi man tag from early 2000 Toryumon, but it didn't unfortunately. This is pretty average -- another throwaway post Dome show Korakuen Hall multi man tag. I don't get why everyone was laying around on the floor while 2 guys worked in the ring for a lot of this...
  6. This was a throwaway post Dome show Korakuen Hall multi man tag. Newly head shaven Suzuki provides quite the visual when he removes the towel from his head, but unfortunately we don't get enough of him in this match. Just realized Lance Archer is Lancy Hoyt, yikes... I remember him from his TNA days and he was not fun to watch. Watching him here, I can say things don't seem to have changed in that aspect. The FIP segment was average and the hot tag wasn't really a hot tag and just a tag as the crowd barely popped. The Elgin and ZSJ exchanges were pretty bad -- I've never been a fan of Elgin and have just recently began to dig ZSJ, but he looked pretty bad here. He hit a poorly executed punch/backfist? on Rowe early on and his European uppercuts during his exchange with Elgin were pretty poor. That finishing stretch was pretty forgettable too and those exchanges featuring Davey Boy Smith Jr., Archer and Hanson were not good... Forgettable.
  7. This match ruled. So many good things: Omori attacking Kobashi before the bell. Kobashi fighting back with a nasty half nelson suplex. Kobashi hitting Omori with a nasty discus chop which makes Omori's head bounce off the ring post which makes him get color. Kobashi's punches which are really underrated. Kobashi dropping a chop straight on Omori's bloody face. Takayama at ringside confronting Kobashi. Omori's comeback with the Axe Bomber. Kobashi knocking out Omori with a Burning Lariat. Really fun match.
  8. This, pretty much. I honestly feel that people just dislike Benoit for what happened (and rightfully so), but you shouldn't discredit his work because of that. If anything, his Royal Rumble and WM 20 win reflect everything that is being thrown against him when it comes to him not drawing heat or sympathy from the fans. As I said, I give the nod when it comes to charisma and selling to Danielson, but I give the nod to constant aggressiveness and intensity to Benoit.
  9. I'm a huge Bret fan, but to me Misawa was far better and AJ to me is far better than HBK. I think the closest one is the Benoit/Danielson comparison. I can see an argument for people voting for Danielson over Benoit, but I also know there's people who would vote anyone over Benoit in a lot of polls simply because of what happened and them feeling uneasy watching him. I'm honestly torn on that vote, however. Both guys are awesome to watch and they are both very athletic, but I'd give give the nod when it came to charisma and selling to Danielson and the nod when it came to constant aggressiveness and intensity to Benoit.
  10. Oh man did this rule. They continue to build to the big Kobashi vs. Akiyama match with Akiyama being a heel and attacking Kobashi on the ramp and laying him out with a stuffed piledriver making this a handicap match for a little bit. Rikio holds his own for a bit, but eventually Akiyama and Kanemaru take over. Once Kobashi recovers, he's back in the match and at one point Akiyama catches him in the deadly guillotine choke, but Rikio is there for the save. Kobashi gets feed up and just blasts and knocks out both Akiyama and Kanemaru with some brutal lariats to finish this. Really good sub 10 minute match.
  11. This is such a fun David vs. Goliath type match. Kikuchi excels as a fiery underdog as superkix mentioned and here it's not different. He knows he has to hit and run and that's what he does from the get go -- like a cat and mouse type scenario with Kikuchi trying to outsmart and out run Takayama, but he always gets caught and he gets brutalized when he does get caught. There's some really awesome stuff such as Takayama bending Kikuchi like a pretzel in an abdominal stretch type move where Kikuchi's head touches his knee, there's also Kikuchi countering a camel clutch by biting on Takayama's fingers and Kikuchi of course using the ropes and the refs. counts while executing armbars on Takayama. Takayama does a fantastic job of putting over Kikuchi's armwork -- namely the armbar through the ropes -- as he sells the hurt arm all the way through the end of the match.
  12. I thought this was a step up from the previous six man tag. The Takayama and Kikuchi exchanges here weren't as good, but the Kobashi and Shiga exchanges were excellent. Everyone else was on point and put a very good performance. Another fun match.
  13. This was pretty fun too. The Kikuchi and Takayama exchanges continue to deliver and Kikuchi takes another brutal beating that sees him get all bruised up and get his mouth busted up. He's such excellent sympathetic underdog and his comebacks always get a pop from the crowd. Another fun match.
  14. Yeah, I agree with saying this was pretty fun and I will also praise Kikuchi and Takayama's performances here. Kikuchi elbowing everyone and then running away from Takayama was awesome. Stuff like the botched ref. count and the botched big boot hurt this a bit, but it was still a fun match regardless.
  15. This was another solid/very good, not great match as they continue to build the feud between these two. They also continued to build the guillotine choke as a deadly submission.
  16. This was a toned down match for a smaller Differ Ariake venue and it was very good, not great and it served it's purpose -- get Akiyama over as a top player and establish the big Akiyama and Kobashi feud. Having Akiyama win both back-to-back falls was a great way to establish him as a top guy. The way they put the guillotine choke over by having him put Misawa to sleep quickly was great. The finish stretch was pretty neat and built up to neatly. Very good stuff.
  17. I didn't dig this as much as you all. I thought the ref. chair spot was poorly executed and predictable as the ref. was just standing there with the chair waiting for something to happen with it. Also, the Kung Fu bit on the stage, namely the bit with the Bo Staff and chair wasn't my type of thing. If you dig that, then you have to check out his No Holds Barred match with MVP at the last MLW event as they did the exact same sequence, but with MVP using a kendo stick instead of a chair. That second ref. that came out was pretty bad too, namely when he first counted for Red. The crowd brawling, the bump onto the ramp and off the ramp, Ki's double stomps and Red pulling Ki off the top rope by the tie were pretty cool stuff, but aside from that, I wasn't a fan of this.
  18. Are you implying his facial expressions suck?

I was bummed when they broke #DIY apart, but this is something that may eclipse them as a tag team. Awesome stuff.
  20. https://twitter.com/mlw/status/978291287710420992 It was a given it would be beIN Sports. Awesome. If you're a football fan, then you most likely have beIN already as it airs LaLiga, Serie A, and Ligue 1. If you don't have beIN Sports, then you can watch it for free live on go 90. The program will air on Friday nights at 8:00 PM EST starting on April 20 with replys at 11:00 PM. The program will be Friday Nightt Fury. Penta and Fénix are going to become roster members as they struck a deal with AAA and LU for them. New tag champs and a middleweight champ will be crowned later this year. The middleweight title was already mentioned at one of the past shows as Aries mentioned it after he beat ACH and he said he wanted to be in the tournament for it.
  21. I've never been that bugged by an angle personally, but I stopped following WWE in the early 2000's mostly because their product bored me and there was other things I preferred watching -- i.e.; indies, puroresu and lucha libre. I know on a weekly basis at least someone replies to a RAW, SDL or PPV thread at DVDVR with I'm done with this company only to watch the following week and follow up with the same type of reply. If any angle would've/could've potentially irked me, it was the McMahon vs. "God" stuff which was really tasteless to me due to my religious beliefs, but even then I couldn't care less.
  22. OK, so to properly grasp someones in ring ability we must compare them to Volk Han? And cool on the Usos and Crush Gals comparisons as El-P noted. I'm done with this thread.
  23. This would be the discussion if someone stopped comparing every single worker in every thread to Volk Han... IIRC even the Usos in one of the WWE threads were compared to Volk Han...
