The Pro Wrestling Illustrated MOTY for '81 was Andre vs Khan from Rochester, where Khan broke Andre's ankle with a botched kneedrop. Any reason it was MOTY other than being famous? Was it even taped?

The concept of a MOTY happening here is beyond me.

Probably just because it was one of the biggest angles of '81. I'm blanking on what other famous angles took place in 1981. Flair won the title, but it was in a town where he wasn't strong and the win was kind of an afterthought. Maybe a Race/Rhodes title change or Tommy Rich's moment in the sun?

So one of the latest WWE DVD projects is a Best Of King Of The Ring, hosted by Booker T. This leads to an obvious question: Does pre-PPV tournament (85-89, 91) footage exist? I looked at Graham's site and there doesn't seem to indicate any televised footage of it, or any Coliseum tapes or somesuch using it, so I'm thinking no, but would anyone else know if footage does exist?

I seem to recall them showing footage of Harley Race winning in 1986, but I guess it could have been from anywhere and they were just pretending it was from the tournament.

I never got Sting/Luger vs. Steiners winning in '91, over Hart/Perfect from that year's SummerSlam. It's a good match, but way too short. If it went 25-30 minutes, one could make the case for it, but I still don't quite get it.

IP Tracking

Please note that we have a feature enabled that will allow us to deny the ability to view the page to specific IP addresses. This feature is enabled due to so many websites copying and pasting our work, stealing it and passing it off as their own. If we can get the IP address of someone who we know steals our work, we can then block that person from being able to read the site. It started due to a person named Bixenspan. Unfortunately, there are some seriously deranged wrestling fans out there. Please note that IP addresses are not collected or stored by PWInsider.com.

Emphasis mine.

What the hell? They don't know my IP and haven't banned it, as I looked (on my iPad, no way am I letting a Windows PC near that site) to see if I could read a story there when made aware of this. Besides, I never C&P from them. The only exception was a few VERY short quotes when Highspots first filed the lawsuit against Flair, and those were all direct quotes from the legal filings, not any original content. I knew they were weird about "owning the news," but geez.

Also, I'm not sure how that would make me "deranged," but that's Scherer & Smarky for you.

For what it's worth...I couldn't find where this is even linked on their site, nor could my friend who IMed me about it. Where'd this pop up?

Of course you're "seriously deranged" in their eyes, you've called them out on their usage of spyware while writing for a competing website. When you've got no defence for such activity other than greed, you have to resort to smears and name calling.

Can someone please point out to them the hypocrisy of them singling out someone who spreads news from their site in their own words, while continuing to post WWE and TNA TV taping spoilers?

So I don't understand something here. TNA and AAA have a deal. From what I can tell, they mention TNA on AAA TV. However TNA doesn't mention AAA at all to the point of having a false plate made to cover the AAA world title when Jarrett has it on TNA TV to cover the AAA logo on the front. What was the point of making a deal if they can't name the promotion or show a TNA guy going to another promotion and winning their title? It's like they don't want to be seen as a real promotion instead of a small time indy fed that gets to have its shows at Universal Studios.

So DR LUCHA commented on this in the newest Bryan show. The belief as he understands it is that it's tied in to the settlement of the lawsuit Konnan had against TNA. The terms were they can't mention him or AAA or anything related, and that's also why they haven't brought any AAA guys in to the company. Meanwhile, AAA has mentioned TNA on their show and used TNA guys to their benefit. This may be the most TNA-est thing TNA has ever done.

To quote Denis Leary: "Where's the problem?"

AAA brings in names from TNA and lets them do their thing and potentially get over with a new crowd. Good for the TNA guys. AAA thumbs their nose at CMLL, since their deal with NJPW is basically to help the young boys get over or to keep Nakamura, Tanahashi, or Goto working, while giving them a break from the NJ fans so they can freshen up. Good for AAA.

What DOESN'T happen with the current arrangement. Joe Lider works Impact and gets squashed in 30 seconds by Abyss. The Psycho Circus work a TNA PPV, as filler for some goofy reverse battle royal for an X-Division Title shot that only serves to lead to AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels for the 327th time.
