So, this one is for 90s Japan women's wrestling fans: two journeywomen whose names you haven't probably heard for years have ended up in opposite sides of the spectrum of life, if you will.

Shark Tsuchiya is a christian missionary and Rumi Kazama is now a porn star/"girl bar" owner.

Still haven't figured out which one of the two caused a bigger WTF reaction with me.

I was recently in a lawyer's office and he had a bunch of wrestling memorabilia signed by a bunch of different guys (mostly guys who had been through OVW). One thing was something signed by Punk. I asked what he represented him for, and he said "DUI". I asked if he was sure about that, and he said he definitely was.

I'd just never heard it mentioned, but thought it may be one of those things I'd missed.

Like I said about the snowballing effect with my example, how much do you want to bet that starts to get some attention by some WWE slanted outlets in order to, not discredit what Punk said outright, but to cast some doubt on the complete truthfulness of Punk's claims.

I mean it wouldn't change a thing since there is way too much smoke in other instances besides Punk, but something stupid and dangerous like a DUI charge, even if it went away quietly based on whatever reasoning (BAC wasn't legal limit, cop was being a quota seeking ahole, or being an ahole based on Punk being a pro wrestler, etc), I can see being brought up as a way to discredit Punk's IRL character.

That should be easy enough to verify through public records if someone is able to do it. I'm ignorant on this stuff - is telling you that a violation of attorney-client privilege?

Yeah, since I couldn't find it on a simple Google search (you'd think it would be somewhere on some place, like wrestler mug shot sites or sonething), I'm betting it was dismissed due to the charge steming from an over eager and power tripping cop, and a belligerent and groggy Punk.

And the lawyer was gossiping about the details of a client's (Lawler) sex case, too? This is sketchy as hell.

November 9, 1998 Nitro for me. Jericho/Goldberg in the aisle, but President Hogan and nwo tag main event. Looks like we got a pretty sweet eighteen second Scott Norton/Lodi battle.

Wikipedia sez yes, even if you're no longer representing that client.

Kazama has been doing porn for a while now. Not much of a change though, she always sucked.

Shark's new career is pretty WTF indeed. Maybe she's trying to seek forgiveness for all those horrible pro-wrestling matches.

Does anyone know what Hana Mansion Pro Wrestling is? I found a video and am watching it but have no concept of what this promotion is exactly. It's from Japan and here is the card for the video I'm watching:

Hana mansion Pro Wrestling 3rd season pattern of the second Section 10.24 tournament!
1 – The Roller Coaster & Disc-O VS The lightning monster & Fujin
2 – master ghost vs Mr. Swan
3 – Hana mansion pro wrestling certified Tag Team Championship next challenger finals Mary’s & Wild Miguel vs peach tallow & surprised Boo
4 – Asakusa Kid vs Death bouncer
5 – Hana mansion pro wrestling certified indiscriminate Championship black coaster vs Thunder

It appears that some of the characters are anime or video game related. I'm not even sure if the wrestling is "good" but it's kind of fun to watch.

re: the nitro discussion, i think i beat sleeze & matt

the only nitro i went to live? the one that began the whole WHO DROVE THE HUMMER angle. i think that speaks for itself...

I was at the one following Super Brawl 2000 with the goddamn Harris brothers interfering in almost every match.

I'm just surprised that there's a market for Rumi Kazama porn. She's got to be near 50 now.

Then again, it's Japan. There was a market for Fujiwara porn and Ryuma Go gay porn, so I should not be surprised.

I really shouldn't be teaching people this sort of thing, but Kazama belongs to an entire genre of Japanese porn -- http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Jukujo

Rumi was kind of an idol in 80's, so it somewhat makes sense. She was on a bunch of national shows and sang. She also was better looking than Cuty Suzuki when she was very young. She did two adult videos and a third mostly just modeling video a few years ago and hasn't done anything since, so I wouldn't call her an AV star now. Most of the girls own a bar like Chiggy, Tateno, Kyoko, and others. But then again, most of the guy wrestlers do too. There has to be at least 25 bars owned by former male wrestlers there.

Rumi also isn't the only joshi girl to do AV. Toyota did some a BDSM scene that wasn't good and of course Emi Tojo did a few scenes, though she now works in soaplands. She also likely makes more money in it than she did in wrestling.

On the flip side of shitty Nitro experiences, my very first live event was WCW Boston Brawl featuring Hogan vs Sting in a cage, Hart vs Flair, Eddie vs Benoit and Savage and Larry Z in a six man. It was hyped as the first internet live show. It was super fun if memory serves me correctly.

Does Boston Brawl exist on tape?

Considering she worked in Jd' in its later days, yeah, that's more than likely. Too bad, she had some potential as a worker (in the Takako mode), but damn did she take another route...

The lawyer who told me that stuff is a bit on the crazy side. Gossiping about his clients is probably peanuts compared to some of the stuff he's probably done. Really though, he's always been a straight shooter in my dealings with him.

And this wasn't a recent conversation. I heard that a couple of years ago, so it has nothing to do with Punk and WWE's relationship now. It was just something that popped in my head, so I thought I'd see if anyone had heard that too. I'm not trying to stir up any shit, I just wondered if it was something that had made the rounds and was shot down or was common knowledge.

On a positive note, I had the opportunity to interview Slick today! He's a pastor here in Louisville now. We interviewed him and were able to shoot his sermon, too. He's very upbeat about his WWF days, and wrestling in general. He was very high on One Man Gang and Butch Reed, but wasn't a fan of working with Bossman. Bulldog Bob Brown also came up. :)

Also, I had no idea he was Rufus R. Jones' son.

I have some programs of the pre-split original JWP where Rumi is pushed as an idol. Never found her good looking but Japanese beauty standards can sometimes be a bit different.

There's a Japanese website somewhere listing dozens of wrestler bars. I went through the list with a friend (Japanese) and most of the bars were minor league wrestlers. In Killer Khan's restaurant there's an ad in the bathrooms listing something like 10 former minor league women wrestlers' bars. I only remember Cooga. The Japanese women wrestlers bar mostly seem to be overpriced and/or with an entry fee for former fans to hang out with them, not all that different to the hostess bar culture.

For whatever it's worth... the bar/restaurant business is where a lot of retired sumo wrestlers end up as well.
