Johnny Sorrow Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 That's the Andre statue they bring out for Axcess every year, not what the battle royal winner gets. But it should be. Like we joked about on the last podcast.
Exposer Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 I gotta say, even if I think this year's Mania is disappointing in some respects, the WrestleMania Today shows have been outstanding. Both of Booker T's sit-down interviews with Randy Orton and Batista were great. Batista's was hilarious. It's also been fairly unscripted with Booker showing up late on Thursday, Cole and JBL saying totally ridiculous shit, Booker comparing John Cena as the only white rapper at the BET awards to his ability to overcome the odds, and Alex Riley asking terrible questions to the battle royal combatants such as who do they think will win if they get eliminated. The video packages have also been incredible. The Hogan and Bryan packages were excellent. There have also been some great segments with Big E. and the Usos wandering around New Orleans.

Jmare007 Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 I wasn't sure WWE was gonna top the fan made video package of the HHH/Bryan feud but holy shit, that "turning to a monster" promo they showed on Wrestlemania Today was fucking outstanding. WWE video packages have always been amazing but they've been on a tear lately.
Zero Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 Yeah, I've been loving the WrestleMania Today's. Booker T saying Savage/Steamboat is the best match ever, then asking Ric doesn't he agree. Ric - "uh No."
anarchistxx Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 What is Wrestlemania Today and where can I watch it? Presumably the network?
Strummer Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 interesting tidbit from Meltz's daily update: --From people working on the show, while Vince McMahon is there, they've said that it's really been HHH and Stephanie McMahon who have been in charge as far as producing the event.
Strummer Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 also, Bryan/HHH is scripted as getting the most time on the show (as Dylan and many other have predicted) and that match and the title match are scheduled to be back to back
Strummer Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 what the hell. Here is the match order via Alvarez: Here is the current order:The Shield vs. Kane & New Age Outlaws"Stuff in the Middle"John Cena vs. Bray WyattBrock Lesnar vs. UndertakerDiva InvitationalHHH vs. Daniel BryanWorld Title Match Battle Royal spot??? Also, Bryan v HHH is going to have a stip added. No DQ or submission. Sting is scheduled to debut on RAW Monday after a video hyping his arrival at Mania all from Alvarez via Blog of Doom
Jmare007 Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 Figured Sting would debut the night after Mania. Perfect crowd for him to get a huge reaction and not get a "who's this" from 1/3 of the crowd and not look like a big deal. I really hope they don't start building to a Taker match. PS: here's a link the video package I was talking about before https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98Fh_4Q7aio
Strummer Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 I'm guessing Sting will be the new Authority figure to go up against Hunter and Stephanie. I can't see him being a full time wrestler so they need him to have a figurehead type role. Or maybe he'll be part time/contractual appearances like Lesnar
(BP) Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 Great video, although it was awkward the way they cut around having to show Cena job to Bryan.
shoe Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 I loved on the Wrestlemania today show when Alberts called the Diva Championship a belt, Josh, and Riley go immediately you mean championship. That was pretty funny.
Ricky Jackson Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 My first thought was Sting challenges Taker to a match at Mania 31.
Jmare007 Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BkfnPwPCUAA8OQb.jpg:large So Hogan, Bruno, Rock and Austin in the same building. My god.
Jmare007 Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 Man, I wish they would take a big ass picture with every talent there. I don't think we are ever gonna see so many legends in the same building again. If Terry Funk would've made the trip it would've been a wrap.
Bierschwale Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 also, Bryan/HHH is scripted as getting the most time on the show (as Dylan and many other have predicted) and that match and the title match are scheduled to be back to back Not that it's the most important thing in the world, but I wonder if this means that they'll do all four main eventers' entrances before Bryan-HHH. Batista and Orton can try to thug out Bryan (FACE SHIELD GUEST SPOT) or immediately ambush him to start the title match if he goes over. It'd be a pretty awkward segue from the end of the first match to have them do their full entrances before the main.
tigerpride Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 Spoiler for WrestleMania Anyone know what this is? It's paywalled at f4wonline
Boondocks Kernoodle Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 The spoiler is that Rock is there.
anarchistxx Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 You would think they would advertise The Rock in advance to pop the buyrate, unless they were unsure whether he would make it. Or maybe with the Network they aren't worried about traditional buys so much.
