And I wasn't necessarily going after Kevin Dunn but the agents could've done those guys better....I will say whoever laid out must love Adrian Neville because he was made to look like the top dog which I guess makes sense since he is the champ

Nothing to do with him being the Champ it is to with already said.

He is dropping the belt on Thursday and is moving to the main roster with a bunch of others the Raw after Night of Champions. Breeze is winning the belt and Zayn is staying in NXT for a little while longer - some say he is teaming with Devitt short term.

My point was HHH is smart enough to know he needs the best talent available to make the Performance Center and NXT look as good as possible (especially since he knows Kevin Dunn is going to immediately bury everyone to Vince). If someone comes to him and says "this guy is good, we should give him a deal" he usually does. I guess he should get credit for being more progressive than Vince at that aspect I guess. At least he was willing to entertain the possibility that someone can be a top star and not be a jacked-to-the-gills type of guy.

My biggest takeaway from the NXT match on Raw is that they should absolutely have 1 NXT match on the show every month, ideally a 4-5 minute spotfest or with some other unique hook to get people interested in NXT. You don't want this to become Tough Enough, but can easily have the right people out there for a few minutes as a showcase for Network programming. They could do many things such as build next week's Cena/Lesnar issue for Main Event instead of Raw, but the NXT thing doesn't require a radical change in approach.

Remember the kid that kept yelling "LET'S GO CENA!" during the Brock/Cena match? Turns out that was Bill Simmons daughter.

btw, Simmons has to be one of the dumbest wrestling fans out there. Every time he start talking about it it's cringe worthy.

edit: unrelated

Reading Chris' blog today:

(And if anyone was curious, section 10.2.b is the 'Rey Mysterio' clause: " ( In the event that WRESTLER is unable to wrestle for six (6) consecutive weeks during the Term of this Agreement, for any or no reason, including, without limitation, due to an injury suffered while performing services at PROMOTER’s direction, PROMOTER shall have the right to thereafter: (i) terminate this Agreement; (ii) suspend WRESTLER either with or without pay; and/or (iii) extend the Term of this Agreement for a period of time equal to the entire period of inability to wrestle, or any portion thereof." I believe that WWE is using this part of the contract to 'extend' Rey's time under obligation to WWE by the amount of injury time he's accumulated.)

I thought it was just paranoia. But no. Its actually written in the contracts. No wonder people rush back. Though I can't think of the last person who got hurt and WWE immediately canned the person.

I don't recall anyone else having their contracts extended, the usual MO was to just to let people's deals run out and not re sign them. I wonder if there's any kind of recourse for Rey since it's clear they are singling him out with this. Not to mention considering Alberto apparently has enough ammo for him to go to AAA and more or less keep doing his WWE gimmick, you'd think they wouldn't want another example of them picking on a Mexican guy.

I'm kind of frustrated that Baltimore seemingly only gets TV tapings or PPVs. I want to go to a house show but I don't want to trek out of my way for it. Also, it's nigh impossible for me to hit something on a Sunday or Monday night but a Friday or Saturday night would be doable.

Not sure why you're all begging for house shows. Longer matches, yes, but they're usually very paint-by-numbers. It's a fun enough experience, don't get me wrong, but the last thing you'll be is blown away.

I went to a house show two months ago that had at least two fucking awesome matches, Rollins vs Ambrose and Shaemus vs Del Rio in an anything goes match.

around this time last year we had RVD feuding with Del Rio over the Word Title, Big Show crying every week, Punk and Heyman still feuding in a program that started in June and with Axel headlining house shows, Miz getting a teased babyface push against the Authority that went nowhere and Dolph Ziggler still stuck in the same position on the card

I haven't been to a house show since probably 1998 or 1999, but I think the allure of a house show is because it's like a throwback to our youths. It seems like house shows tend to be filled with more kids and you get more of a traditional face/heel divide as a result. Yeah, you know there's not gonna be angle advancement or a big title change, but I can see the appeal in just checking out a rasslin' show with no strings attached.

Certainly better than the one I went to a few years ago, which featured Cena vs. Miz in a street fight, Punk vs. Alberto, and a VERY disappointing match between Dolph Ziggler and Evan Bourne that seemed a half-step off (think this was when Bourne was between Wellness suspensions). I remember Drew McIntyre impressing me with his hard work and enthusiasm despite losing. The thing is, I was barely following wrestling at that point (the Summer of Punk got me back, and then lost me again with a series of increasingly insane booking moves), and yet I was still able to predict every single thing that happened. The show was a cool experience, but everything felt rote and stale - which should not ever be the case for a lapsed fan, as I was at the time.

I can agree with this. Always fun to see the kids and families just having a good time. That was definitely the case at the show I went to.
