shaneduder Posted February 8, 2014 Report Posted February 8, 2014 The first caller on Austin's latest Unleashed show was the perfect combination of everything annoying about the internet wrestling community. Dude was super grating for sure. When he kept saying "We" like he was some official representative of people talk about wrestling online. Ugh. I was surprised at the amount of time Austin gave the callers. Guy is trying to be a professional radio guy. What (not meant in the chant way), did you expect Austin to go into Stone Cold mode on the callers? No, just figured he'd shit can people a little faster. Quote
goodhelmet Posted February 8, 2014 Report Posted February 8, 2014 You also have to realize that most of those guys calling were nervous as fuck talking to Austin. When you are nervous, you get tongue tied, start stammering or start rambling. I think Austin knew this and was just trying to calm people down while being polite. Quote
Zoo Enthusiast Posted February 9, 2014 Report Posted February 9, 2014 So Austin just recorded this week's Unleashed episode. He's gonna be talking about the Rumble, Daniel Bryan and CM Punk. He also answered questions and took live calls. Even Meltzer had an appearance to talk about the current product. Can't wait Has some great potential. Well, I apologize. I was wrong. Quote
El-P Posted February 9, 2014 Report Posted February 9, 2014 Did anyone listened to the episode with Jim Johnston ? Was it interesting ? Quote
Jmare007 Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Dirty Dutch taped an interview with Austin today Quote
El-P Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 I enjoyed it. Indeed. I got a kick out of Austin talking about the Hakushi theme. Quote
Johnny Sorrow Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 I loved Austin saying who all the top guys are and it was Cena, HHH, Orton, Daniel Bryan, and Punk if he comes back. Quote
Jmare007 Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 Very good interview with Cena. You can tell the guy know how shit works and that he's a company guy first and foremost, he's learning Mandarin for god's sakes. It was funny hearing Austin call John out on his STF and Cena giving Steve a year notice for Wrestlemania 31. Quote
Loss Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 Did Cena actually get real? Cena is a guy that tends to tow the company line and stay in character in every setting. He's not quite like Miz, where you suspect WWE takes him apart and puts him in the fridge when he's not in public, but it's close. Quote
Loss Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 Just listened to show. Great show! Cena is The Man. Anyone who doesn't understand why he's in the spot he's in should listen. Quote
Loss Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 I loved his point that they should keep the focus more on the in-ring than talking because it gives them more global appeal. Quote
peachchaos Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 This was quite the refreshing listen. A few years ago, I wouldn't touch a John Cena match. Now he's easily one of my favorite performers. Strange, but this interview shows how dedicated he really is to the business. Quote
Zoo Enthusiast Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 Love Cena. Really looking forward to hearing this one. Quote
flyonthewall2983 Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 The Dutch Mantell interview just went up on iTunes. Quote
rovert Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 The Dutch Mantell interview just went up on iTunes. The Dutch Mantel show was worth the wait. Pay no real heed to Austin's advisory about issues with sound quality. It is perfectly fine. Dutch says Zeb Coulter is based on your embarrassing racist uncle and Clint Eastwood's character in Gran Turino. Quote
pantherwagner Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Just listened to show. Great show! Cena is The Man. Anyone who doesn't understand why he's in the spot he's in should listen. It was a very enjoyable show. John's command of Vince-speak was astonishing. That's a huge reason why he is the man. Quote
peachchaos Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Did they not touch on the feud with Lawler in Memphis or did I just miss it? Quote
Zoo Enthusiast Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 What great stuff. It's shows like the two this week that really make Austin's show feel like he's doing a service to the hardcore fan. Quote
hammerva Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 So apparently next week or so Austin is talking to Regal. Hopefully that is a two part one Is the Austin one with "WWE Family" worth listening to? Quote
goodhelmet Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Yes. He talks about his time backstage and all of the guys he ran into while there including Vince McMahon. Quote
SteveJRogers Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 So apparently next week or so Austin is talking to Regal. Hopefully that is a two part one Is the Austin one with "WWE Family" worth listening to? Its just Austin discussing going around backstage and setting up interviews and whatnot. Fun if you like solo Stone Cold! Quote
Minds_Eys Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 If you would have told me a year ago that Jericho, Jim Ross, and Jim Cornette all would have podcasts I would have been ecstatic. However, Austin's show stands a cut above the rest. The other three are on a week to week basis for me based on their guest (and in the case of Cornette's, how much talk other than wrestling goes on). Quote
