Pretty much any licensed music is going to get dubbed over since they'd need to pay out a new round of royalties for it.

Did WWE even use Licensed songs apart from PPV themes?

The PYT's segment from the Black History month collection is one of the most awesome things ever.

I am trying to figure was that from Florida or World Class? I know that Pringle and Rude worked both but didn't know if PYT's worked there. I think it is Florida because they mentioned Gordon Solie and Solie never worked World Class I thought

I am also going nuts seeing all of the old filmed footage they show on the early TNT episodes. If at some point they had a Dory Funk Jr-Red Bastien Texas Death Match from Amarillo for a TNT episode 30 years ago and all the late 60s/early 70s Philadelphia Arena film they used for that and some of the early Coliseum Video tapes, I am going crazy wondering what other film is in the vault and probably just sitting untouched due to cost-benefit of converting all the old film.

I have been wondering the same, too. A few TNT's have showed film footage with Gorilla Monsoon (I think vs Professor Tanaka) and Crusher Verdu... they must have quite a collection.

There's no chance of this happening anytime soon but it would be great if they brought back the Film Room show from WWE Classics as a way to showcase random films from their archives.

WWE's Victoria was a licensed song,Taker's biker stuff was already mentioned, and Cody Rhodes was at one time using TV/TV. Boy Hits Car's "Love Fury Passion Energy" and Waterproof Blonde's 'Come On' and 'Close Your Eyes' round up the list. Our Lady Peace also recorded 'Whatever' for the band's Gravity session and it was unreleased. WWE later used the song for Beniot.

Does anyone have a clue why they did a 5 minute "Breaking News" story from Paul Heyman about Brian Williams of NBC News telling a lie on the nightly news? I mean the fact the Heyman, a admitted liar, supported him makes me think they are making fun of him. But for what purpose except that they couldn't figure out how to start a WM Rewind on time? Is there some backstage story between Vince and him

I would imagine it would be just Vince humor, having an admitted liar do a Breaking News bit on someone admitting to telling a lie. Being a star and all that.

I can't imagine there's any reason for it other than trying to capitalize on a hot news story to grab a little attention. Its also a great use of the network. Highlighting things like this (and not replaying every one of them on tv) will hopefully make it seem like a must for fans.

I just rewinded the live steam to watch it and all I was thinking was "Are they trying to piss off NBC Universal?" I know this is a big story and what Heyman said was true but WWE's American programming belongs to NBC Universal and I don't think this will go well if the heads will catch wind of this.

Word is NBC is pretty pissed at him but there's nothing they can do since he just signed a big money deal and there's no one being groomed as the successor. If that's the case they probably won't get mad at WWE for making fun of him.

Black History Month: Ernie Ladd calling Bobo Brazil an "Uncle Tom" in an interview... :)

At least they didn't put there the Piper's Pit with Tony Atlas, the HHH interview with Booker T telling him to dance because that's what your people do, or that one interview with Ron Simmons and Harley Race.

I loved that Ernie Ladd promo. It was so layered. How he slow built it to maximize the impact. Great stuff even with an Uncle Tom reference.

I agree, it was great. I liked Ladd's HOF special. It's baffling that they haven't been uploading a lot of these. It requires little to no effort as it's just leveraging content that they already produced and very few people has seen. I also enjoyed the one with Bobo Brazil. The match with Brody made me want to stab my eyes though.

Yeah... it's been a year and it is like it is. If you want to watch AWA or Mid South or old Nitros buy DVD's or look at youtube/dailymotion. It may take years for any of that stuff to be available in an episodic format.

So, I was watching that Mid Atlantic episode with Rufus/Pez vs Koloff/Kernodle and there's this tremendous skit where Flair goes to Blackjack's ranch to ask for help to get rid of Wahoo and Blanchard. Mulligan and Dusty and their buddies ("my family") are around a bonfire drinking beer and holding rifles so Flair rips off the top part of his expensive three piece suit to show that he's one of them. Also Mulligan says that he likes heavy set women and offers Flair a beer (which he proceeds to uncap by using his teeth). This was ten stars even if they keep referring to Wahoo "McDaniels", which is a pet peeve of mine.

LOL

I thought I was the only one that hated "McDaniels". I find it appears in print on old ads a lot, plus on a lot of TV captions.

I assume it never made one bit of difference to Wahoo one way or the other as long as he could cash the cheque. :)

I wish they would've shown the 2nd part of that skit but I think it aired the following week on TV where Mulligan accepts Flair's offer. We have it though and will be on the JCP set

For some reason, I watched that Crazy Love special. It was on the live feed, and I needed something to fall asleep to. Nothing groundbreaking here - just a look at past romance angles, and various WWE and NXT personalities saying which wrestlers they'd date if they could. Renee Young gave every fan hope by picking Mick Foley.

Anyway, the reason this is post-worthy is because Chyna was all over this special.
