WingedEagle Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Cena has been spectacular here. A shame it hasn't translated into a great match, but his character work has been so different and tremendous. This is a match that could benefit from some blood.
Matt D Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 I kind of like this. It started with Wyatt pushing Cena into a dangerous territory, and then choking down on him, but then it becomes this metatextual traditional WWE superhero match, chinlock and all, with Cena coming back heroically in the traditional old WWF style.
Loss Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 I think the issue is more that WM crowds have their minds made up about Cena and nothing can be done to overcome the reaction he's destined to get. Period. Nothing.
ohtani's jacket Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 The psychology in this match is too cute for the audience.
Blehschmidt Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 The crowd singing "Whole World in His Hands" was pretty cool.
Death From Above Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Most bizarre crowd singing possible.
anarchistxx Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 I think the issue is more that WM crowds have their minds made up about Cena and nothing can be done to overcome the reaction he's destined to get. Period. Nothing. It isn't that they are/were shitting on Cena though, it was just a weird crowd reaction, they seemed restless and unsure. Had a weird premonition that Cena goes heel tonight and costs Bryan the belt.

Strummer Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 I've seen that Hunter's little daughters were in the crowd cheering him on. Lol I love stuff like that
anarchistxx Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Ending was a bit low key, otherwise that turned into a very good match. Loved the stuff with the chair.
Timbo Slice Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 I wanted the Steamboat 89 Bash finish myself.
goodhelmet Posted April 7, 2014 Author Report Posted April 7, 2014 John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt - I liked this in parts but not as a whole. It reminded me of the overly long Mankind-Taker match from Summerslam 96? Not in match quality but in atmosphere. The crowd singin was cute but I am shocked that this wasnt better.
ohtani's jacket Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Cena/Wyatt was okay, but they would have been better off working a straight match than all that psycho babble.
tim Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Wyatt/Cena was pretty disappointing. The crowd just wasn't buying the narrative of the match because they aren't going to get behind Cena. And at this point I can't blame him. Cena is still a merch king and a big draw, but even I as a huge fan of his as a worker absolutely cannot care less about this "Cena cemented his legacy again!" story. Very disappointing finish.
ohtani's jacket Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 I thought Warrior was going to run to the ring.
Timbo Slice Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 I actually have no idea why Cena should even had gone over.
Timbo Slice Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 I thought Warrior was going to run to the ring. Me too. Was kinda hoping for it.
Kevin Ridge Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 I was hoping Cena would use the chair on Wyatt and get himself disqualified. As others have said wasn't the right match for a Dome show.
Art Machine Love Barr Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 On paper Cena/Wyatt was the match I was looking forward to most, but yeah, really don't need the bland darkside character work.
Steenalized Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 I'm in the crowd who loved Wyatt/Cena. I want to see Brock ragdoll Taker like he did Punk, inevitable injuries aside, but since that won't happen I really don't have much interest here. Hopefully this surprises me.
goodhelmet Posted April 7, 2014 Author Report Posted April 7, 2014 CM Punk should pop out of his casket. Shit I called it over here. Hahahaha. I am looking forward to this match now.
Timbo Slice Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Taker's voodoo outfit is fucking awesome.
