Reactions to the Honorable Mention List, Part 2

Rogers is tough as he was another one in my top 120.

Adams is someone that probably falls to my "Texas is my least favorite territory of the 80's I have seen" bias. Still no doubt a top 150 contender for me.

I had Rogers at 123. He feels like one of those guys that might have just missed a lot of ballots.

It does show me how little difference there really was between my top 50 and my #130. Dustin Rhodes was my #59 but I'm not sure if he was a better tag worker than Rogers.

Nigel has a decent case to make a ballot based on peak. Chad is right about his 2007. He's just faded from the collective consciousness compared to his peers, I suppose largely because most of them have continued working at a high level. I didn't rank Aries but would also have put him above Nigel.

Rogers is one of those guys who was hurt for me by the tag ballot going on at the same time. I didn't treat him as seriously as I should because I knew I'd have The Fantastics high as a team. So he went from 36 on my SC list to not on this one at all.

Invader I is the first person to come up where I felt that he was way too low, but really it's Invader I. It's pretty amazing he finished as high as he did.

Doing tag and singles at same time is biggest regret from this project.

Surprised to see Rogers do worse than in 2006. The Joshi wrestlers and a less well known NJ junior dropping big isn't surprising given the shift of focus in hardcore fandom, but you would think that same shift would have helped a US 80s wrestler compared to 10 years ago.

Legit think you can take credit for pushing Invader I along with boricua and the shows with Kris. He was someone I did a dive on based on recs, and while I thought he was really good more so than great, watching someone new is always rewarding.

My sense is that even without the Brody stuff, not many people have seen enough Puerto Rico for him to do much better than he did. As you know, I only sneaked him on at the end, and I love the guy. I'm intrigued to find out where you had him.

Yeah it really was a mistake looking back.

I think with him voting and all that we can kind of confirm ShittyLittleBoots isn't a bot so you could, you know, activate his account. I mean it's people's fault they don't read the how to make a PWO account thread or contact Loss via twitter or e-mail or something but still.

Glad I wasn't the high voter on Anjoh. He made my top half but I couldn't justify going any higher than where I put him. I'm really interested where the more famous shoot guys rank. By the way they were talked about in their threads you'd think Anjoh would rank above Takada.

Shit, Nishimura is the first one that stings a bit. The chunk of time I spent exploring him was one of my favorite mini-quests of this project. I'm not sure I can make a great body-of-work argument for him to go much higher. He's more of a uniqueness candidate. But I'll always carry the torch for that dude.

Ah fuck, my fourth soldier, Rogers was my #93.

I don't know why but I see it as a personal shortcoming every time one of my guys drops.

Tommy Rogers was, in my view, the 4th best pure tag worker in US history behind Arn, Eaton and Morton.

I can't believe he came off already. I have Rogers just a notch below Morton as a the best babyface tag worker. This is the biggest shock to me so far.
