"White person attempts to educate black person on race" is never going to go well no matter what because of the dynamics in play. Calling it a double standard is some "why can't white folks use the n-word" shit. When there's a disparity in power/privileged/etc, someone of the race that has the privilege should know when to STFU and that was one of those times. I understand what you're saying, but the issue is that is someone who's black contributes to spread a racist cliché, I don't care who points out to him it's a racist cliché. Sorry, but it's not a matter of "privilege", whatever that even means in the context. Invalidating the person who is pointing out it's a racist cliché because he's not of "the right race" (whatever that means, since race don't exist, really) is stupid. It can come off awkward, for sure, but sorry, BBC is a racist porn trope. Whether I say it or whether Black Thoughts says it doesn't change that fact. I used his name because he (I'm pretty sure that was him) addressed the other issue you used as an exemple and how it was a problem in hip-hop (the constant use by black hip-hop artists I mean). 33 minutes ago, sek69 said: Plus there's no evidence Keith Lee is an idiot, if anything it's quite the contrary. I would wager it was probably done since it's the obvious joke considering he's a large black man and it's his way of beating people to the punch and making it first. To be fair we are talking about professional wrestlers so one cannot completely dismiss the possibility that someone is an idiot, it just doesn't seem to be the case here. That's where I was getting at. Awesome Kong making the racist name her own and actually erasing its racist overtones by being a great pro-wrestler I totally get and understand. Keith Lee naming his finisher the Big Black Cock (making it obvious for the people not getting Lil Spike Dudley ) since he's a big black dude... hum... ok, I don't get how that is changing the perspective on the acronym... ohtani's jacket
I wonder how long Aja's career would have lasted if she'd gotten her wish and been a babyface.
Blehschmidt
I am almost certain that Big Bang Catastrophe is a WWE name. Pretty sure Keith called that move the Super Nova when he was working the indies.

ohtani's jacket
She wouldn’t have had the same gimmick or style though. She would have been slimmer. They might have given her a Omori/Hotta/Yamada style gimmick eventually. I can’t jmagine her being pushed as an idol type. There’s a real chance she might have had a short career. NotJayTabb
Apparently the Big Bang Catastrophe is a Dragon Ball Z reference, as is the Spirit Bomb, so it's probably just that Keith Lee is a big nerd, rather than making a knob gag. Bruce Mitchell telling Lee to pay more attention to black history is the real embarrassing part of this story

The nerd thing that is, considering he used to have a Pokémon on his trunks.

NintendoLogic
There's no Big Bang Catastrophe in DBZ that I know of. There is a Big Bang Attack, though. I suspect the name of Keith Lee's finisher is part anime reference and part...you know.
KawadaSmile
There's the Big Bang Attack, which Vegeta uses, and then there's the Gigantic Catastrophe, used by Broly. Probably a portmanteau of the two names.
MoS
Bruce Mitchell referring to rovert as 'Irish' and then, after being called out on it, defending himself with "I have Irish friends!!" was embarrassing. I get the point about focusing on the message and not the messenger, but this is the same guy who can never admit his hero Flair did anything wrong ever. NintendoLogic
In 1992, the WWF had a jobber named Bruce Mitchell because they didn't like what he was writing about them in the Torch. After one of his matches, Gorilla Monsoon said that Bruce Mitchell had no place in the wrestling business.

I'm not really a fan of it, or anime as a whole, anymore but it's cool to see references and such. Shanna's outfit was a neat example. I also love seeing references to 1990's puroresu in modern wrestling, although I need more Hashimoto tributes.

Well, I just saw that it was broadcasted in the US for the first time in 1996. By this time in France, it was done, the show began to air in 1990, so I guess that's why. Yeah, Shanna's outfit was cool. Miss the girl on AEW TV...

They've got some fun looking ones for Kawada and wrestlers you can't find elsewhere, though obviously far from official. Curious as to the quality and sizing. Are these going to ruin the rest of my laundry or is it a decent shirt? Never bought off here or PWTees for that matter so don't know what to expect from such outlets. All of these sites are using fine generic blank shirts. The hard thing with Redbubble is they don't list exactly what they're using, but the shirt itself should be fine and if you tend to be the same size across multiple brands, I wouldn't be too worried. (Granted, pallbearer isn't exactly a common word and I never saw it being spoken or written before the explanation) Could be worse, there is a line in The Godfather where Vito Corleone refers to Bonasera (who comes to him in the opening scene) as a “corpse valet” Which is another term for Undertaker.
