Most of 1989 NWA is fairly good. Apart from the main events, the first couple of months under George Scott are pretty weak, but then it's mostly gold until Ole gets the book in 1990.

The peak is the TBS show from April until about the Great American Bash if you're looking for exciting weekly TV. The syndication was honestly pretty weak in this time period. Watch Power Hour and Saturday Night, and you end up seeing about 90% of what you need to see.

Honestly, Cena will probably play the same type of character forever just like the Rock, but right now he's fun to watch (he was pretty much born to play a superhero) and, yeah, Peacemaker has been a blast so far

Agreed on Cena. His acting is excellent. Wrestling was so lucky to have him as long as we did, and I never felt like fans truly appreciated the guy. I'm glad he's doing well. He deserves it.

Meanwhile, Batista has apparently become a legitimately good character actor.

Batista keeps talking about wanting to direct too, and how he's trying to absorb knowledge from everyone he works with. Which given he's worked with the likes of Denis Villeneuve, Sam Mendes and (upcoming) Rian Johnson gives him a pretty good group to learn from

The book Les Miserables describes the protagonist Jean Valjean as someone of prodigious strength. That's a character detail that kind of gets lost in adaptation but it makes that a character Batista would be perfect to play someday.

Mojo Rawley announced on Instagram that 19 months ago he had a severe case of COVID, but now he is back to pro-wrestling. I love it.

He's a dude that can talk and has some sort of presence. I wish nothing but the best to the guy.

I am not sure about all the details, but apparently Davey Richards is doing porn, which if true, is undoubtedly by some distance the coolest thing Davey Richards has ever done. As long as we don't get a 5-superplexes-in-a-row spot ever again, I am in full support.

I've never seen the 5 superplexes in a row spot (I've seen the trading superplex spot which was a Masa Chono staple though), and it seems hell of a lot cooler than doing porn, which is mostly a horrible business filed with horrible people exploiting other people. (I'm not against it of course, but I don't think there's anything particulary cool about it especially in today's landscape where the workers, again mostly the women, are treated like pieces of meat and exploited more than ever before. End of off-topic)

Also, apparently it's a leak of a private video, so it actually sucks for him.

I mean, name me an industry where workers are not terribly exploited. Indie wrestling itself being a good example.

True, sadly. But porn still is the sleaziest of the sleazy. A few years back there was this question asked about whether the pro-wrestling industry was better of worse than the porn industry. Back then the answer did not seem very clear. Now things have really gotten better with pro-wrestling though. The irony is when guys like Randy Orton talk about "back in my days" shit.

Are hedge fund managers exploited?

If I can put on my lefty hat for a moment, I would say capitalism in general is designed to exploit from the top down, so the limits of said exploitation depend on what is in place (laws, unions, etc) to prevent it. The less protections an industry has, the more people get exploited.

The professional managerial class is significantly above the worker class in the capitalist hierarchy, so while they might have some grievances, the two are not in the same universe in terms of shared experiences.
