Migs
Apparently the potential buyer is Billy Corgan. http://wrestlechat.net/exclusive-smashing-...-tna-wrestling/
Bix
"Dixie, we both know that TNA isn't worth $10 million." I'm incredibly skeptical but it does make a weird kind of sense.
Loss
A good idea only if a valet named Melon Collie manages a guy named The Infinite Sadness.
s1rweeze
A good idea only if a valet named Melon Collie manages a guy named The Infinite Sadness. Holy crap, this must happen. As well as a tag team named Siamese Dream managed by a valet named Adore.
goodhelmet
I would hate the company the minute an announcer was forced to say that "Today is the greatest PPV I've ever known"
flyonthewall2983
This would be great if Billy has someone he can trust to run the day-to-day stuff while he continues on with the Pumpkins.
rovert
Very down on Billy Corgan and his Wrestling IQ. Court Baurer called him knowledge enough to be dangerous and I believe that's succinct enough way to describe him. To me hasn't graduated beyond a casual fan's understanding of the business. I don't think Billy could tell you the how and why angles worked. I will give him he has handled his music catalogue really well but I don't see the same savyness when it comes to Wrestling. He wants to relive his first relive his first real exposure to Wrestling (ECW) and realises legitimate Women's Wrestling matches have potential growth drawing power wise. That's his two MOs/ideas basically. I know people who don't even like the term call Billy a money mark. Also in the music industry his ego, control issues and people skills are legendary. I would imagine he would be a pain in the ass to be a partner with. I await hearing Billy Corgan deleting all the guitar tracks on Serge's TNA entrance themes and that re-recorded them himself. Lou is in Billy's inner circle so that's some non-journalist confirmation of interest: He was ECW's Sign Guy Dudley and Lou E Dangerously. artDDP
This is great for Mike Tenay since he's a big fan of Smashing Pumpkins.
sek69
I hope this is true just so TNA can improve their horrible theme music.
goc
I'm going to buy TNA and my booking strategy is to offer a weekly reward of $500 for the best fan submitted fantasy booking of that week's episode of iMPACT.
Jimmy Redman
That surely isn't fair with DVDVR Ben around.
Sidebottom
I hope this is true just so TNA can improve their horrible theme music. If Nash comes back, he can have a theme that wasn't created on a Casio keyboard.
MikeCampbell
I casually mentioned to my wife last night that Billy Corgan wanted to buy TNA. Her reaction was "The Smashing Pumpkins guy? How can he afford it?" I replied "Maybe he was smart with his money." She slayed me with "If he's buying TNA, he's not that smart with his money!" Death From Above
I looked it up on the interwebz and I was informed Corgan is worth roughly $50 million, for whatever that is worth (probably nothing). I think it almost goes without saying this would be financed in some way that would minimize his personal risk, if it happens.
Sidebottom
TNA are teasing a former champion to return next TV. Odds on it being Goldberg: 1/1000000 Odds on it being somebody closer to the scale of Raven: 1/
Mando
TNA are teasing a former champion to return next TV. Maybe former HWA World champion Shark Boy (while I am being facetious the tapings are in Cincinnati where Shark Boy started and spent most of his career). I'd love to see him give Dixie a "Chummer". Jimmy Redman
To be fair to them, they are playing it as a joke. It was basically a parody of the TNA "WE HAVE A BIG SURPRISE SUPERSTAR FORMER WORLD CHAMPION COMING!!!" bullshit announcement. I have inordinate interest in TNA becoming an ironic promotion that exists solely to mock it's own boneheaded mistakes. Just use the giant list of fuck ups on the WO Board as a reference, and go nuts.
Mando
I was at the tapings last night. The second show they recorded for next week was a bit of a rough sit. I won't spoil any finishes or anything. I will say the opener of Anderson working in street clothes vs. Knox felt like it went 40 and killed the crowd. They never recovered. The Angle vs. Aries - Submission Match though was likely the best match of the entire 4+ hr evening.
