    WWE TLC 2016

Wait, I thought the table not breaking at Hell in a Cell was an intentionally brilliant spot in a match some proclaimed one of the greatest in the history of the known universe (I love Sasha and Charlotte but I will go to my grave thinking that match was one of the most overrated of all time)
  2. It's gone now but suffice to say if you listened to it, none of what transpired here with him would've come as any surprise
  3. Yeah, just a bit
  4. Muhammad Ali bio was great. Bios on Lord James Blears and Ed Francis (last issue) provide a great history of wrestling in Hawaii. Blackjack Mulligan and Mr. Fuji bios were also good reads
  5. Makes you miss the glory days of jdw vs JVK
  6. Footage from the Zembo Mosque?
  7. I don't mean heat wise, but perception wise going into the show
  8. Sabu vs Taz was kinda the "real" main event, similar to a Hogan vs Rock situation. They had been building that match for well over a year
  9. They're still in Toronto. That chant, or Bret Hart honestly, doesn't mean shit outside of Canada in 2016
  10. http://placetobenation.com/titans-of-wrestling-73-the-stampede-territory-part-7-109-1016-1987-tv/ Kelly and Travis are joined by their old friend Rick Lee, a DJ at Jack FM in Vancouver (who graciously allowed the show to be recorded from his studio at the station), to reminisce about their days as young wrestling fans in Calgary. At the same time, the boys examine two TV shows from October 1987, during one of the last hot periods for the territory Discussion includes -A look at the legendary heel stable The Karachi Vice -Heaps of praise for Brian Pillman and Owen Hart...and Hiro Hase! -Jim Davies as an extremely poor substitute for Ed Whalen -Makhan Singh's hatred for the state of Montana -And much, much more!
  11. So very sad and horrible. RIP
  12. At least you're getting this now. Vancouver has been shut out since 1998, Calgary since 97
  13. There was no ban
  14. That's a good idea, and we actually discussed this on the show last night. Marty and I will put a top 20 or so together soon
  15. Playlists: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLV6RCTo_Cd0CccJ3lcD2xHoMtlE_fhJRg Tag with Brother Love as ref is on Boston show. A lot of really good stuff here
  16. http://placetobenation.com/tag-teams-back-again-episode-22-love-and-rockers/ Sick of all the talk about politics and doom and gloom in 2016? Join the West-East Connection--Kelly and Marty--in 1988 for more great WWF tag team action and feel the Loooooove! Matches discussed: Rockers vs Conquistadors 9/29 MSG Hart Foundation vs Fabulous Rougeaus, Brother Love referee, 10/10 Boston Hart Foundation vs Fabulous Rougeaus 10/24 MSG Demolition vs Rockers 10/24 MSG Demolition vs Hart Foundation 10/29 SNME Brainbusters vs Young Stallions 11/12 Philly
  17. Honestly I think the ship has sailed on them uploading more Stampede footage any time soon, but I hope I'm wrong
  18. http://placetobenation.com/titans-of-wrestling-72-the-stampede-territory-part-6-622-727-1979-tv/ Kelly and Travis bid a bittersweet farewell to the 1970s as they examine the final two episodes pulled from the WWE Network. Highlights include: -The wonderful mess that is Duke Savage -Stu Hart lacing up the boots to kick some ass one more time -Yet more awesomeness from Big Daddy Ritter, Dynamite Kid and John Foley -Awkward head shavings, a ladder match, more thoughts on Ed Whalen, and much, much more! Once again here is the link to the Stampede footage. Would love to hear peoples thoughts about it: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLV6RCTo_Cd0DBHLku6tpAj-ypzT3GFUj3
  19. The truth is that Backlund had been on top for almost five years and the fans were clearly tired of him by at least as early as the summer of 82, and there was no need for conspiracies to replace him. Snuka's arrival as the hot new star played a part in Bob losing favor with the fans. In a way it's comparable to Austin and Hart in 96/97, except Bob declined the heel turn
  20. I've floated the idea of doing 77-78, Superstar as champ and Bob's first year on top. 75-76 is pretty much off the table
  21. I've always maintained that the end is the towel being tossed in for Bob, which has a nice symbolism to it
