PeteF3 Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 Supposedly there's a new WWE logo on the way. They may be waiting for that to be unveiled. I don't mind having two belts around but I hope they're not deliberately leaving the possibility open of de-unifying them.
Kevin Ridge Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Anyone having trouble going on WWE website? Getting an error message. Network working fine for me through PS3 though.
Jesse Ewiak Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Why use one belt when you can sell two at the merchandise stand?
tim Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 I like the two belt look and hope they keep it.
Stiva Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 I like the two belt look and hope they keep it. I think it makes a good visual for Bryan as he's chanting "Yes" too.
BillThompson Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 I like the two belt look and hope they keep it. Me too, but I wish they'd take it further and bring back the AWA and ECW belts and start a sort of J-Crown thing, I love that stuff.
Bierschwale Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Yeah, I'm in the pro-two belts camp. It just seems more significant, and the unification was supposed to be THE MOST SIGNIFICANT EVENT IN THE HISTORY OF SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT.
Sidebottom Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Why use one belt when you can sell two at the merchandise stand? Because some parent can't afford two belts? And decide what's the point in just getting one so scrap the whole idea and buy a lame Kofi Kingston face T Shirt instead? Seriously though, the two belts thing wont be sticking around forever and we all know it. They might as well use one belt now as to not make the current seem "old" soon enough. There should be one symbol of excellence everybody fights over... not two.
cm funk Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 I like the two belts. It's like the Triple Crown which I always thought was the coolest because it was THREE BELTS or a boxer with a bunch of unified world titles The J-Crown was a little ridiculous
MikeCampbell Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Last time they unified the titles, Jericho carried around two for his entire reign (12/9/01-3/17/02) and then HHH used both until 4/1/02 when new "Undisputed Title" belt was created.
Fantastic Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 The WWE network logo is going to be the new WWE logo. I believe Stephanie confirmed this in an interview last week.
goc Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 I'm not crazy about the new logo but it was definitely time to switch up from the "scratch" logo.
Fantastic Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 This should be the new belt, with the new WWE logo in the middle, and a name plate below it.
MikeCampbell Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 I'm somewhat holding out hope that, if they do decide to go to one belt, that Bryan carries around the World Title belt, or decides to go old school and resurrect the winged eagle belt. I'm also holding out hope that Cesaro winds up winning the IC strap from Langston and uses the same IC belt, but with the black strap.
Fantastic Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Gross. Anything is an improvement on the last two. If I was making the rules though, I'd just commission a updated, slightly modified Big Gold belt and have it represent the WWE Championship. Of course, Vince will never go for that NWA relic!!
tofu_chipmunk Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 This should be the new belt, with the new WWE logo in the middle, and a name plate below it. That looks like the class ring from Harley Davidson High School.
Ryan Faulconer Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 I like the two belts. It's like the Triple Crown which I always thought was the coolest because it was THREE BELTS or a boxer with a bunch of unified world titles The J-Crown was a little ridiculous I hope you mean ridiculously AWESOME! It gave Ultimo Dragon an heir of legitimacy in WCW that made him stand out with fans. Most of the other guys in masks or japanese wrestlers or luchadores seem to melt together in the memories of lapsed fans. I search online for lucha info all the time and I run into people who classify all cruiserweights as luchadores or vice versa. Ultimo seemed to stand out because of the J Crown.
Ricky Jackson Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Fuck it, they should bring back this bad boy:
MikeCampbell Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 OMG, if Bryan walked out wearing that belt on RAW, I'd freak out.
flyonthewall2983 Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 I liked the ones Hogan had during his mid-80's run after that belt.
(BP) Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 I don't know if Vis was a giant mark for himself, or if he made more money on the indies with it, which would be genius.
Bierschwale Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 The main goal of WWE doing a feud between The Shield and Evolution is to push Roman Reigns as a top player and to get him into a singles match against Triple H. The match with Triple H is rumored for SummerSlam but word is that it could end up taking place at Hell In a Cell or Survivor Series if they decide to stretch it out longer. To me, this is like them watching the E&C-Hardys match from No Mercy '99 and their takeaway being "WOW WE NEED TO PUT THE BELT ON EDGE BY NEXT SUMMER, HE'D BE A GREAT FACE AGAINST HUNTER".
