The Chief Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 This is kind of veering away from pro wrestling only, can we talk about wrestling?
JRH Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 I wonder why they never uploaded Thursday Raw Thursday. It really should be there with the rest of the 1997 RAWs, since it has the Shawn Michaels "lost my smile" speech, which, no matter what you think of it, was a historical moment. There's also a pretty good Bret Hart/Vader match as well, and the only Steve Austin/Sid match that i know of.
MoS Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 As someone who actually lives in southern US, I see the confederate flag relatively often and have always just seen it as a way of showing southern pride with nothing to do with racism. I've never seen anyone complain about it or act offended and I think that's because people who grew up in the region understand that there is far more to the history than just slavery and racism. The "confederate flag=racism and nothing more" talking point strikes me as something recently created by SJW's who don't know much about the region's history beyond the sterile and simplified version taught in middle school. The black people in the South fly and feel the flag is just pride too? I am not American, and I have only spent 4 months in America in my life - in Birmingham, Alabama - so I am not close to being qualified about this, but I made a bunch of black friends there, and a lot of them feel very uncomfortable with the Confederate flag being flown. One person I know is moving to Portland, and publicly stated that he is glad, because every time he drives from Mobile -or probably Dothan, I don't remember - to Birmingham, he feels really disturbed by that giant Confederate flag flying on the way.
sek69 Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 So in another attempt to steer this back to wrestling, they've been adding some 2003 Raws to the Network while everyone's been distracted by Mania Week.
MoS Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 If I were hoping for a smooth transition to the Paul Levesque era, I would try to pretend that 2003 never happened.
WingedEagle Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 So in another attempt to steer this back to wrestling, they've been adding some 2003 Raws to the Network while everyone's been distracted by Mania Week. Definitely great that they keep adding to the library. Always something fun to be found in the archives.
flyonthewall2983 Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 How close are they to having every single Raw?
Robert S Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 How close are they to having every single Raw? According to this reddit page they are (up to December 2015) at 731 of 1179 episodes (or about 62%) online: https://www.reddit.com/r/wwe_network/comments/4cixm7/wwe_network_content_upload_progress/
The Chief Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 I'm fine with not putting up 2003 Raws. Just jump to 2005, I won't complain
JRH Posted April 3, 2016 Report Posted April 3, 2016 I'm fine with not putting up 2003 Raws. Just jump to 2005, I won't complain I wouldnt mind them uploading more 2004 Raws, if just for the spring/summer episodes which had a lot of fun stuff.
Jimmy Redman Posted April 3, 2016 Report Posted April 3, 2016 2004 is one of the best years in Raw history in terms of great matches. Nobody should skip that stuff, it's fucking great.
SteveJRogers Posted April 3, 2016 Report Posted April 3, 2016 Granted its less than 24 hours at this point, but Freebird is still on the On Demand version of last night's ceremony. Surprised that either they got the rights somehow, or no one edited the segment for On Demand yet.
Loss Posted April 4, 2016 Report Posted April 4, 2016 2004 Raw is the closest WWE ever was to being Jim Crockett Promotions.
BigBadMick Posted April 4, 2016 Report Posted April 4, 2016 2004 Raw is the closest WWE ever was to being Jim Crockett Promotions. Interesting. Please elaborate. I like what you're saying, I just don't quite see the links.
Loss Posted April 4, 2016 Report Posted April 4, 2016 Heel stable modeled after the Four Horsemen having good, long matches against babyfaces who could work most weeks. Lots of bloody angles and focus on titles. Eugene as Rick Steiner. Shelton Benjamin as Sting.

victory Posted April 5, 2016 Report Posted April 5, 2016 Interesting comparison. I never thought of 2004 Raw like that at all. Maybe if I did I would of enjoyed it more.
Scarlet-Left Posted April 5, 2016 Report Posted April 5, 2016 Is there any rhyme or reason to what shows they put match time-stamps on or not?
SteveJRogers Posted April 5, 2016 Report Posted April 5, 2016 Is there any rhyme or reason to what shows they put match time-stamps on or not? The only one I know is "hiding" Benoit related segments.
Scarlet-Left Posted April 5, 2016 Report Posted April 5, 2016 Is there any rhyme or reason to what shows they put match time-stamps on or not? The only one I know is "hiding" Benoit related segments. I mean on recent shows. The latest 'Main Event' lacked time-stamps, as did a recent episode of 'NXT'.

Stiva Posted April 6, 2016 Report Posted April 6, 2016 I believe the Katie Vick episode of Raw has just been added. Tremendous
