Jim Crockett Promotions is looking for some more teams to be part of its NWA Tag Team Titles Tournament taking place throughout July. In addition to home teams like The Freebirds, Russians, and Vachons, the best teams from around the world have already signed up, including Stampede's British Bulldogs, Montreal's Midnight Express, and. All Japan's going lions team of Misawa and Kawada.

Following the tournament, the new NWA Tag Team Champions will be available for bookings, especially to promotions that participate.

Depending on how far teams advance, dates would include July 14, 16, 21, 23, and 28.

Central States, due to certain assurances made to H&H Incorporated, is...proud...to offer the Zambuie Express.

Joe Blanchard & Southwest Championship Wrestling is offering El Gran Apollo & Jose Lothario as first round losers. We realize they do not have high standing with the fans in the Mid-Atlantic region and thus Joe doth not protest too much when it comes to their treatment in the tournament. We only ask that they be treated respectfully and that Jose Lothario, despite whatever griping and complaining he may do about it, will be the one to take the fall.

From the office of Antonio Inoki: Young lion Nobuhiko Takada will be available from July 12 to July 19 if anyone wants to take a young talent for the week and give him some exposure. I am asking for nothing in return except the opportunity for Takada to learn from your best veterans. Also, he is quite handsome so a no blood policy is asked out of courtesy. Takada is about to receive a major push in New Japan so some touring experience will be good for him.

I am planning a big house show in Milwaukee for July 22nd including a tournament for the vacant AWA world tag team titles. I am looking for a visiting team willing to go to a shmoz Double DQ elimination in the first round. I am also looking for someone with a bit of name value but obviously not one of the top people in their territory who will have a clean loss in a technical match with one of my top babyfaces. Sorry for being so vague, I just don't want to give away my finishes in a public forum. I know I am asking a lot, but I will do what I can to pay it back. Please PM me if you can help out with either of these situations.

From the desk of Frank Valois, sent to every other promoter:

Recently my booking staff and I have been discussing the direction that the International Wrestling Association should take. It has very likely become clear to anyone paying attention that the Canadian International Tag Team Titles will be our main focus. As a result of that we are focusing heavily on tag teams very heavily. One plan put forth in our meetings involved the heavy use of outside talent on television as well as our Montreal Forum shows to promote the importance of the titles and our tag division. That option was considered, but rejected due to it's overly aggressive and ambitious as well as costly nature. We feel that our original goal of becoming a valuable member of the National Wrestling Alliance can be achieved alongside developing our own new contenders for the above mentioned titles It is our considered opinion that we have a talent roster that lends itself to bringing in both experienced and inexperienced tag teams. The Midnight Express, Jacques & Raymond Rougeau and Gino Brito/Tony Parisi are all experienced tag teams that are experienced and technically proficient. There are many tag teams across North America that would match up well with any of these teams. Our tag team division also boasts teams as varied as the exciting pairing of Jim Brunzell and Phil Lafon, the intimidating King Tonga and Tonga John, young Armand Rougeau and his mentor, veteran Rene Goulet as well as Canadian veterans Pierre "Mad Dog" Lefebvre and Gille "the Fish" Poisson. We feel that young tag teams or those without experience tagging together could benefit greatly from spending time working in Quebec, as well as contributing to the development of young talent like Phil Lafon, Armand Rougeau and Tonga John. We also want to protect the name value of any tag team that we host in order to make them a commodity that our fans will recognize and appreciate in the future, should they choose to return. In closing, we hope that the International Wrestling Association will have cordial and mutually beneficial relationships with any future business partners.

Sincerely,

Frank Valois

Joe Blanchard kicked, screamed, pleaded, and cried until I could take no more. After incredibly intense and elaborate negotiations Southwest Championship Wrestling would like to welcome back from his lengthy stay in the WWF: The Turk, Ali Bey!

As the newest member of the NWA, the WWA is willing to send its talent to any other NWA members shows as long as the dates do not coincide with our major shows. Our TV airs at 10am Saturday mornings, so with the exception of some Friday nights talent is largely available just about every night.
