vikingsfan73
I've seen people shitting on the NWA relaunch elsewhere, and that is what it is - but my god. I'm loving these little video packages they've been putting together over the past several weeks. At the end of the day, I'm a fan. I'm going to go to bat for anything I'm digging, and I'm enjoying this stuff immensely at the moment. Â Â I agree with you, these video packages have been great. I had the opportunity to see Tim Storm defend the NWA title last May while I was at the CAC, but I chose to go to Fremont St that night. Kind of wished that I would have stayed to see his match. Don't get me wrong, I had fun on Fremont, so I'm not kicking myself that much! Â I'm glad to see CWFH working with the NWA again. I think the last great series that title had were the Pearce vs. Cabana bouts.

The Thread Killer
I'll gladly leave all the "money mark" talk about Corgan at the door. Â I agree with you. Â I've never seen Corgan as a money mark. I always considered a money mark to be somebody who had a lot of cash to pour into a (usually ill conceived and poorly run) wrestling organization and then got conned out of their money by people a lot wiser to the business than they are. (See: Carter, Dixie.) Â Like him or not, Corgan is no dummy and he came into this process of getting involved with wrestling with his eyes wide open. And even if he didn't originally, he ran his own indie for a good while, and his experiences with Panda Energy should have awoken him to the rampant lies and unbelievable con-man level bullshit in this line of work. Â On top of that, he has spent years dealing with people in the music/entertainment industry, which actually gives Pro Wrestling a run for it's money when it comes to the number of lying con-men per square foot. joeg
This Flair 30 for 30 is fucking awesome. Nothing you haven't heard before but very well done, basically imagine if an RF shoot had been done by professionals.

JaymeFuture
Has it come out at all how much Corgan actually paid for the NWA name?
iamthedoctor
The story is they wanted to, Savage pushed for it, but Vince shot it down  Which makes no sense, I mean back then Vince always had a hard on about HBK so why not let Randy end his wrestling days in a feud with Michaels? In all likely hood Randy probably then would have happily stayed retired as Commentator for years to come.
SomethingSavage
I like how people pretend that Savage wasn't super frugal or motivated by, ya know, making money so he could afford to live a very comfortable life after wrestling someday. Life has priorities. Of course it's easy to say Savage would've been satisfied and would've stayed put, but come on. There's no way of knowing. Bischoff was ALWAYS going to come calling eventually - especially after Hogan was fully on board. And Randy likely would have ended up going there, regardless. El-P
Atsushi Onita retired. I mean, last week.
Richeyedwards
Atsushi Onita retired. I mean, last week. In what was his 7th retirement/indefinite period of absence. Kouraken looked dangerously full around 2000+ level which despite what ajw may have said is more than the building can hold and still be somewhat legal. Â The best part of the night was asking for his retirement ceremony to be done early in the night so his elderly mother could get home safely. iamthedoctor
Watched Survivor Series 1992 last night and a bit of Prime Time Wrestling from 92 and this guy who played Santa following Bret's match I think must have also been the same guy who returned a year to celebrate with Luger and unveil Dink.  http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3jg7ab  Any ideas who the guy was? There were multiple issues, Vince could not afford in that period to have Savage wrestle regularly. But Savage was already wealthy and of he were creatively satisfied, he might have hung tough during the lean times. But the combination of both was too much. Jmare007
~ Yuji Okabayashi was announced to be undergoing shoulder surgery in December and will be out of action for at least a year. Â I'm legit sad about this. Yuji is one of the most entertaining performers in the world right now and him losing a year AGAIN is devastating
iamthedoctor
Is there any truth to the rumour that Hogan actually slammed Yokozuna at a House Show in 93? Â I remember reading about a fan who attended the show claimed this happened but is unsure if any footage exists. Â Â Reading about Hogan's run in 93 and how they were building Gonzalez as they wanted him strong after Mania often wondered why they never wrestled at Summerslam. With the Hogan/Yokozuna tour coming to a end seeing Hogan slam the Giant would have been a great way to end his run or didn't Vince want anything overshadowing Lex Luger's push? CarpetCrawler
Was recently extremely lucky to be able to get my hands on one of these and it's maybe one of my favorite pieces of wrestling memorabilia I've ever owned. WingedEagle
I'm watching Judgment day 2009 and it certainly looks as though Edge is wearing Prada boots/shoes. Can anyone confirm? Was this always the case for him and I just didn't notice it until now? Did / do other wrestlers wear designer shoes rather than any kind of athletic gear? So many questions!
