Marty
How will they ensure the Knockouts won't take any food supplies?
bradhindsight
I can't fault them for helping out the local food bank while papering the arena like they would anyway. But you'd think with the importance of these tapings they would have scheduled this out in more of a TNA-strong foothold (if that is a thing). cm funk
Have they done any tapings in Florida since they ditched the Impact Zone? Seems like most have been in the mid-west and mid-south, but I haven't been paying close attention
Tim Evans
They did a taping a couple months ago in Tampa. I think they also went to Jacksonville.
Ricky Jackson
Chico: Â I wouldn't have believed this had I not seen it with my own two eyes, but I was sent a photo by reader Drew from Impact last night taken from behind the announcers, and they've got two monitors, one of which is showing Impact and the other of which is airing the NFL game. Tenay and Taz were watching the game all night while doing the show. And then he writes this, just to remind me why I can't stand him (even though he's still on my Facebook ): Â The final Mayweather vs. Canelo hype special is available here. Mayweather is the best heel world champion in a long time, at least until you scroll down a little and check out some Ric Flair from the 80s. Stiva
Let's say someone buys out TNA. What from their back catalogue is actually worth keeping? Do WWE (and I'm assuming this is who buys them) have Sting, Angle and Jeff Hardy on their hands? There's potential for another DVD for all of those guys and they could spin it as "wow, he lost his mind for a couple of years there but he came back and he was better than ever!" cm funk
Let's say someone buys out TNA. What from their back catalogue is actually worth keeping? A "Best of TNA" comp would surprise people. When you cut out all the crap there's been a lot of good stuff done in TNA over the years. It's just overshadowed by the sheer amount of crap and stupidity.
JerryvonKramer
What would be on it though?
cm funk
What would be on it though? Jeff Jarrett-Kurt Angle matches. Jarrett aged into a very fine worker and tones down Kurt's usual spot-spot-spot bullshit  Samoa Joe's entire first run where he has a bunch of awesome glorified squash matches and looks like the most badass killer walking the planet  Lots of AJ Styles. AJ Styles dragged the best match out of Matt Morgan's career. He had fun non-garbage matches with Abyss. Really good matches with Daniels, and too many X-Division matches to list.  Motor City Machine Guns  Beer Money  Doug Williams  New Jack & Shark Boy tag team  LAX when Konnan was really into it and Homicide was working his ass off  I could go on listing things I've liked in TNA for hours, the point is, if you wade through the sea of crap you'll find some good shit

cm funk
Joe vs. Steiner is great  If you're a Scott Steiner fan.....that's another reason to go through the TNA vault. Late period Scott Steiner is awesome. He cuts so many hilarious promos, has a lot of fun matches, and generally is very motivated. Much closer to WCW 00-01 Steiner than what we got in the WWE.  I'd add Steiner/Booker vs. Team 3D vs. British Invasion (Doug Williams & Magnus) vs. Beer Money from Bound For Glory 09. It's a "Full Metal Mayhem" match (TLC) with both the TNA and IWGP tag titles hanging above the ring. It was actually Booker's last night in the company and he's taken out of the match immediately, leaving Steiner to go it alone. The crowd goes nuts for Steiner and he has some awesome house of fire moments where he just takes out everyone. I haven't seen the match since that night but I remember it being a lot of fun. Alucard
I'd add the Aries/Roode matches from Destination X and Hardcore Justice 2012 to that list as probably my favorite series in company history. Hell probably a lot of Aries stuff over the last 2 years.. the Aries/Hardy matches were good, Aries/Sting from earlier this year was real enjoyable too. Aries/Sabin/Manik from June was the best Sabin's looked since returning. Aries/Shelley from Against All Odds 2012 is another.. great X Divsion style match. Jimmy Redman
Also Aries/Joe from Slammiversary 2012 and Aries/Bully at Sacrifice 2012, which are my favourite TNA matches of the last couple years by leaps and bounds, along with the Gail/Taryns. Â I can't see it on the list, but AMW vs Team Canada from Final Resolution 2005 is an excellent tag match. Â There have been a lot of good TNA matches over the years, plenty enough for a comp. In fact, if anything, in-ring would be TNA's best attribute, since you can cherry pick a bunch of good matches and largely ignore the shitty booking that surrounded them. Â I think the much harder prospect is finding good out of the ring stuff for a theoretical TNA Yearbook/extras deal. Aside from Steiner math promos, TNA don't really produce ANYTHING worthwhile out of the ring, and the booking has always been atrocious. El Boricua
The Bob Backlund appearances were entertaining. There's also evil Tony Schiavone.

goc
If anyone is going to subject themselves to the torture of going through TNA, at least don't waste any money on it. As far as a few months ago when I most recently looked, the weekly PPVs and most of the monthlys are still available in the normal places. Might be a bit more difficult to get full year runs of iMPACT though I am not sure.
El-P
Yeah, you can find most of this stuff. FWIW, I haven't spend a dime on anything pro-wrestling related since 2002.
Jimmy Redman
I went through a few of the Weekly PPVs searching for the early AMW/XXX feud (basically all of their matches are good too, by the way), and it was interesting in a morbid kind of way. I was actually pretty horrified at how many times I hesitated before skipping over the next Glen Gilberti promo or Mike Sanders match. Â If I had the time to devote to it I wouldn't rule out going through the Weekly PPVs. Although I would never recommend the idea to someone who has already been as mentally traumatised by Russo as El-P has. Â Speaking of Backlund though, I amend my statement to say that the PCS series of skits with Nash and the X Division were the only worthwhile out of the ring stuff TNA ever did. Sidebottom
Nah there are a few good things kicking around. The Team 3D funeral was good, Bobby Roode trying to secure a manager - although a direct rip off of Savage trying to find one and ending up with Liz - was good for what it was. Kurt Angle's debut / Samoa Joe clash was good (if that counts, because it was in a ring I guess). But yeah, the negatives far outweigh he positives... Alucard
I'm not going to go through TNA. No, I'm not gonna. It really is the best way to continue on with your reviews. bradhindsight
Well chaps, at least you've got me semi-interested. This is even starting to look like a possible comp collection of youtube clips. I know you're not a YT guy typically - but this user "TNAclassic upload" has a lot of the individual matches noted above. Test drive before you buy if you will. I would love to hear your thoughts on how this holds up based on you having no history with the promotion.
