  1. Well I'm sure Mick's checks always cleared, plus he got to work 1/10th the schedule so I guess it was pretty great that Dixie got into the business from his perspective.
  2. It was definitely post TNA, as there were times he was certainly in the HBK style "no condition to perform" state on Impact. It made Dixie's comments come off as either her being the dumbest person ever or the most naive since she's the one that would have okayed him going out there like that.
  3. Sony is currently in "Arrogant Sony" mode, which they always seem to fall into when they are winning a console generation. Recently Minecraft went cross platform for Xbox, PC, and Switch leaving out PS4 users. When asked why, Sony gave a laughable excuse of wanting to protect Playstation users from possible inappropriate content. When Nintendo (the most famously family friendly company in gaming) is on board you know that got laughed out of the room. It wouldn't surprise me if they pull something similar here. It won't matter though, Fire Pro users find a way. If we could swap data on Japanese only Super Famicom versions back in the day, transferring data to a PS4 won't be tough.
  4. For a company that beats "we put smiles on faces" to death as a slogan, they sure do like to bum everyone out by making the good guys looks like geeks. It's even more baffling when you consider the most money they ever made was when the evil boss and his minions were made to look like fools by the heroic everyman babyface on a regular basis. For as much as they continue to lionize that era (and they should, considering it was their most successful time) they sure don't seem to remember just why it was so great.
  5. I don't know if he's going to pan out to be what the company expects him to be, but he does have a bad ass aura a lot of the roster lacks. So many heels come off as someone playing bad guy, Corbin comes off as a legit bad guy who gives no fucks (probably because his real personality is not too far from that).
  6. The WWE 24 on Kurt Angle was great, as that series tends to be, but man did it leave you not wanting to ever see him wrestle again. The whole theme was when he wrestles he won't stop until he breaks his neck, and even then he will rush to come back as soon as possible. He seems to be in a great place in life and I hope his rumored comeback won't mess up his sobriety.
  7. I always wondered what happened to him. It seemed like he was at worst looking like what Bray Wyatt is today (gimmick guy who can be plugged into the main event scene if needed) and then he seemingly fell off the face of the Earth. I figured he didn't shake the right hand or some other WWE code violation.
  8. Maybe not, the last Fire Pro game (FP Returns) was a $19.99 budget title on PS2 so they might go the same route here. FPW is great. For those of us who had to deal with downloading CAWs to old gen systems, the Steam marketplace is mind blowing.
  9. So is Donnie Jr the Mike Von Erich of this story here? Or is he Chris since he's clearly over his head and not cut out for the family biz?
  10. If they do that and he ends up beating her to death it's not going to look good for them PR wise.
  11. Because WWE might be the only way she has out of what is increasingly looking like an abusive situation?
  12. Also is it weird to think that the best thing for Paige at this point would be to go back on the road with WWE? It would get her away from him and this might be the one time where WWE's fetish for breaking up real life couples might be a good thing.
  13. Wasn't ROH always charging people to break in though? SBGI may be more blatant but it seemed like they wanted you to go through their training schools unless you were an established indy guy before.
  14. Retiring the Undertaker at that point was like putting down the family dog when it turns 17 and they're blind and can't walk and start peeing everywhere. Once again there's a guy who's way more over that fans want to see fight for the title, but we're going to get Roman thrust in that spot again because the old man running the company secretly wants to fuck him, so I'm sure when he gets booed yet again there will still be "smart" fans crying that people are just mad about Daniel Bryan.
  15. Alberto's promo on Impact where he talks about not needing a reason to party comes off 100% more creepy now.
  16. Kayfabe wise, I agree with Brock that Roman hasn't done shit to warrant a title match. All he's done is get beat up by Braun and somehow that warrants being in the #1 contender's match because reasons.
  17. The first two years of WWE ECW have dropped this morning.
  18. Well it's no secret that pro wrestling is a different beast than practically every other field of employment other than the porn industry.
  19. Watching night 2 on NJPW World and while JR was fine on commentary, he kept mentioning the people who were mad at him from the previous night to the point of it starting to get a little obnoxious. It was coming off as if he felt he was being picked on for no reason and not because he was making rookie mistakes at his job. Also yes, it's obvious why AXS wanted to use their guys on commentary, but flying in Kelly and Callis to do nothing but remind the boys they won't be calling their matches is a puzzling move.
  20. I guess in a way American fans in Bullet Club shirts are like when Russians would get blue jeans in the 80s.
  21. This. It's so frustrating to see how they had it on a silver platter to make him a superstar after Montreal, and actually were going to do it, but it got thwarted because HBK wouldn't play ball.
  22. The version of night two that went up on NJPW World was the same version that aired on AXS the next week. If I'm making guesses here I'd say AXS wanted to use JR as much as possible since they know WWE won't let him renew his deal when runs out.
  23. There seems to be pretty solid proof that Scott Williams' name was not going to be on the book and JR claiming ignorance comes off a little weaksauce since the book was his baby for a long time. The announcing thing seems like a no-win for him since of course he wouldn't be as aware of things as the regular team, and having them there came off as a passive-aggressive dick move by New Japan. Again, there seems to be proof that JR did in fact have material to study up on despite claims to the contrary. tl;dr no one is coming off especially great here
  24. To be fair, it started from Dave defending JR's flub ups on night one of the Long Beach shows by saying New Japan doesn't do production meetings, but Bix pointed out that JR was tweeting out pics of the material he was given to study up on the days leading up to the show. So even if they don't normally do pre show prep, JR clearly was given the opportunity to brush up. Also for some reason they flew in Kevin Kelly and Don Callis to the shows despite knowing AXS wanted to use their team, which only served to annoy the talent since they were lobbying for them to do the show since they were more familiar with the product.
  25. Looks like it might be a good time to bump this since JR and Bix are scrapping on Twitter.
