Sometimes all you need to have a great match is two great athletes having a competitive, physical back & forth battle just to prove who the better man is. And that's exactly what we got here. The battle of the former Bullet Club bosses featured a red hot atmosphere, that great back & forth, competitive action + great bumping & selling. The post-match Too Sweet was also amazing. Excellent match. ****1/4

First of all, I really liked Angle coming out with The Shield gear on. A wonderful character touch since Angle used to do goofy shit like that all the time during his first WWE run. Then the actual match - it was such a cluster, but I really loved it. Ambrose & Rollins were on fire from start to finish - super strong performances by them, The Miz played his role to absolute perfection & the rest of the guys did their parts very well too. I liked all the twists & turns - Angle getting out of the match after getting destroyed by Braun was great & his eventual comeback with his own music was a goosebumps worthy moment - him just throwing all the bad guys around w/ his signature Suplexes & Angle Slams ruled. The Braun/Kane angle was also executed really well & made Braun look badass as usual. I feel like this match could've been even better had Reigns been able to compete, but goddamn, I still had such a blast watching this. Super enjoyable stuff. ****

This was so incredibly entertaining. Trevor Lee's TNA heel shtick, Chuck Taylor joining the match & having to go to the back & get geared up for it, him accidentally slamming his own partner Joey Janela, confusing him with Trevor Lee because of their similar gear, WALTER having none of the fun & games, Flamita coming in & showcasing that freakish quickness of his, WALTER & Jonah brawling to the back... This one was just absolute gold from start to finish. A PWG classic! ****1/2

This was such a great David vs. Goliath sprint. Keith dominated most of the match because of his superior size & strength - he threw Fenix around in an awesome fashion. Fenix was brilliant as the fiery underdog fighting from underneath with his sick chops & fast paced flurries of dives. Excellent stuff. ****

This was super enjoyable. Riddle & Penta brought their destructive offense against each other in an excellent, intense bout. ****

This was just absolutely ridiculous in the most positive way possible. Not only was this an absolutely incredible collection of insane moves, sequences & memorable moments by two huge monsters, it also told a great story of Dijak doing everything he possibly could think of to try & put his biggest rival down. Keith answered with the same thing; he did everything he could do to put the super focused Dijak down. The no sell, fighting spirit moments were super well timed & done. Amazing match. ****1/2

Definitely my most awaited first round tournament match up in this year's edition of BOLA. And it did not disappoint - the big lads delivered just as expected! Loved all the stuff on the mat, glad to see WALTER & Keith showcase their technical skills & of course we got some beefy BIG BOY action between them as well. All in all, a really good, borderline great match. 2nd best 1 vs. 1 match of the night behind Travis Banks vs. Mark Haskins. ***3/4

This was well on it's way of being a **** match, but then the finish happened. Usually stuff like that doesn't bother me much, but this time it was so goddamn confusing that it made the match lose quite a bit of it's fire. But yeah, it is what it is - if we do not count the huge botch by the ref in the finish, this was an absolutely kickass match. Mark Haskins & Travis Banks kicked the crap out of each other & it was lovely. Very strong performances by both. ***3/4

An incredibly entertaining trios match. The heat segment on Fenix was great, the comedy was fine & pretty much everything apart from those 2 things I mentioned were straight up highspot after highspot stuff - and it was pretty damn amazing. ****1/2

Best match of the night. Jonah Rock looked great in his PWG debut as he got to showcase his monster role against one of the absolute best in the world, Zack Sabre Jr. He did great work over ZSJ, showcasing that move-set of his while ZSJ worked the David role super well as expected - loved how he worked more & more over that leg throughout match, weakening Jonah as the bout went on. Jonah sold it really well, one of the highlights was him not being able to go & do that Frog Splash right away because of the damage he had taken. Great stuff. ****

Well I certainly wasn't expecting a match of this kind & quality from AR Fox & Shane Strickland! Goddamn, what an awesome grudge battle! They told a great story, the athleticism was great as expected from the two, the brutality was off the charts & the big spots came off as legitimate "holy shit" spots. Absolutely amazing stuff. As of now I think it's my pick for the best match in Lucha Underground's young history. A hell of a war, indeed! ****1/2

My pick for the best match of the night. Which is a big surprise because I think their PWG match is a big time candidate for the worst match of 2017 - so I definitely wasn't expecting much from them in this. Such a pleasant surprise. Chuckie T & Scurll just had a fantastic competitive back & forth match which flowed super well. Matches like this is exactly what I want ROH to be about. Loved it. ****

[2017-09-24-WWE-No Mercy] Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman
ShittyLittleBoots replied to GOTNW's topic in September 2017
I have a somewhat mixed feelings on this match. On one hand, I thought it was really good. A borderline great match that would've hit the ****+ mark had there been more heat to it. Lesnar's performance was great with him selling the damage Braun had done to his back super well. But then on the other hand, the booking was absolute dogshit. This could've & should've been so much more - it shouldn't have ended with just one F5, and goddamn, if it had to end with just one F5, they could've built to that in more dramatic, epic fashion. The great build to this match deserved that. But it is whatever - I didn't really expect this to be anything more than what it ended up being. I enjoyed it a lot. ***3/4- 3 replies

Another great match between these 2 teams. Great storytelling with The Bar completely dominating Rollins & Ambrose w/ their awesome team work - Cesaro & Sheamus were really great working the heat on The Shield and the comebacks of The Shield were good. I thought the finish was really good too w/ the champs outsmarting Cesaro & Sheamus big time to get the win. Also much respect to Cesaro for finishing the match after losing some teeth in brutal fashion. That made for an awesome image when Cesaro had Ambrose in the Crossface while his mouth was all bloody. Great stuff. ****

I am SUPER high on this match. I thought it was so, so, so excellent. Amazing performances by both & great storytelling throughout the thing; loved Baszler establishing dominance with her MMA-esq work over Kairi. Her strikes were really great. Loved the arm work, that had such a charm to it - gave me some Billy Robinson vibes. Great stuff. Kairi's selling of that was great, as it was in general from start to finish - she showed such great heart & fire. Her countering that brutal arm work of Shayna's by going after her ribs was excellent & played well into the finish with her dropping that beautiful Elbow on her. Absolutely loved everything about this. The way the crowd got more & more into it as it went on was so awesome. Excellent package of pro wrestling. ****1/2

Amazing, just as I expected it to be. Started off with Thatcher & WALTER completely owning Bate & Seven - they got to do work over them for a pretty lengthy amount of time & it was amazing. Both of them are really great on the offense. It was only after Seven did a low blow on Thatcher that BSS got some real offense in - they did really good work over Thatcher and Thatcher, as usual, was excellent with his selling. I've said it before & I'll say it again - he might just be the best seller in the business right now. WALTER was an awesome hot tag as well. The finishing stretch was also really hot & a great way to cap off a classic tag match. ****1/2

[2017-08-27-AJPW] Shuji Ishikawa vs Kento Miyahara
ShittyLittleBoots replied to superkix's topic in August 2017
This was so great. Shuji just gives Kento's neck a mean, badass beating throughout the whole thing - his targeting of that neck was absolutely brilliant, super focused as pretty much everything he did was aimed at that neck. Kento's selling of that was absolutely perfect; especially loved the wobbly legs selling he did during the strike trading moment & then after that headbutt spot. So, so good. Amazing performances by both guys. A classic. ****3/4 -
Excellent match. Great performances from all involved - Strong BJ did their thing & it was awesome as usual; loved their work over KAI & Nomura + they sold super well for them when it was time for that as well. Gotta agree with all the talk of this being a standout performance from Nomura, he truly did have a very strong performance. ****

On par with their BOSJ '17 match. Ricochet dominated most of it, doing great work at that, Ospreay was really damn good selling for him - loved his rag doll selling of Ricochet's kicks while he was on the ground. His comebacks were really good as well + that finish was very neat. Even the annoying 'we're equals' flippy sequence they always do looked pretty cool because they were still wearing their entrance gear, looking like goddamn superheroes. Really good match. ***3/4

Before this, I only knew Bianca Belair from some gifs I had seen on twitter, so I had no idea what to expect. Damn did her performance really blow me away; the match saw her really dominate Kairi until Kairi made her big comeback & won the thing. Kairi was obviously awesome, selling her ass off & her comebacks were really great, but goddamn, Bianca stole the show. Her work over Kairi was so great - all of her offense came off as very violent, I loved it. She laid all of her stuff in like a veteran. That hair gimmick was AWESOME. I also thought that she gave a very strong character performance - at first she was really cocky because she was dominating the tournament favorite, but as she wasn't being able to put her away, the frustration & desperation grew and all of that could be seen in her facial expressions & overall body language. The 450 was really cool & added to that, with her busting such a big move out to try & put Kairi away. Terrific performance. I just looked up on Cagematch and she has only been wrestling since September of 2016. Goddamn. There's some serious potential in there. This was great, great stuff. ****
