Matt D Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 I love that WWE has decided to fill 3 hours with tag matches. And we don't even have Sid breaking them up.
NintendoLogic Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 Michael Cole reading off quotes from everyone during their matches drives me bonkers. Why don't they do inserts with the wrestlers themselves saying whatever it is that they said earlier in the day? They do sometimes. Now that I think about it, though, I can't remember seeing one in a while.
Log Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 Is Shawn Michaels married? How the hell does his wife let him leave the house dressed like that? He's wearing fucking rain boots for fuck's sake.
NintendoLogic Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 That's business casual by Texas standards.
Marty Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 I missed the show last night, but read the results, and noticed AJ's team won a six Diva tag. Can't believe I'm asking this, but in any way was AJ made to look bad, or was there anything the commentators made reference to regarding the news on Sunday, etc.?
Ryan Faulconer Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 The only thing I saw last night was the main event's last ten minutes or so. It was awesome. The finish was great even though I actually feel invested in the outcome of Daniel Bryan matches. Was it just me or did Orton get no reaction at all posing with the belts as the show ended? I ordered a couple of the ROH Danielson comps with the black friday sale. I had some of that stuff on VHS but that batch disappeared sometime between back surgeries (twice) and moving (twice). I also ordered the Punk title run DVD because I missed it completely when it happened in ROH. I'm not as much of a fan of his as I am of Danmerican Dragbryanson but it sounded like something I should see and enjoy. Is the Ryback thread at DVDVR made up of the same two people with multiple accounts? I wish I could turn back the sands of time on that one. He wouldn't even be the best member of Da Baldies stable...and they would be believable shouting "FEED ME MORE!"
Matt D Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 I loved Bryan kicking out the AWA legwork in that match. Did he get the set or something?
NintendoLogic Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 For all that Bryan apparently learned from Regal, he also seems to have picked up some of Regal's bad habits like spotty selling. He went from acting like his arm was about to fall off to skinning the cat and applying the Yes Lock with no apparent difficulty.
C.S. Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 "Guys busting their ass to get signed - but El Torito gets a paycheck - guess its good for business" - Rip Rogers' twitter. <_ apparently he just shits on midgets in general. can go fuck himself. mascrita sagrada rules and dorada is pretty good his own right deserves this.>I always liked Rip, but seriously, has he ever drawn a dime in his life to be able to say with any authority what's good for business? Maybe part of is that Rip was never really utilized in a major promotion, but with WCW giving at least minor pushes to the likes of Firebreaker Chip and Joe Gomez, Rip probably could have gone places if he had anything at all. Am I being too harsh? Again, I actually liked what I saw of Rip.
goodhelmet Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 Eh, I don't think you have to actually draw money to know what draws money.

He's really cool to talk to about wrestling. Has a photographic memory for dates and stuff. His opinion on wrestling would really gel with people around here.
Johnny Sorrow Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 So I've been in Tacoma for a work conference since Sunday and missed the TLC PPV. They're putting me up in a five star hotel and it's been pretty cool. However, this morning the ceiling in my bathroom was dripping water from the light fixture as a result of some problem with the room above mine. I told the front desk this morning before heading out to my work deal. When I got back this evening I found out they moved me to an new room and it's an upgrade to a suite. I moved my shit into my giant new room, turn on the TV and I see Jerry Lawler vs Eric Embry in a steel cage. Life is good. Edit: I meant to post this in the mega posts that don't need a thread thread . But I am half in the bag.
MikeCampbell Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 Eh, I don't think you have to actually draw money to know what draws money. Exactly. It's no different than the notion that you don't have to be a wrestler to know what makes good and bad wrestling. Or, like Dave used to say, you don't need to be a chef to know that the food stinks.

Death From Above Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 Rip hates the midget and the divas (especially the divas a lot) but generally he talks a lot of good sense in the "old wrestler looks back on what wrestling was and laments that it will never be so again" way, or at least as much as you can in 140 characters or less. Most of the things that he points out are blatantly wrong with WWE's current TV climate I agree with, from what little I've watched over the last year. I find him one of the better "people in the business" twitter accounts, overall.
Jimmy Redman Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 On another note, I'm watching NXT and they just announced that Regal vs Cesaro will be on next week. Mark your calendars boys.
Timbo Slice Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards debuted tonight at NXT. Richards took the last name of Billington. Imagine the shock.
Jimmy Redman Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Yeah I forgot to mention that, they tinkered with the names. Davey is Derek Billington, Eddie takes over as John Cahill. This after audibly introducing them as Cahill and Philbin before the match. I kind of want them to get picked up. They're already over in the NXT Arena for who they are, and working 5 minute WWE TV matches with the Ascension and shit will curb almost all of their bad habits. They'll be good fodder for the tag division.
Sidebottom Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Davey Richards is no Tommy Billington... at all.
Blehschmidt Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 That may be the single most entertaining thing that Randy Orton has ever done......
cheapshot Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 That may be the single most entertaining thing that Randy Orton has ever done...... This is probably one of the most entertaining things they've done in ages.
KrisZ Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 I went ahead and split the Smackdown Six stuff into it's own topic to keep it away from the current stuff. http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?showtopic=21517
KrisZ Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 SPOILER ALERT This great man is coming back to WWE for Mania.
Cox Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 At first I wondered if he was coming back to plug Guardians of the Galaxy, but that isn't released for another 4+ months after Mania, so maybe he's just bored?
Eduardo Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 Will the turtle neck and/or the leather vest return is my question.
