Bix
Any of you guys using Chromecast for the network? Just wondering if it's any good.[/size] No native support. If you want a cheap WWE Network device, the Roku LT is the best option.
Eduardo
I was watching WWF One Night Only, and the great Undertaker vs Bret Hart match is missing. Apparently, the match was cut from the VHS release, but included in the DVD release. Also, before Davey Boy Smith vs Shawn Michaels starts, there is a sign that gets a decent amount of screentime that contains a certain gay slur that starts with the "F" letter. shoe
anyone else missing rumble 2014 and episodes 1, 5 and 6 of raw from 1993 on the roku? I don't see these on my Roku, computer, or phone. So I don't think it's just a Roku thing.

Posted this on DVDVR the other day: The first Raw is still up if you go through the search function: http://network.wwe.com/video/v31360101 As is episode 5:http://network.wwe.com/video/v31359873 They should both work, still cant find episode 6 though. It must be a glitch in their system or they are hiding stuff until all the free trails ends. Does anyone have any idea why they are airing Hardcore TV and WCCW out of order? sek69
This is going to sound like I'm an apologist, but all things considered the WWE Network launch was amazingly successful. Yeah, some things didn't work from the start, but the biggest mess arguably wasn't 100% their fault (Xbox 360 app being broken). Considering the amount of people hammering the service the first few days, I don't think they could have had it gone too much better. Their biggest hurdle to overcome probably won't be anything service related, but the impatience of the ADD Generation who expect large undertakings like this to work flawlessly from the jump. I didn't see too much of it here, but the WON board was flooded with threads full of people whining over the slightest bump in the road as if it was their birthright for this to be flawless. Protip: the free trial was more or less the beta test to see how well things held up when the floodgates opened. Clearly their biggest concern was the live feed since that's where PPVs will be shown, once that showed to be running smoothly (save for the hiccup during the NXT show) the VOD stuff started working better as well. Dwide Schrude
How do you get it on the ps3? I realize that questions sounds so stupid, but I really have no idea. I assumed it would be up there where you can sign up for netflix, redbox, amazon etc but it's not.
Tim Cooke
'This is going to sound like I'm an apologist, but all things considered the WWE Network launch was amazingly successful. Yeah, some things didn't work from the start, but the biggest mess arguably wasn't 100% their fault (Xbox 360 app being broken).' I agree with Sek. By Wednesday, everything worked perfectly on my iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and computer. WWE could have done a better job in helping everyone's expectations. I saw that a lot of people took off work on on 2/24 to watch and that is half on WWE and half on the individual. No tech launch runs 100% smooth. When HBOGo first launched, with much less of a base using its functionality, it had a 1 week start of all kinds of issues, in addition to just being a computer only system at launch. I've got nothing but positive things to say about how well this thing went.
flyonthewall2983
Agreed 100% with both you guys. These issues have only been amplified because of the IWC. Whatever glitches and problems HBO had, they weren't made into news items. Whether or not they make it to WM armed and ready for anything to happen, is another issue. Hopefully as I previously said, they're all hands on deck with how to smooth out the rough edges so we can all watch with little or no interference at all. PSN Store -> Apps -> scroll all the way right to "view all apps", it used to be in the upper left corner. I think you can also just search for "WWE" and you'll see it mixed within the games. It will sit right where Amazon and Netflix are on your PSN home.

There was never a DVD release of One Night Only, unless perhaps Silvervision did one off the live feed for their UK distribution (they put tons of cool stuff on DVD). But yes, instead of airing the full show - which we know they have since the Bret/Taker match was on Taker's Tombstone DVD, we got the abriged VHS version. Disappointing. khawk20
Question...was the free trial only for the first week, or will it be a standard offer for anyone that wants to take the network for a test drive before committing to purchase it? Just curious, thanks.
hammerva
i thought it was for your first week of membership. Although I doubt that rule will apply during Wrestlemania week
Loss
It was fixed dates. The free trial was one week starting last Monday. If you signed up Tuesday, it was only a 6-day trial, and so on. If you sign up now, you missed the free trial.
shoe
I thought for the most part the launch went pretty smooth. I know they must prioritize and make sure the live stream is working for Mania. I just wish their was better communication on their part . For example on their website they should have a list that says we are aware of these problems. Like with my Roku having 3 shows that kick me off the network when I VOD them. Or the fact that Royal Rumble 2014 isn't listed. These are all small hiccups in my opinion. Though I wish I knew if they know the problem exists. Lack of communication is my main problem

peachchaos
Not sure if I'll keep this after the initial 6 months. Something we haven't really mentioned is that, now, all of this content is OUT THERE. A lot of it is already available via the usual sources. The network is probably the greatest thing to ever happen, especially for someone who has been collecting high-quality rips of matches for years. That being said, obviously it's really nice to be able to just stream any PPV on my phone ANYTIME. Maybe eventually you'll be able to compile your own playlists of matches and angles. Pipe dreams? I'm not sure what you did, but you broke the formatting of the board and made every post on this page italicized. Do I wish there was more TV? Yes, but it's a great start and even being able to pull up the PPV matches so easily while I'm talking to someone is pretty fantastic. Don't underestimate the appeal of a nice interface and broadcast quality video.
peachchaos
fwiw the italics thing was happening before my post but yeah, agreed this is a great start and I am actually optimistic about the amount of content we'll get and the interface/app being improved upon
goodhelmet
For me, it really depends if the PPVs continue to produce quality matches. If they go the way Dylan predicts which is to make them less important, for somebody like me who has every show on the network already on disc, it isn't worth it. The new content has to deliver for me to continue my subscription. More shows like the NXT special would placate me enough to continue. Migs
I can't imagine that playlist functionality should be that difficult to add.
slackermillionaire
A playlist function is my dream for the Network especially if they allow users to share playlists with one another. Having people making feuds comps of say Rey-Eddie or The Shield and spending a day or two watching those seems like the best way I could use the network in a year or so time when my interest may be waning. FedEx227
I think the few of you who have everything on disc already are the super, super, super minority in this case. I can see why you guys are disinterested but I've only scratched the surface with the Network. I have just about every WWE PPV from 1987-2001 on disc, but nothing of WCW, nothing before that and very little after that. Just catching up with WCW, ECW will keep me occupied not to mention consuming the TV I've never seen before and much more.
Loss
Important to remember that they are most likely still going to add a ton of new footage to the VOD archive. I don't think they consider their work done by any means. It's just that getting the library network ready takes a lot of time and resources. peachchaos
the flip side, however, is that this network concept really pushes the WWE-centric narrative of professional wrestling even more to the forefront not that casual fans were going to bother much with Japan, Memphis, Portland, WWC...even though one can view almost the entirety of those promotions on YouTube for free
