Matt D
Back to the Owens match: I do think sometimes a match that's somewhat less "great" but can be more of a spectacle or more or more spectacular can be the RIGHT match. It's not always about what we think is good or appropriate. That match got Owens buzz, maybe even more buzz than a more balanced, more even match, one that we'd rank higher on MOTY or MOTD lists. And some people build that into how they rate a match. I generally don't, but I'll at least admit it. EDIT: I hadn't seen Redman's comments when I wrote that (just caught that), but good post on her. hammerva
Man Barrett can't catch a break in his career. Every time he wins something like a title or "King" he becomes even more of a jobber
WingedEagle
This Chamber match belongs in a chamber pot. What a shitshow. Between 2 apparent shoot issues with pods and workers who can't figure out for the life of them how to improvise the situation, this is an absolute mess. Petey
Cena/Owens was great in part because of it's flaws. I'll rant on it at length on the reaction show, but he got beat clean by Owens in Owens kind of match. Cena is the most selfless top star in history. No one else is close. I don't necessarily disagree but I'd suggest Rock is at least close.
WingedEagle
Is that the first delayed vertical suplex used as an actual delay?
jcmmnx
This match is dogshit.
Bierschwale
The Clash with the Horsemen-JTex cage match was in Corpus Christi. It feels like that's worth pointing out.
hammerva
So how many times are we going to hear that they match would be have been better if Mark Henry didn't enter the match at the wrong time. They would all be wrong by the way. Just nobody really cares about these mid-carders. And no Bray wyatt in this match wouldn't have helped
PhilTLL
"Stay there Mark, stay there!" joins the Ted DiBiase Reverse, Charge Hall of Fame. (I am a bit behind. And yeah, this is crap. Just crap, not entertaining crap.)
Jimmy Redman
How do they not tell the announcers about Sheamus' trick with the pod? Am I the only one who noticed what happened? Fuck they botched that.
(BP)
I feel for every poor bastard that's going to be sore for the next two weeks trying to heat up crowds that didn't care in matches layed out like shit.
hammerva
So they did that whole stupid thing with Shemaus locking himself into the pod and he still loses the match
Dylan Waco
I am happy Ryback won because I think he needed the title more than anyone else, but that match was shit. This show has massively under performed. Rollins and Ambrose have had tremendous t.v. matches the last two years, but never hit a home run on ppv. Now is the time for it. goodhelmet
After Sheamus entered, all was right with the world but it was rough up until then.
tim
that match sucked Also, I would love love love a heel Bryan vs. face Ryback feud.
The Chief
Good for Ryback. Guys been having a pretty good year under the radar.
WingedEagle
IC Title Chamber -- beyond awful. I didn't like a single thing here except for the winner and the post-match. Love Bryan calling him The Ryback and Ryback calling him Dan. Looked like they had a great time out there and it was nice for a couple good friends to share that. jcmmnx
It's been a one match show so far with a few great individual performances in the first chamber match.
Matt D
All I caught of that was the last minute of Ziggler being in and then Sheamus vs Ryback. So I can't judge. What I saw was a lot of fun though. I guess I'm glad I missed what I didn't? Part of me half thought that Bryan was going to clock him with the belt. I'm an eternal optimist tonight. Parties
It was either genius or dumb luck that they had Bryan there to get this over. Feel good ending, and Ryback's a fun choice. But yes, lousy disjointed match that really needed Rusev.

pol
On Cena/Owens: I didn't think the kickouts were the problem as much as the turn-taking. It's not like there were any more kickouts than a 90s AJPW main event. But those matches had long runs of control with one guy getting several near-falls over the other, then a big transition. This had a good 10-15 straight minutes of big spot -> kickout -> weak transition -> repeat. I still thought it was a good match, to be clear, and absolutely a star-making performance. Not a MOTYC though, even though as a moment it will probably end up being much more memorable than many MOTYCs.
hammerva
Based on who is in the Money in the Bank match two weeks from now, it seems that Roman Reigns would be the right choice if Rollins keeps the title for a while
