Matt D Posted April 11, 2018 Report Posted April 11, 2018 They really hate Rusev don't they? I don't know. For one thing, it means they trust Rusev to take Taker's stuff and MAYBE get some in on himself. They also trust him to work a convoluted match like a Casket Match. They see him as big enough, relative to their other options, to stand with Taker in a featured spot to a degree. I imagine if he has to travel all the way there, he'd much rather be in this match than just be in the Royal Rumble, payday aside. Plus, you know he and English are going to have a lot of fun with promos and things to build it up. Quote
Stiva Posted April 11, 2018 Report Posted April 11, 2018 Taker/Rusev ends with Taker sending the casket off to the morgue. We follow the hearse and the "morgue" is just an outhouse with "TNA" spray-painted on the side. Quote
iamthedoctor Posted April 11, 2018 Report Posted April 11, 2018 Taker didn't work the Kuweit cards or any Support to the Troops ? Will Lana be there ? (yeah, I know) I remember in 96 Taker tagged with Bret and he wrestled Davey on the actual Tournament. As for the Tribute shows I recall he had a match with Morrison. Quote
El-P Posted April 11, 2018 Report Posted April 11, 2018 Okay, so it's not even Taker's debut in the Middle-East. Thanks. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted April 11, 2018 Report Posted April 11, 2018 Well… I hope that doesn't mean we don't get a Naito match down the stretch. At this point Naito seems significantly cooled down to the point where I don't think the match would help even if it took place. Quote
Boss Rock Posted April 11, 2018 Report Posted April 11, 2018 If they make Taker-Rusev a sprint like they did with Cena at Mania this may be oddly enjoyable. Quote
iamthedoctor Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 Jericho & Angle just got announced for the Rumble. Quote
Zoo Enthusiast Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 If they make Taker-Rusev a sprint like they did with Cena at Mania this may be oddly enjoyable. Yeah, I am definitely looking forward to it. Quote
WingedEagle Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 Jericho has replaced Rusev against Undertaker. Quote
Richeyedwards Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 Well forget rusev vs taker being a fun sprint because it is apparently taker Vs Jericho now. https://www.wwe.com/amp/shows/greatest-royal-rumble/2018/undertaker-chris-jericho Edit: well timed winged eagle Quote
FMKK Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 Jericho is on course for having one of the strangest years in wrestling in quite a while lol. Quote
C.S. Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 I wonder if Rusev got yanked from the match because he said Undertaker was past his prime? Quote
FMKK Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 I wonder if Rusev got yanked from the match because he said Undertaker was past his prime? Seems like pretty standard promo material, nothing outrageous. Lana/CJ even dodged the question of women not being allowed on the card too. Quote
FMKK Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 EDIT: Lol, the account I saw that on had 12 followers so I'm assuming The Rock thing is fake Quote
Childs Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 This show is absolutely ludicrous That is a good word for it. Quote
TravJ1979 Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 I'm glad the match was changed. Rusev needs a win badly. They could have built him for a Lesnar match and we'd all buy it. I think he's buried because he isn't shy to express his true feelings about his treatment. Quote
sek69 Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 He tweeted "bury me softly, brother" when the match was first announced. The rumor mill keeps stating he asked for his release at some point, but it's clear he's in don't-give-any-fucks mode right now. What's really puzzling to me is with the Daniel Bryan thing you understood he wasn't the kind of guy Vince normally would get behind. With Rusev, he basically is a walking Vince wet dream with his look and size. Plus he actually got himself (and Aiden English) over, it boggles the mind that he still gets jobbed out. Quote
Mrzfn Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 Too short, plus getting over when you're not supposed to is still a crime in WWE-land. Quote

Having too hot a wife for his push probably isn't helping matters. I wish I was kidding, but considering the past of wrestling, I wouldn't be surprised that's part of it. Quote
El-P Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 Ok. I know I sound like a broken record but. Why the FUCK aren't these two a top main event act TODAY ? Seriously, this is ridiculous. They have everything a pro-wrestling promotion would want from a top main event act. Quote

He looked more like a star getting out of his irl expensive car with his irl hot wife than hes ever been presented on TV. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 Y'know, having 2018 Undertaker vs 2018 Chris Jericho might win the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Award for Most Disgusting Promotional Tactic. Imagine being in the live crowd for a match like that? Quote
