I haven't watched Smackdown yet but Bryan is an incredible tag team wrestler. I'm down for a month of his hot tags between now and whatever his Summerslam feud is kicks off.

Agreed, I just think it's completely random. Sanity costing him the match, just because, and Bryan helping the Usos for a trios match at Extreme Rules would've been cool too. Him and Harper better not try the same shit they were doing before D-Bry retired though, no need for sleeper suplexes and head droppy stuff.

Gauntlet was brilliant and was perfect use of Bryan, Miz and Rusev. Even the handshake with English over stepping the mark with Styles was well done.

Gosh though, that botched powerslam was one of the most horrific things i've seen that didn't result in an injury.

Also, it's a shame I can't stand to watch Nakamura between the ropes, his promos are solid gold right now.

When was the last time WWE just gave someone a cold release? As others mentioned, the lack of "WWE wishes Cass the best in all of his future endeavors.", indicates Cass must be on the banned list. If this was 2008, they duo would be a lock for an Impact Wrestling contract.

I'm fine with it in Ellsworth's case, because he never should have been released in the first place.

In my mind, "Creative has nothing for you" means Creative should be fired - their job is literally to come up with stuff for people. That being said, I obviously realize that's a BS excuse and it's really "Vince sees nothing in you anymore."

More on Cass's firing:

This is from "the TMZ guy" so I'm not sure how much credence to put into it.

Details on Reasoning Behind Big Cass’ WWE Release

Posted By: Ryan Satin June 19, 2018

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Big Cass doesn’t seem to have been fired for one certain reason, instead it was a mix of multiple things — the most noteworthy happening on WWE’s European tour.

As we first reported, Cass went against a directive from Vince McMahon last month during a segment involving a little person. We’re told this is when things began to go south for him.

According to Sports Illustrated, Big Cass was apparently drinking during the European tour which took place a week later and allegedly had “attitude issues.” They also claim “being intoxicated in public” is one of the underlying reasons for his firing.

Multiple sources tell us one of the incidents which rubbed people the wrong way happened in private, however, on the WWE bus chauffeuring talent.

We’re told the bathroom lock was apparently broken, but Cass didn’t realize it and thought he was being pranked. After being stuck inside for too long, a claustrophobic/angry Cass broke down the door. This meant people had to embarrassingly use the bathroom afterward with no door.

This, obviously, made some of the riders on the bus unhappy. It’s worth noting that some understood his frustration though and weren’t as angry as others.

Both of these incidents in such short time — coupled with 1-2 additional unverified incidents that we’re working to confirm with sources — seem to have been the final straw.

“WWE has come to terms on the release of William Morrissey (Big Cass),” the company announced on Tuesday. As you might’ve noticed, the wrestler was not wished well in his future endeavors.

The 30-year-old last wrestled at Money in the Bank in a losing effort against Daniel Bryan.

And Mike Bucci went Super Nova on Cass, accusing him of being an arrogant millennial twat waffle (my words, not Bucci's, but they convey what he said quite nicely IMO).

A former wrestling co-worker of mine from back in my WWE days was backstage at a show about a year ago and Big Cass big dogged him and asked him to leave the locker room. If their paths cross again on the indys, I hope I'm there to see my old buddy return the favor.

Quite a shame if he had all these attitude issues, because it seems to me like he finally turned a corner with his ring work in that last Bryan match. As tempting as it is to credit that to a total Bryan carry-job, their last match wasn't nearly as good.

That sounds like the worst possible injury to have. I recall seeing a somewhat recent Magnum TA interview where he said he hurt the rotator cuff on his good arm and chose to not have the surgery since it would make him essentially helpless until it healed. I would imagine having both shoulders done would result in the same thing.
