The Chief
It's early but I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with Elias Samson's drifter gimmick. A wrestling drifter, I love it. We can throw coins in his upside down hat while he plays guitar on a street corner. Guitar, whiskey, vagrancy. God damn, we could have a wrestling Sam Elliott. Loss
It was in the WON that they had to cut old school promos in their own words at 2K16, and Xavier Woods was supposedly great and the only one on Cena's level.
sek69
I get the impression most if not all the stuff Xavier says at ringside is off the cuff, and is usually great, so that was a welcome thing to see when I read it.

Woods is incredibly quick on his feet. You watch him in any other setting and you can see that. I think Big E with Woods as his manager is money waiting to happen. Loss
I want them to make Xavier Woods the next Bobby Heenan. They won't, but that's what I want.
Johnny Sorrow
I want him to be the first Xavier Woods. Â And he's doing it. I get what you're saying, Loss...but I don't want him to be anything like anybody else since being the character he's created is so fucking perfect. I assume you're implying he should be the top bad guy who consistently manages people to face top good guys. And sure, that'd be great if that's what they still did, and who knows? Anything can happen.
DMJ
I have kind of a crazy theory about Woods - basically, what originally was pitched as a "Freebird rule" team quickly changed (or just became) a Kofi and Big E team with Woods as a manager. Seeing the writing on the wall, Woods took a relatively big "brass ring" gamble and started to yell and scream and shout and stage a 1-man show on the outside of the ring during their matches. Now, during interview segments, he was already a bit of the mouthpiece - but it's not like Kofi and Big E are playing strong silent types. During matches, though, Woods needed to do *something* *ANYthing* to stay noticed and his solution was to take the Jimmy Hart model (Who needs a megaphone?) and crank it up past 11 (where Jimmy had it) and up to 12. Â I'd gladly give credit to the agent or producers for coming up with it, but I'm fairly sure that this was all Woods. I mean, let's be honest, if there were agents and producers focusing on the minutae of the New Day gimmick, it probably wouldn't be as good as it is now. Case in point, Monday's AMAZING tuba moment - I find it hard to believe that some writer said "You're going to learn to play 3 notes on a tuba and that's going to be your entrance" and much easier to believe that Woods pitched the idea (maybe he played tuba in high school or whatever?) and, though it was a great idea even on paper, I can also see the producers being like "Sure, whatever, just don't stretch it too long cuz we got a 20-minute Hunter and Rollins promo going on to close the show." Â Still, as great as Woods is, I do have to admit to having the nagging fear that the WWE doesn't know what to do with managers and that he'll be cast aside or used as a jobber after the New Day run. Aside from Heyman, the WWE's track record for the utilization of managers recently hasn't been great. I was a fan of Armando Estrada and they didn't do anything with him. I thought Abraham Washington wasn't too bad and he got fired. Zeb Colter was huge for Jack Swagger and, though I'm not sure what else he could've done, he's not around anymore either. Â Any thoughts on my original theory?

Slasher
sounds like one of the matches at the MSG special will be   Chris Jericho vs. Jushin Liger  I heard Lesnar vs Bo Dallas will be on there too. It is odd how the last two network special house shows features Lesnar against a guy much further below his station. Maybe we can quickly rush Bo into the Wyatt Family so we can have Lesnar throwing them all around like he did New Day. He does need to get his heat back after all :-P

I don't mean copying Bobby Heenan specifically, but I like the idea of him being in the middle of almost everything, wrestling when needed and helping other guys who either lack charisma or can't really talk. Loss
I wish they'd put Brock against guys who'll probably never have a match with him on a major show but who are a little higher up on the card. Sheamus or Bray Wyatt would be an ideal opponent. Luke Harper would be even better. Jericho-Liger, the match could be very good, but it doesn't carry much intrigue. Liger-Miz I would be strangely excited for because I think their characters would mesh well and Miz could pretend to have no idea who he is. Â Will Brock's next smaller show opponent be Heath Slater? Actually, nevermind, that would be tons of fun.
Ready_Willing_Gable
Saw Enzo & Cass for the second time. I still get that NOA/Too Cool/Dudleys feel out of them. It's not a good thing in my book BTW. It is when the WWE tag team scene prominently features Los Matadores and The Ascension. Time for something new wouldn't ya think? Once this Dudleyz feud is over, New Day/Enzo & Cass will be gold. They're not just catchphrase guys like Carmella is, they are perfectly capable of making it entertaining each night. God damn I can't wait to see New Day & Enzo&Cass riff off of each other They do remind me and a lot of people of NOA. I didn't particularly like the NOA but in tag team wrestling, establishing a routine is pretty important and Enzo & Cass usually go above and beyond. Xavier incites the crowd by going "NEEEEWWW DAAAAY..." and waiting for the "sucks", the clapping - what I'm saying is it's not the only two elements about them. It's that routine to fall back on if but far from all they have.

sek69
Not sure why there's the hate for Jericho-Liger. Yeah, it's not going to set the world on fire but they're clearly putting Liger in with guys he can have good matches with on his mini tour of WWE. Ready_Willing_Gable
I've heard reports of Liger at MSG are wrong, though it is still highly possible he'll work more dates for NXT
Matt D
Liger vs Jericho seems a not bad choice to celebrate Jericho's 25th year in wrestling. I kind of dread what condition Malenko's in but that might have been a fun one too. Maybe a tag.
Alucard
Yeah as said above, Liger's not working the MSG show but will likely work more NXT shows. He's in the UK against AJ Styles for Revolution Pro on the MSG Date. And I think Brock/Bo was just speculation, nothing confirmed there. El-P
Jericho could have busted out his Super Liger outfit. Now that's an obscure reference.

Jericho even worked under the mask as 'Super Liger' for a while. I think that's a really cool match for Liger's first time at MSG. Â I'd much rather see Brock vs. Slater than Bo Dallas. We already saw Bo destroyed by Brock on RAW.....the 'match' will be the same thing, and Bo isn't some great bumper/seller like Slater. Â EDIT* now I see that he's not on the MSG show? Meh. I was looking forward to Jericho-Liger.....
Strummer
Monday's Raw in Florida is in jeopardy of being cancelled due to a severe tropical storm. I wonder if they will do the show from Stamford again if they have to cancel? JerryvonKramer
My old mate just posted the Stewart-Cena-Flair deal on my FB. Creative didn't really give Flair anything to do in that segment, it was weird. He was just out there as a warm body seemingly.
Badlittlekitten
That's what was so refreshing about Stewart. Even though he was a bit rubbish out there on his own he doesn't follow the unnatural my-turn-your-turn promo style of the scripted wrestlers. Â I finally got through Raw after almost a week, and you know what? It was a good show. Post-Mania lite. You can poke halls in it but i approve the current use of Sting and the Dudley's. Devon's slowed down but Bubba's still got it and the crowd ate it up. Xavier Woods is amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing what Sting and Rollins do. Sting's hair is an atrocity.
