TannerT Posted April 11, 2016 Report Posted April 11, 2016 3 more of my guys got listed today (Mark Briscoe, Homicide and Minoru Tanaka) and I can't believe I still have 96 people to go, good stuff.
stunning_grover Posted April 11, 2016 Report Posted April 11, 2016 I was the high vote on Mr. Gannosuke. I had him at #28. Twelve wrestlers off my list have shown up in the final results so far... ... #28 Mr. Gannosuke [#277] (high vote) ... #57 Yumi Ikeshita [#384] ... #71 Bison Kimura [#420] ... #73 Cuty Suzuki [#385] ... #77 Super Astro [#283] #78 Leo Burke [#296] #79 Jinsei Shinzaki [#400] ... #83 Javier Cruz [#502] (high vote) ... #88 Marty Jannetty [#272] #89 Espectrito [#370] ... #93 Jacques Rougeau [#339] ... #100 Ron Starr [#403]
jpchicago23 Posted April 11, 2016 Report Posted April 11, 2016 Welp Homicide, Haku and Marty all just dropped from my list. All in the bottom 20 so I'm still going strong
ohtani's jacket Posted April 11, 2016 Report Posted April 11, 2016 Nice stuff, grover. I always did like the cut of your jib.
JerryvonKramer Posted April 11, 2016 Report Posted April 11, 2016 I think Lothario was my soldier number #2. All of which suggests one thing .... Scott Steiner high voters.
El Dragon Posted April 11, 2016 Report Posted April 11, 2016 Now down 10 off my ballot. 65. Homicide- 269 .... 68. Luke Harper- 300 69. El Mesias- 293 70. Paul London- 298 ... 84. Jamie Noble- 290 ... 92. Jimmy Rave- 338 93. Jimmy Jacobs- 353 ... 95. John Morrison- 419 ... 98. Eddie Kingston- 311 ... 100. YAMATO- 331 Still no high votes, and now looking at my list, I'm starting to accept I may not have any until we get to my top 5. Only one other person in my top 50 I think I have much of a chance of being high vote for.
Cap Posted April 11, 2016 Report Posted April 11, 2016 That Ricochet picture though.... People seem to forget his early career with crazy hair. I kinda did, though his early career was sort of in a blind spot though. I think if nothing else, this project will be remembered as a great success for the top tier picture selection.
Mrzfn Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 I've had 17 drop off of my list so far. I realize that technically my high-low vote was Johnny Ace way at the very back end, but I've really grown attached to my Drew + Monkey profile pic.
mprice Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 Three comments... Mr. Gannosuke= Mr Yakuza? The glasses absolutely put that suit over the top. Ricochet looks more like an 11 year old that hasn't even hit puberty yet. Aaaaaand...something tells me that Terry Taylor had to take something in order to take the "Say No to Drugs" poster. Just a thought.
goc Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 I think Lothario was my soldier number #2. All of which suggests one thing .... Scott Steiner high voters. I didn't even know you were on the Lothario bandwagon. Seems like the only thing you get hyped about on NWAClassics is DiBiase matches.
Dylan Waco Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 Other than my number 1 in not going to be the high vote on anyone. Absolutely amazed that my 95 is still on the board.
Grimmas Posted April 12, 2016 Author Report Posted April 12, 2016 Other than my number 1 in not going to be the high vote on anyone. Absolutely amazed that my 95 is still on the board. I don't think I will either, but we'll see. I really should look up who you had at 95, but now I am just excited for that reveal.
Jimmy Redman Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 Been quite a while since one of mine's popped up (and Ron Simmons wasn't one either). Ha! You jinxed it. Amazingly nobody else of mine has dropped since Trish.
Mando Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 Being the high voter on Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley) and Homicide got me to thinking back on how great their short-lived rivalry was. Their No DQ and No Rules matches for DGUSA were some of my favorite wild indie brawls right up there with the Briscoes vs. Necro Butcher/Mad Man Pondo street fights in FIP.
mprice Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 So far the only high vote I have had was on Combat Toyoda.
ChuckScumm Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 I can't believe Greg Gagne only made my list.
elliott Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 Honestly, that Goldberg picture I think finally tops the Abdullah Kobayashi picture from day 1. Well done.
goc Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 Goldberg was too high. Sydal did pretty well all things considered. I voted for him pretty much solely based on his WWE run but I did watch a few of his more recent matches just to see if he was still really fucking good (he is)

Loss Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 I think we're still at a phase where I wouldn't call anyone too high. My tune will completely change when we get to the top 150 or so.
Matt D Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 I could see a few people going high on Goldberg for whatever reason but he had a lot of votes for someone with a lot of three minute matches. And I like three minute matches.
Ricky Jackson Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 I think I'm really going to like the list that has Gorgeous George at number 5
joeg Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 Goldberg was too high. Sydal did pretty well all things considered. You're wrong but you are entitled to your wrong opinion. They are both borderline unwatchable. Goldberg had 1 good match against DDP, I can't think of a good Sydal match. Goldberg squashes could be fun. I wouldn't expect either guy to do well on the BIGLAV. Sydal was never a top guy and Goldberg wasn't much of a draw when he was on top...
