Johnny Sorrow Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 I just got done watching that Backlund/ Patterson match. Do yourselves a favor and see this ASAP, it's fucking awesome. It totally blows away the more famous cage match.
JerryvonKramer Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Excited to get there and talk to you about it Johnny.
Ricky Jackson Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Yep, I watched Backlund/Patterson 7/30/79 last night and it is an awesome match.
khawk20 Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 I always marvelled at how strong he would look on those armlocks the heel would throw on him where he would stand up with the armlock still on him and carry the guy to the turnbuckle and sit him down on it. Helped or not, it's always a cool-looking strength spot.

cm funk Posted September 5, 2013 Report Posted September 5, 2013 Any particular reason the Flair thread was locked? Flair creates enough news/controversy that a catch-all thread seemed appropriate
Loss Posted September 5, 2013 Author Report Posted September 5, 2013 I'm unlocking it. I have no idea.
goodhelmet Posted September 5, 2013 Report Posted September 5, 2013 I probably locked it inadvertently when typing on my iPad.
Matt D Posted September 5, 2013 Report Posted September 5, 2013 I was hoping it was somehow good luck and he would only act reasonably with his money from now on.
WingedEagle Posted September 5, 2013 Report Posted September 5, 2013 I thought Flair was demanding a first class ticket to have it reopened.
Mad Dog Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 I got the free Dusty comp off IVP this week. I might have been delirious at the time but I dug the shit out of the Dusty/Abby match on there. It was a great brawl and it was amazing when Dusty finally made his big comeback in the match. It was probably the best Abby match I've seen.
jdw Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 Every time that Flair thread pops up with a new message, I wonder if this is the one where he's dead. :/
Kevin Ridge Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 Can someone give me the full explanation of the "go go style" that I see mentioned numerous times on this board? It seems to allude to Kurt Angle and "getting all his stuff in" but I want to know what this style is all about specifically and who are some other offenders of this.
Sidebottom Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 Every time that Flair thread pops up with a new message, I wonder if this is the one where he's dead. :/ It would be a massive mood killer to a guilty pleasure thread.
KrisZ Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 Come on we know that Flair will never die
Loss Posted September 6, 2013 Author Report Posted September 6, 2013 After watching The Usual Suspects recently for the first time in ages, I've decided I really want a Keyser Soze angle in wrestling. Maybe Daniel Bryan can take off his fake wig and beard and peel his skin back only to have secretly been a 5'4" psychiatrist that was here to study the WWE universe.

Unrelated to wrestling, but I named my son, Keyser after this movie
jdw Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 Come on we know that Flair will never die Something like this:
EricR Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 I got the free Dusty comp off IVP this week. I might have been delirious at the time but I dug the shit out of the Dusty/Abby match on there. It was a great brawl and it was amazing when Dusty finally made his big comeback in the match. It was probably the best Abby match I've seen. That's because Will buried Abby/Wajima from the public.
MikeCampbell Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 Come on we know that Flair will never die I tell my wife the same thing when she asks when he's going to die. When the bomb drops, all that's going to be left are the cockroaches and Ric Flair.
Nighthawk Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 Since I'm breaking my PWO seal, i figured this would be the exact right place to do it. I just wondered if anyone had ever heard of any legitimately good pro wrestling that happened in the Caribbean outside of Puerto Rico. It's one of those real wrestling dead zones, and I'm always terribly intrigued if anything happened there.
EricR Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 I'm watching an old WCW Saturday Night and it's sponsored by a Nintendo 64 baseball game, and the player featured in the ad is Ken Caminiti. You cannot pick a more fucking appropriate baseball player to be featured in a commercial during a pro wrestling program.
