So if I am using that logic of "you can't prove it" then I can say that Kenny Omega would have no impact on PPV/subscription buys to the WWE because chances are he will never main event a WWE show. Just like chances are John Cena will never work 3 Ring of Honor shows.

And is he really saying that OVW is an indie? When the hell would that have been. The 2 or 3 years between WWE and TNA developmental when the product was a complete dumpster fire

Are we really still calling Dave a journalist after he completely makes up something that never happened (Jeff Hardy having an ROH run in 2009) then after he is called out on how he's wrong, instead of acknowledging that and admitting he messed up his timeline, he just deletes the tweets and moves on? Call him a historian if you want (at this point I'd rather just label him a NJPW/PWG fanboy/propagandist) but I don't think the word journalist applies anymore.

Jericho or not, NJPW World won't do shit until it has a site in full English and proper apps on set top streaming boxes like Roku, PS3/4, etc.

Yes, there's a Chrome extension that jerry-rigs the site to display English, you can hook your laptop up with an HDMI, cast it from the website, etc. All of that is bush league city, and no casual Jericho/WWE fan will bother with any of that.

This needs to be as simple and streamlined as possible.

Exactly. This has been my main barrier to entry. I've got HighSpots, WWE, and Powerbomb.tv right on my Roku. I've watched a thing or two here and there on NJPW World but haven't felt the need to subscribe because of this. Dave was saying when it first launched that all of these things were in the works but it never showed up, aside from the translation button on the website.

When I want to watch it on my TV, I just use the built in Edge browser on my Xbox One and it works just fine.

You can buy a Chromecast for cheap.

It's really not that hard of a website to use. Google Translate is pretty automatic if you're using Chrome. The navigation on the website isn't quite as good as it was but it's harder to find the games on NHL.tv than it is to get to the matches you want on New Japan World.

Remember all of the stories about how when WWE Network launched there was tons of anecdotal stories of folks calling their cable companies asking how to get it on their TV?

Keep in mind that a large number of Chris Jericho's Twitter followers are likely not in tune with other wrestling, or tech savvy to the point where they know how to use other devices besides Roku or their video game system and Smart TVs.

I could easily see there being a few thousand people curious to see this next match Jericho keeps talking about on Twitter that only watch WWE Network through one of these devices get confused and angry when they can't find the service on their default streaming device.

Oh for sure it's not as simple as WWE Network, but too many people are acting like signing up for NJPW World is harder than climbing Mt. Everest. Heaven forbid someone have to click an extra button or two.

You have to be a really hardcore fan to get the NJPW World. You can be a decent or casual fan and get the WWE Network. Huge difference.

But there aren't thousands of people out there chomping at the bit to watch Japanese wrestling that are being turned off by this.

If that's true, then Jericho wrestling Omega is completely pointless. The whole idea - I'd imagine - is to get thousands of new fans. But New Japan needs to meet those fans halfway by upgrading their bush league NJPW World service.

Yeah, if they want to make much, much more of a dent in America (aside from the occasional one-off or co-promotion with ROH) they need to make it as simple as possible for people to consume their content. The way wrestling is watched here now is via set-top boxes or gaming consoles with streaming capabilities. Like Eduardo said, they’re not even close to as easy to watch as HighSpots. Hell, use that PivotShare company that several wrestling promotions use for their Roku apps. Have never had an issue with it and I have subscribed for a long time.

It's to draw for their American shows plus it will probably get them some attention in Japan.

Their product can be as amazing as they want and their streaming service as simple as possible and they still will have a limited appeal because of the language barrier.
