It's wacky and pretty awesome. He said Inoki was his #1 for historical reasons alone, which seems fair, but he is a gigantic fan as well.

How does one vote Inoki No. 1 for historical reasons, then leave Flair completely off the list?

I think it's pretty clear by his ballot what kind of wrestling he likes man.

Thez falling one spot behind Lugar is great... but is anything really funnier than The Big Bad Booty Daddy getting a number one vote. Being somewhat sympathetic to the defense of Steiner as #1, the pick itself might be the most pro wrestling thing to happen during this whole thing.

This seems a really reasonable place for Inoki. That picture though...

Inoki at 1 as mentioned is a head scratcher. I'd like to hear that explanation.

Lex over Thesz is awesome. Anybody who has visited Wrestling Classics and is familiar with Crimson Mask will be laughing there head off about how pissed he would be if he sees this.

I should have voted for Devil Masami. Stupid me.

Speaking of stunned, I feel betrayed even reading this shit. Who are you?

I know. :( Stupid stupid me. I used to love Devil.

Wait. Oz. MAYUMI OZAKI doesn't make the top 100 ? Who are you PEOPLE ? These results suck. She was my #16.

Seconded. Oz was my #17.

Also the decline of Takada is pretty remarkable.

The two highest ranked guys down on my ballot are Abdullah the Butcher and Nobuhiko Takada.

Now I'm sad this match never happened.

EXCEPT IT DID IN REAL LIFE

*googles*

OH SHIT

You can even watch it. Contrary to what is said in the description, it was not a UWF-I card but some obscure indy from that time. Japan Pro or something, I dunno. I remember Mike Lorefice talking about it in his year in review.

I think I'm at 41 down. I'm not even sure what to do about WoS. It's madness that from a whole style, one that's wonderful and masterful, there's something like 3 guys left on the table and we haven't even entered the 100, especially when there's so much just out there on youtube.

I might not get the NJPW set yet and just write about things Kent Walton announced for the next year.

I have a feeling the members of PWO may come after me with pitchforks lol b/c I think the reason that Triple H has gotten this high could be because I might have given him the highest vote at 35. I'm really surprised he hasn't shown up yet and if I could go back I would have ranked him in my bottom half. I wanted to give him some love because I know PWO are not fans of his, but I think I gave him too much because with my 35 vote plus the other ballots he is way higher than he should be and has ranked above some names he shouldn't be ranked above.

Here is my updated list of fallen soldiers

Jinsei Shinzaki (100)
John Tenta (99)
Takeshi Morishima (98)
The Big Boss Man (97)
Booker T (96)
One Man Gang (95)

Davey Boy Smith (82)
Jeff Hardy (80)

Abby randomly used a dragon sleeper just because. Abby totally dominates Takada on the mat. My day is made.

The match is totally Takada saying "Ok, you're not carving me up big boy. So I'll sell for whatever shitty offense you have for most of the match, I'll let you drop the elbow, then you get your fork, I kick you in the knees and in the face and I pin you.". Hey, Takada got a victory pin over Abby. That has to count for something.

Just jumping back in here. I knew Takada would plummet but I'm surprised he fell that far. Thought he might still sneak in the tail end of the top 100. I was also surprised how far Kikuchi dropped, though he didn't get discussed too much in the threads.

Marty Jones was my first top 50 guy to go, but it's hard to be too disappointed considering he was No. 282 in 2006. I'm now rooting hard for Grey to hold on until the top 100.

It does seem the sheer volume of votes has been hard on lucha, Europe and Joshi. All but the consensus elites from those spheres are dropping.

The problem is that the voters most likely to give these styles/regions attention are the ones giving everything attention. In those cases, there's only so much room when you're considering everything. Those styles needed more niche voters to take part to represent them better, along the lines of the number of ballots that have 50 or more Japanese males or modern U.S. wrestlers on them.
